Yes. Pikachu is still a relatively small Pokemon and Lopunny would be significantly bigger than him especially when Mega Evolved meaning the Ship wouldn't be as cute.

Being able to Mega Evolve would help Dawn in Contests though at least Hoenn ones.

If Mega Evolution ever becomes a thing again in the anime I can see Mega Lopunny becoming Dawn's Mega Pokemon. I'm surprised Buneary has not evolved but I am guessing it is like Ash's Pikachu and does not want to evolve. On a related note my favourite Mega evolution is Gardevoir.

I agree. Ash's Pikachu and Buneary is a very cute pairing. As they are both in the same egg group they can breed. I'm not sure how the anime would handle that unless they have it like in the games where someone is 'surprised' to see Buneary has an egg.
