Kanto: Back to Basics
The next group of aspiring Kanto accredited trainers is about to begin their very own Pokemon adventure. Beginning in Professor Oak's laboratory in Pallet Town, each of them is provided with a Pokedex, a map and of course their starter Pokemon. These trainers are introduced to the Gym Challenge (one they might already know if they've been on previous adventures) and eventually the Kanto Pokemon League, but as their journeys continue new opportunities will present themselves and they may find their goals diversifying as they themselves change and grow.
How it works and all that
Kanto: Back to Basics is a semi-sandbox roleplay. In this case, this means that there is no inherent plotline to follow aside from your character's own personal story.A mission system is present and completing missions will earn you rewards such as evolutionary stones or TMs. Missions are completely optional however, and you are welcome to ignore them completely or contact me to create your own.
You will follow the traditional path through Kanto for the most part, beginning in Pallet Town. As the RP progresses new routes and cities will be opened up for you to explore and new opportunities for your character's to experience will be given. All characters will begin with the same task of taking on the gym challenge, but you will find that every new place you visit brings opportunities for your characters to grow and perhaps change their focus.
What do I (the GM) do
It's my job to keep things moving by opening new routes and cities when people are ready to progress (and nagging you to get you to that point). I'll also be posting the available missions and wild Pokemon at the beginning of each new route or city. Lastly, I'll be playing the roles of NPCs such as Professor Oak if/when needed. What do you (the Player) do
Post. No really, that's it.
There's no word count limit or anything too (okay, 100 that's in the RPT rules)...
Just post.
Rules
- Follow the PC and RPT general rules!
- GM word is law, unless the GM is horribly wrong.
- No hard activity limit; you can drop in and drop out as you please as long as you tie loose ends before you do each and every time.
- Godmodding and bunnying is not okay; in the instances where you have to do it, please run it through me and get the agreement of the parties involved (if possible).
- Capturing pokemon is A-OK if they're in that location, unless there's a huge catch which would be mentioned in the mission description I will be giving.
- We don't do levels here. So levelling up and evolving is arbitrary and I trust you guys enough not to abuse it (aka don't evolve your starter immediately after fighting someone). If you think you need GM advice on when to evolve, hmu.
- Don't ever be afraid to ask questions/nag me. My way of working things out is answering questions and hashing them out as I go so if things seem out of sorts (or slow) and not that great they probably are and just the best way to fix that is to point it out directly so I can do something about it.
- Have fun? :)
