  • Hey, sheep. I don't know if you know, but i'm leaving Pokecommunity for good. You can read my post in the New Users Chit-Chat thread if you want to know moew about that. I wanted to say goodbye to all my friends before i go for reals, so that's why i'm DM-ing you. Thanks for your epic interactions and fluffiness (you're a bloody sheep, what other trait do i use XD) and i'll always be happy that i met you. If you ever want to talk to me again, shoot me a friend request on my Discord, The Foogle#6946. It would be awesome to see you there!

Regardless, thanks again for being my friend on this forum. Sayonara to Sheep, the fluffiest fellow i've ever seen!
I actually like Salemence more than Dragonite now. Weird since it was the exact opposite before. I think out of all Pokemon Salemence has grown on me the most. My opinions have changed a few times. At one point Mew was my favorite Pokemon. I can't complete a dex on switch. Nobody to trade with. I even beat Leon with a Swirlix on my team. However I can easily trade on 3DS.

I don't mind being left handed. Although it would be much more convenient being right handed. The world is built for right handed. For example, at Christmas I can hardly wrap gifts. Scissors are difficult. Left handed objects are rare and expensive. I can't use a can opener either. Those are a nightmare. Sorry if I sound complainish.

How are you feeling so far about the new Pokemon game? Trailers have released and new Pokemon are being shown. Are there any new Pokemon in particular you like? They also showed a new mario movie trailer. The animation looks pretty.
    Now 50%!

Dreading having to get all the pseudo legendary pokemon leveled up. (alolan dex includes every single one of them besides hydreigon).

Luckily Salamence is part of my story mode team, and I got Garchomp in the dex through a trade. That'll cut a few hours of grinding.
Now 40% through the Alolan Dex.

Happiness evoultion has been very easy. Getting a level 1 egg + soothe bell with rotom boosted frendship. Go into a high level area and it takes 30 seconds.

Wonder trading frequently helps too. Never know what could be sent and registered into the dex.
It's probably not the same condition, but that's somewhat relatable. I get random fluid buildup on my left ear. The first time it happened I was getting such bad headaches and ended up going to Urgent Care. Now have stuff to drain it but still takes a while. Happened again in July. Took 2 weeks until I could hear again.

I always thought it was an interesting theory that if aliens had the technology to travel and visit us, we would appear primitive in comparison. I like that it's now generally accepted that there is alien life out there. Space is considered infinite so of course there must be something.

Looked through the hand dominance topic again. And ouch. Not much of a left handed population here. I'm perfectly okay with being left handed though. I've adapted smoothly but some things will always be a bit upsetting. For example:

I can't write in pen without smearing my fingers with ink. Additionally most desks are built for right handed. (hurts inside when the only seat available looks like this).

I never thought about that, but yeah technology is really not moving at rapid pace anymore. I look forward to advances in the medical field. Maybe someday we will have natural cures for things such as blindness, and people will no longer have to go through life with such ailments. I loved VR. Did it with my family at Universal Studios and thought it was amazing. Then again, I think the tech they use is more advanced. Currently home products are more of a prototype. I wonder what happened to space exploration. 1960's humans reached the moon, yet we never went back.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to know him. My dad passed away. I was 3 years old at the time. I still get curious and occasionally ask questions. My mother doesn't mind, but some of the grief is still there. I don't think you can ever truly recover from that. So I keep questions short and easy to answer.

I'm on Team Guerreros. There's only 2 teams, correct? I think it's amazing this is the 20th get together. Maybe next year I'll try hosting an event. Wanted to do it this year, but computer issues.
Yeah, I saw. I was writing out a birthday thread on mobile and just... Pressed the wrong button after only typing two words, aha.
Oh, Blockbuster! I know I visited one of those, but it's a blurry memory. Being born at the start of the millennium is strange and unique. Have faint memories of VCR's, rental stores, and chalkboards. Memories at age 11-12 include none of those. Technology changed rapidly. Schools introduced smartboards and work became primarily online. All that said, I did not witness the world pre internet. One of the first memories I have about school was a lecture about internet safety.

My condolences for your card and I'm sorry you went through that. Reminds me of why my mother was so strict about not taking any devices to school.

Merging the discord message here. Sadly I can only know my dad through what others tell me. My oldest brother did not get along with him. Said he had an explosive temper and got drunk often. (my mom said something similar). But I'd rather not know this and I'd rather keep the happier things. He loved the outdoors and was an excellent woodsman and carpenter.

I'm going to go check out the get together now. Only participated one year out of five, but I can make that two times now.
We have nearly identical join dates with an 11 year gap. In 2006 I was either in Kindergarten or 1st grade. We did have a family computer at the time. Obviously I wouldn't have been old enough to join Pokecommunity. I think around that age my mother would take me to the local library and let me pick out some of the kid friendly computer games. I was in love with Kid Pix and spent so much time drawing nonsensical things.

Was card collecting big too? I know the Trading Card Game existed, and they made a Gameboy Color spinoff so it must have been pretty huge. Also, if it's okay to ask have you kept your old Pokemon Cartridges or have they been lost in time? We still have an original pokemon blue copy owned from one of my older siblings. Not playable due to battery deleting saves randomly.

Glad you got the joycons. Reminds me of when I bought Persona 5 at full $60 retail price and found it was soon $20. No regrets. I loved every bit of it.
Funny you mentioned it feels like 5, because next week will be my 5th year on Pokecommunity. It was a strange time because I recall we had been getting ready to move houses. Can't recall why I sought out a forum but it's possible I wanted a distraction. You mentioned being in the process of moving when we spoke on Discord, so I'm sure you understand the stress of it. Hope everything has settled for you since then.

I wish I could have seen the Red/Blue era of Pokemon. Was it really as exciting as everyone says? I'll only know through what I can hear from others but it sounds like it was the best time to be a fan.

The alcohol simply goes under the joycons. I think your decision to purchase new ones is better. Isopropyl is good as a temporary fix but it's not a magical solution. Although it works if you don't have an alternative.

I plan on doing something different. I would like to complete a Pokedex for the first time ever, so I'm going to start a new file on Ultra Sun and do this from the ground up. Picking Alola because I enjoy the region quite a bit.
Oh, also I was not online to check last week, but we've now had 2 years of friendship ^_^ I remember we began to VM around the time I was watching Avatar: Last Airbender, and it was chilly season. Thank you for being an online pen pal! I have had fun doing these messages. Have a very blessed rest of your week.
I didn't bring that up but yeah it's super easy. It was the generation that introduced full team EXP share too. I was in middle school when X/Y released yet I can't remember much hype around the games? Admittedly we still couldn't afford such things yet, so my first 3D game was later ORAS as a christmas present. (absolutely loved it). I even had the shiny Metagross from the event.

Isopropyl Alcohol was my usual fix for joycon drift. Haven't had the problem in recent years though. Are you using a Switch Lite?

I'm okay. I went to a county fair over the weekend and that was lots of fun. My older siblings are coming here and taking me to a theme park next summer. Also leaving the U.S for a trip that same summer with my aunt and uncle.
Made it back! It is quite nice being here again. Also really nice having my computer back. I'll have to look through some of the sections here and catch up.

I only played through X once. Kalos currently remains my least played region. Loved the variety of obtainable pokemon. I recall the game being super easy too. Ah the characters aren't even something I can remember much about. There's was Serena/Calem, and a dancing rival. Otherwise it slips my memory.

How are you by the way? Forgive me if I already asked back on Discord. I can't wait for the holiday season. I love the atmosphere.
I've had a lingering cough. It doesn't bother me much. I'm feeling better otherwise. I remember you mentioning being out of the U.S, so maybe that helped the chances of not getting it? Not sure of the situation elsewhere.

Weird part is, I didn't even know who she was. That was someone in a higher grade than me. It is strange how they mix everyone together in classes. I avoided taking gym out of fear I would be tossed in with a bunch of older kids.

ORAS does start a little slow. Find it hard to get out of the gate in Gen 6. I don't have that problem in Gen 7 which is funny. That is called a cutscene generation.
I saved backups just in case, but I'd be sad if I lost all my fanfiction threads. We're not starting from scratch when we upgrade, are we?
Will all my posts still be available when Pokecommunity updates? Because I have things I don't want to lose.
I got a neat idea for Omega Ruby.

I picked up a surskit and boxed my starter. Going to try playing with oddball pokemon. Like Tropious, Delcatty, etc.
I had no idea Discord let me track playtime for games.

This feature is so useful. I'm definitely going to leave it on in the background for this purpose. This is something I wish consoles would build in.
