Our theme this week is "Blaze in the Night".
You're all probably wondering "What's that supposed to mean?".
Well, that's just it. You decide what it means. In the entry you make, it can have any meaning, as long as it relates to the phrase.

    Good luck out there! :cer_wink:

  • Blaze in the Night

I realize this is already over, but I want to submit all the same!

Fire, in a way, is majestic energy.
It burn's and burn's forever more, it hold's much mystery.
It can be feared, it can save lives, it can be ignored.
Fire is a weapon that's much stronger than a sword.
If you were to set a blaze, many houses it would raze,
it would kill, and it would maim, but it's fire all the same.
In the night, fire can't hide, it gives a glow, it still seeps fright,
so when you can, use all your might, to avoid a blaze in the night.

    It's not dead.
People just aren't paying attention to it lately.
But, thanks for the entry. I hope more people come along.

Hello to all my lovelies in the Poetry subforum! The mod team (and TJgamer was made aware too) have talked things over, and we have something planned to get new activity into this subforum.

This means, however, that Poem of the Week 5 will be ending it's long long run. Maybe that's a good thing, though.

The new thing isn't quite ready yet, so this thread will remain open until then for any last last minute entries.

If there are any questions or concerns about this, you can PM either bobandbill or me.

  • If this is going to be PoTW's last hurrah, I'd quite like to give it a shot (if that's okay?).

  • Though it's way late and I have no idea what's going on with this, I'd like to chuck one out too, for precisely the same reason. This is one I wrote in my Maths exam today, with this theme in mind. It didn't really have a title, but I think I'll go with . . .

    Thank you, guys.
    Both poems are very nice!

It does make me feel a little bad about the PotW contest being cancelled. But hey, maybe new ideas will arise.

  • And it's way over the usual time limit and all so consider entries closed now! Judging shall commence when they have time for it.

Destickying this too as the new poetry competition has started for the next so-and-so set of time! *motions to new sticky*
