I have no idea but I blame Cloudflare because nobody likes Cloudflare. It was legit down though. Even my SUPER SEKRIT ADMIN ACCESS was giving me errors. :'( WORST DAY EVER.
We could totally do a long thing and then a bunch of short ones while we write our novel-replies to the long ones but knowing us, the short ones would turn into long ones too and then we'd have like 6 different wall-of-text conversations and just... just no. XD I can't even imagine that! I mean, if I know someone's a recent immigrant and doesn't know much English (or has a reeeaally thick accent) I'll be kind of uncomfortable because of the language barrier but most minorities (even if they aren't technically minorities where I am XD) are like 2nd or 3rd generation so they're just as white-washed as I am lmao. I don't think there are any laws about minorities having to be a certain percentage of students or anything though. My school pretty much absolutely refuses to release any data on race/ethnicity though so I don't even know what the real numbers are like. @_@ But Canada has waaay less universities/colleges than the States so they tend to accept pretty much everyone so long as you have the marks. They would never even bother looking at your name/race/background, I don't think. The only special treatment people can get is through bursaries and scholarships, I think.
(Not good at math != stupid. Everyone is good at different things. :> But it certainly doesn't help when bad teachers won't teach people to be good at things. I mean, it's so important to instill the basics AND an interest in the subject when teaching and so many teachers can't even do either of those. I like how this part is in brackets. I'm going to just assume it's because we need more ways to break up the text than just paragraphs and strikeouts.)
OMG. HARRY'S FACE. NO. ALL THE GRYFFINDORS' FACES. OMG. /DYING
I like your name too! I have never met a Callie before. If you lived here, people probably wouldn't even think to make the connection. XD; I can imagine that getting annoying pretty fast though. It makes me wonder about the people who legitimately name their kids after states/provinces. Like. Why would you even.
I had a house that would've been stilted if the ground was on any sharper of an incline. As it was, the back of the house had a walk-out basement. We had a deck and it was on stilts up to the main floor. I remember getting locked out of the house once so I climbed up onto the deck to get in from there only to find my parents kept that door locked too and I was almost stuck up there for hours until they came home but my friend wheeled a compost bin over and I got down that way. To this day I always make sure to compost if it's available because it SAVED MY LIFE. Or saved my afternoon, at least.[/vaguely related anecdote] But omg I'm not even scared of heights but I don't think I could live on the side of a mountain. I'd never be able to go near the stilted side in that pictured house because I'd just be like "OH GOD WHAT IF SOME OF THE WOOD IS ROTTING AND THIS HALF JUST FALLS OFF THE MOUNTAIN" lmaoo
I've actually heard that! I just don't... have TV anymore. XD; I know. I show my age so much when I go on about it hahaha. I've never really liked live action shows. When I was a kid I'd refuse to watch anything that wasn't at least like 90% animated. XD It's only in the last couple years I've gotten into any and even then they're all dramas or comedies. No reality TV for me, ick. (My roommate got into Dance Moms or something and made me watch a few episodes... IT WAS PRACTICALLY CHILD ABUSE. I don't understand why anyone watches any of those things! D:)
I also have like a million random sleep aid tips that don't involve medicine if you're interested. You just kinda learn these things after a few years of insomnia because whenever I go to a doctor and mention it they aaaaalways go on and on about these things and then look sheepish when I say I've tried them all. XD
That might be what happens here. I never really knew why they stayed on the reserves. I think part of it is that it's the only land they have left that they own but tax breaks are probably a part of it too. Although possibly just plain being unable to afford living in other cities might be a factor. idk. T_T; I'm just glad that the native heritage in me is so far back that I'm 100% unaffected hahaha.
I think Catholics are actually surprisingly liberal. I mean, you'll always get some crazy extremists but on the whole I always found Catholics to be a lot more... idk, accepting? Or something? than a lot of other sects of Christianity. But maybe that's just bias since I haven't really been exposed to many others. XD;
It's much easier to adapt when you're pretty much forced to. I think I did try to do like a hunger strike when we moved from Nova Scotia since I didn't want to leave my friends and I thought that way my parents would agree to stay there but I lasted all of like 7 hours because my parents made my favourite meal that day lmao. and I WENT TO WIZARDING WORLD SDLKJFJS. I went in February with a few of my friends. :DD IT WAS SO AWESOME AND MAGICAL AND SLKFJDSG I really want to go back there again already. It's like the greatest place ever. I hear they're adding more attractions in the coming years. I hope they expand it and just plain make it bigger though because maaan was it crowded. XD; I wanna go back to Disney World too. T_T I've been a couple times but I still love it s much. /bad at growing up lol
See, that's extra disappointing because I always assumed that people would see them protesting soldiers for whatever reason (what is their reason??) and then automatically assume that their other opinions are ridiculous too. Like, I'd be SO ASHAMED if it ever turned out that I thought alike to any of their opinions and I'd probably change mine in an instant and ~see the light~. :(
*hugs* ;~; You should whisk your momma away and ~move to Canada~ because we are accepting and tolerant and awesome here! (And we rarely get ridiculously hot temperatures! Although in exchange we get the cold ones hahaha.) My parents are actually kind of awesome. @_@ My dad's a little conservative I think but the most he does is crack jokes about other races or homosexuals or whatever. Nothing malicious. My mom's like the nicest person I know and is so accepting of everything. <3 She's usually the first to rant to me about conservative thinking taking over hahaha.
YES. YES I DO. I decided one day in high school that I was going to be God and created a religion (Lightningism). My mom still calls me God in emails to me. XD But the whole smote-by-lightning thing was very convenient! I think the only requirement for my church was that you had to like oreos and you had to worship me.
I chose math as my major because I would never have to write essays again. And then I picked an arts minor and suddenly I have to write them again, but most of the papers have been religion-related so it's not that hard to get into BS mode. Even if they're academic papers now instead of "GOD LOVES ME". But I still wish I could write essays on like... Kingdom Hearts instead. Except I'd probably have issues with not going over the limit rather than reaching the limit. XD But oooh Ireland! I think I... might have some Irish background? Even if I don't, I find that whole region really interesting. *u* Irish history has come up in some books I've read and I find it fascinating too. And it's always more interesting to learn about places when you know you have some sort of connection to them.
Oh my god I was the most annoying kid for asking weird questions about the bible and contradictions and stuff. I actually read through like half the Old Testament when I was ~8 so I caught a lot of the weird passages. x_X If I hadn't been taught evolution I totally would've asked the same question as you. And as it is, I read the creation story and immediately went "UM. EXCUSE ME WHERE ARE THE DINOSAURS" because I loved dinosaurs as a kid. XD And then I think I moved toward atheism (and bothered my mom a lot) when I started asking the question "if God created everything, who created God??" Now I identify as apathetic in that I honestly don't care if there's some sort of deity or not. I just find religions interesting to learn about and I keep morals that generally align me as a good person and that's the important part. :> Not whether humans were the first creatures to be made in this world. Pfft, details, details.
Yeah that's about the effort level that went into my costume. XD; Several of my friends are crazy good at costumes so even if I did try to cosplay, I'd feel sooo underwhelming standing anywhere near them so I'm good how I am, lol. I can totally see the appeal in wearing cosplay pieces as normal clothes though. I still want an Organization jacket for regular wear. <_<
If they ever invent a way to extract the ability to sleep in cars, you can be the first in line to have mine! And yesss get-togethers. I've met a bunch of people from PC but always in fragmented groups. T_T It would be sooo neat to have like a whole convention of sorts. AM I WEIRD BECAUSE I'VE HAD DREAMS ABOUT THIS BEFORE? And the Wii U is getting a lot of remakes/ports so I feel like it's probably a prime target for like... a KH HD collection or something. But if it comes out on Wii U maybe it'd just come out on all the current-gen console (since the U is as powerful as the PS3 and 360 lol). I'm hoping KH just goes multi-platform for consoles in the future since I don't want to worry about buying the wrong next-gen console for the series. T_T; And ugh the 3DS XL. I don't want a big one! I was really hoping for a Lite model because I do kind of want to get an English model sometime. >:/
What are some good songs to get started with? :> I kind of feel like a bad weeaboo fan of Japanese things since I've just never gotten into Vocaloids. For a long time I thought it was the same thing as Touhou and by the time I learnt they weren't even related in the slightest, it just looked so daunting to try to figure out. XD;; My phone (because I cannot find my iPod and only listen to a handful of songs when I'm away from my computer anyway) is like 100% soundtracks for games/movies/TV lmaooo.
OH GOD THAT SUCKS. :( We just installed air conditioners in most of the main rooms in the townhouse I live in at school so it's quite bearable here! And I live in the basement so it's always cold there. COME HIDE OUT HERE. It's only uhh... *convert* 86 degrees here with humidex! Quite tolerable today. Although I still did not enjoy my brief stint outside. XD
I love Nosepass because I really like Probopass and I only started liking Probopass because my friend and I thought it had a nose hair fro which was the funniest thing ever. You would not believe how long it took for us to realize it had a mustache and not a nose hair fro. Our dreams were crushed when we realized but by then there was no going back and it was one of our top favourites. I like Trubbish! It's really cute! :> Garbador is ehhh but I have a lot of friends who like it so I've had to tolerate it so much that I figure I might as well like it. xD
I think so. Although that still doesn't make that much sense to me because the stories didn't even overlap much at all! Just like, twice before the end of the story. >:O Yeah but that's all in like one cutscene. XD; So not worth playing the entire game just for a glimpse of them even if they are my babies. You should get a tumblr so I can add you and stalk your reblogs/likes! Er. I mean. So we can be friends!
Marluxia's a he! :> I was really lucky because it took a few tries at the honey tree to get a Cherubi and I was gonna be pissed if I ended up with a female one. But he was male so yay! I don't remember how the battle went. I think I just managed to stay alive an Leech Seed did all the work hahaha. Also I think the Pokemon I defeated was Ambipom which is MY LEAST FAVOURITE POKEMON EVER because its udder tails really creep me out. (I hated Aipom for its tail and Ambipom just got a second one and lskdjfsd ;_;) So Marluxia got like a million favourite points for that. He's the only Pokemon I've ever legitimately gotten to level 100. <3 Also I have some really weird stuff in my PC albums. I think it weirds people out when they stalk through them lmao.
THAT IS SO US. I was sitting on the couch writing this VM (it took me like three sittings) and my roommate came downstairs from his shower and was like "omg what are you typing so furiously". HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND.
I would love that. xD; Would need to make 'em pink, too. Or better yet, I could just replace them with Cherrim sprites. 8D
I need to start including images because they help break up the wall of text. @_@;;
