Whilst these will be faithful recreations, I think this a topic worth discussing, as we have the Fairy type now, and you would think that with Eevee in this game Sylveon would naturally be made available...and of course, there won't be just one new Pokemon and that is it.

So if we assume for the purpose of this topic that Sylveon is included rather than excluded by virtue of Eevee being in the game, what other Pokemon would you like to see added to the Sinnoh dex?

Aside from Sylveon and the Pokemon that were added in Pokemon Platinum, I'd also like to see Venomoth, Arcanine, Dodrio, Jynx, Pinsir, Lapras, Lanturn, Skarmory, Donphan, Breloom, Seismitoad, Sigilyph, Vanilluxe, Galvantula, Ferrothorn, Chandelure, Volcarona, Talonflame, Meowstic, Gogoat, Pangoro, Heliolisk, Hawlucha, Trevenant, Noivern, Wishiwashi, Mudsdale, Lurantis, Shiinotic, Toxapex, Palossand, Turtonator, Mimikyu, Eldegoss, Centiskorch, Coalossal, Toxtricity, Barraskewda, Perrserker, Alcremie, Polteageist, Grapploct, and Copperajah.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if every wild Pokémon from the post-game area in the originals was added to the Regional Dex, especially if they decide to just have Regional Dex Mons again like in SwSh.

  • Sinnoh badly needs more fire-types and some more powerful bugs.

Aaron can't be running Beautifly and Dustox in 2021.

  • I'm fine if they just do the Platinum version of the Pokedex, but wouldn't mind seeing some Pokemon that were in the Sinnoh Pokedex originally that got Galar formes and evolutions like Mr. Rime. Other than that, nothing? I just really, really hope we don't get the original Sinnoh Pokedex in these games, I don't want only Ponyta and Chimcar as options...

  • Honestly, I think the dex will be one of the few exceptions to the 'faithful remake' statement. Since this will be our traditional main series game for the year after two years, people will obviously want it to be a game with more than less Pokémon, and I don't think anyone will complain seeing their favorites from generations past IV being in the game. I hope they'll have as many as possible, even if a lot of them can't be caught in the wild and only transferred. A lot of these models look almost identical to Go's and those have some attack animations already, so some of the assets are already there (even if they need adjustments/new animations added). Platinum acknowledged issues like lack of fire types too and that's def something we need to have in these.

  • I have a bad feeling that it will be as faithful as Let's GO games were. Meaning only Pokémon that were in DP will be in remakes plus any of their regional forms. But I don't think there will be Sylveon, since there were no Umbreon or Espeon in LGPE. I hope there will be more Pokémon, since DP Pokédex has a lot of issues, but I don't think that would happen.

    I regretfully agree.

A big worry for a lot of people , myself included is that these will be 3D versions of Diamond and Pearl with nothing new. This is really my response to that. I personally think we will get more Pokemon and content from Platinum to some extent at the very least.

My reasonings and evidence(Keep in mind that this is just my reasoning and logic. Some of these points will be stronger than others imo.) :

1)We see the player using a Porygon Z, which wasn't available until the post game in DP. I don't get why they would show a scene from the post-game in the reveal trailer.

    2) We see the blonde lady in Floaroma who is from Platinum and gives you the Gracidea flower. (This one isn't that strong imo)

    3) We see the player fighting a Garchomp in what seems to be a cave. The only trainer in all of DP that uses a Garchomp is CYNTHIA. The only other trainer that uses a Garchomp is a Dragon Tamer in the postgame. And that was Platinum.

4)If they are staying faithful to the OG DP, then the Regigigas quest should be apart of the post-game. In the OG DP, you have to transfer over 3 Regis from RSE to DP in order to access Regigigas. Now this is the part that we need to wait for more information. I don't see these games connecting with SWSH tbh so the original method of doing the Regi Quest is moot. But in Platinum, you could catch all the regis if you have a Fateful Encounter Regigigas. But I doubt they are going to give away a Regigigas until later if they do it at all. This whole quest is going to need to be changed.

    5) We have about 8-9 months until the game comes out. Would they just show off redesigned areas and characters until the game comes out? I doubt it. It doesn't make sense.

We only have a reveal trailer to go off of. So we should probably wait for more information to make a more solid guess. I'm cautiously optimistic, emphasis on cautiously. Let's hope for the best.

  • hoping for a fun post game and access to non-native pokemon and newer pokemon as well, like hgss and oras gave us. also hoping the regional dex is platinum's and not the original dp.

In my eyes this is probably one of the better outcomes. While I'd prefer the games to have all the available pokemon I'd prefer just Gen 1-4 over another dexit where some people are let down by the fact that their favourite didn't make it into the Sinnoh remakes everyone has wanted for so long.

  • I want it to be as close to the Platinum Dex as possible. It would feel like a nice trip to the past, especially if there will be a competitive scene. The addition of fairy types does kind of ruin the balance the games had and I think would make the elite four laughable so maybe some choice steel and poison type lines added in.

  • I'd enjoy if they did something like the ORAS DexNav where after you beat the main story you might be able to find other wild Pokemon that weren't available before on previous routes!

This would be super fun and add reasons to return to previous routes! Would be awesome.

Overall I wish they'd do what gen 7 did and include more mons, just not in the dex itself. That way we can at least transfer over what we want to use. I'm not hopeful in that regard though, with the growing number of Pokémon/models. Especially now since they're going with a different-looking style again and the models aren't exactly the same as they were in Let's Go or SwSh (I think).

  • I did appreciate that the full dex was easier to complete in SUMO and SWSH, but i also miss the national dex a lot.. I would honestly be happy with like. some actual reason to complete the tasks in Home? As of right now it's just shown as complete..

  • Just give me ONE place to transfer ALL of my Pokemon from UM/LGP/Sword and you got a buyer, okay Gamefreak/TPC?! Whether it'd be BDSP, OR Legends, just ONE storage place ok?

EDIT: I should include NOT Home ok?

Some Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex have received Regional Variants. I am quite confident they'll have Alolan and Galarian Forms for the Pokémon that have them. Those Pokémon being Raichu, the Geodude line, the Ponyta line, and Mr. Mime.

There are only 2 Cross-Gen Evolutions that I think of that could be added to the Sinnoh Dex if faithful to the games with Platinum's roster; Sylveon and Mr. Rime. With Fairy-types being a thing these days, it could even allow for a designated Fairy-type specialist, as Pokémon like Azumarill, Gardevoir, Clefable, and Togekiss have all become part or primarily Fairy-types since 2009. I would imagine it'd be either Mina or Opal.

  • I wouldn't be shocked if new regional variants are included this time around. As for included past Pokemon I'm sure they will do so but it may be post-game content.
