    Well, that's just Prime!

I love that they kept the vocals in, it's cute. xD
Hey bro, I was thinking of making a topic in A&M to discuss spooky animes with Halloween coming up. I wanted to ask you about it first though because I know you folks hosted an event for PC's favorite animes this year, and had a week for thriller/horror. This would be a somewhat different thread, it wouldn't be a formal list of top animes like that. Since the topic mentioned is still visible I thought I'd check in with you, Fafrir and Donavannj for clearance just to make sure it wouldn't be considered a duplicate. If it sounds okay, and you guys don't have plans for a similar thread then I'll spring into action.

    Ciao!

They do some pretty fantastic covers! This is probably my favourite because it sounds more sarcastic than happy to my ears. xD
Do you listen to much heavy metal as well? I don't listen to as much as I used to, but every now and then angry music is good for the soul.

True enough, you can't get away with anywhere near as much in media today as you once could unfortunately. I mean, I suppose it's good in some respects because my god some things do not age well at all, but I don't know if that really applies to music.
I can't think of a creepier song than that right now. You just reminded me of the Melodicka Bros cover and yeaaah.

Honestly I am too, although I tend to remember the name of the vocalists of most bands...I couldn't tell you who plays the instruments though. I guess that would be because you don't get too many solo guitarists or drummers etc. these days. I think it's more classical music that has instrument-focused albums.
It seems like a lot of metal/rock groups treat covering a Metallica song like a rite of passage or something, haha.

Agreed, Disturbed are fantastic - both their covers and their own songs. One I actually really like is Xandria's version of Don't Say A Word, which is from the perspective of the woman in the relationship, so it's more like a really clever companion rather than a word-for-word cover. Honestly a lot of pop songs are actually pretty disturbing - I grew up listening to Diana Ross' Chain Reaction, because it was my mother's favourite song at the time. When I listen to it now I have to wonder how on earth she got away with having those lyrics!

Tarja kinda faded from the spotlight once she left Nightwish really...it's like how I never hear anything about Luca Turilli now that he's left Rhapsody of Fire. Solo work is often great though, at least if the vocalist is good enough.
I seeee. I didn't hear much from Apocalyptica after their Metallica covers until I Don't Care was used as an episode finisher for Smallville, then I started listening to them again, aha. Do you really need a reason for "Metallica with cellos" though? It justifies itself. xD

It is! I wish more artists would do things like that. Cover songs and the like are often amongst my favourite works by bands and it's often how I discover them. I mean, I only know about Northern Kings because they did this thoroughly disturbing cover of I Should Be So Lucky...

I really liked Anette's quieter songs, although I don't think her voice had quite the same power behind it that Tarja's and Floor's did; I'd say they all have different strengths. Did you ever listen to Tarja's solo albums? Some of her post-Nightwish work is great. After Forever broke up in...2009, I think? One of the guitarists actually founded Epica after he left them. Did you find Apocalyptica through their early Metallica covers as well? I was really taken with those. They released a new album earlier this year that's pretty good too! I'm not too familiar with Amaranthe, but Sonata Arctica are one of my favourites too! I don't know if you've heard it, but Tony Kakko actually did a cover of the Pokemon theme with Powerglove, which is just...ridiculous. xD

Same actually! Despite Nightwish's rather turbulent history I've found all of their albums to be pretty great on the whole - I was a fan of After Forever, so Floor Jansen taking over as lead vocalist was pretty exciting.
Ooh, who else do you enjoy? Alongside those two I've been a fan of Epica, Avantasia, and Delain for almost half my life, haha. The nice thing about a lot of these bands is that they collaborate often so it's pretty easy to find similar music without having to hunt too hard for it.

I've been reconnecting with my inner symphonic metal/rock fan recently, nice to know that I'm not the only one. xD
y'know I probably should have just gone to VMs/PMs first lol, but oh well

So anyway, I kinda don't really see where the complexity is in any of SwSh's characters or how the plot is well-written. It actually reminds me a lot of XY's story in that the base premise of both the overall plot and some of the characters were great, but it never delivered unfortunately.
Hello? I accidentally submitted a SPAM message into the role play casting, just wanted to know if I'm covered..? I'm so embarrassed! Is it still there?
btw, alternate title for Xam'd Lost Memories is "Bounen no Xamdou".

if you liked eureka seven, you'll probably like this series
oh noo I'm sorry, should've let you know 😅
I'm really just experimenting with this new name! One of the reasons why is, it's a single word that already exists and is recognizable as opposed to the name I had before~
well here it is!! also a bit delayed... i hope it came with a warning that the warning would take a while....
