  • Just wanted to comment that to pick up an item requires that you be adjacent to it(not right on top of it). Mags can pick up the item at B2 from where she is while you can go grab the item Geodude dropped from C5.

    Woops, derp!

Woowoo goes to C5 instead to pick up the item.

Ok, I'll go to K3 and use Hone Claws again

  • Well, I think it's about that time. Before I post the plan, I would suggest you guys to think more aggressively (WooWoo is fine picking up the C6 item, and my plan will have Mags pick up the B2 item). Coral might still have been able to fight if Sharps attacked Aron instead of retreating. So anyone whose character is not WooWoo might need to rethink their strategy this turn. If you continue to be passive, then our group will get overwhelmed. I should also note for Sharps that using Hone Claws again has no effect, I think.

    Spoiler:

Now, since Caite-chan has dropped out temporarily, and Coral has been knocked out, I think I will take the role of Mags for now. I will have Mags simply pick up the item at B2.

Nah: I would instead stay where you are and use Dragon Rage on Aron so that both you and Felix will be able to take it out.
Could also just use Sand Tomb on Aron. That would likely kill it, freeing up Felix to take some other action. Or would it be better to save my last Sand Tomb PP for something else?

  • Wow, notification worked!

Anyway, Krakonos is full of energy again, so he'll move to L5 and attack that bug! If it's already down, I think I'll just move to the K7.

My thinking was to save it for another enemy, unless you feel confident that Sand Tomb can take it out. I was thinking the damage was going to be too low. if Sand Tomb does take it out, that does free up Felix to Bite the Lunatone instead.

I'm nearly certain that it will kill Aron. If you were able to take out half of its HP with a move you don't get STAB on, I should be able to do the same with a move that I do get STAB on with similar power and is also 4x effective, not to mention its Defense is down too.

I've updated my post where I posted my move now.

  • *Uses Kitsune powers to commence transmission before I get penalized by Lycan lol*. TLDR: What Tails commented on makes logical sense. Its either attack or be attacked and Pokemon or FTE is no different. So far you've done admirably in taking down 7 Pokemon(Spearow, Phanpy, Geodude, Baltoy, Larvitar, Charmander and a Vullaby) at the expense of 1 Ally in Coral.

What I will say is that its best not to argue on what could have happened and instead focus on what will or ought to happen in the future. Your focus in Round 3 should be Aron, Natu and Beldum as your priority targets. Heracross also poses an immediate threat as well but I think its not as important as the first three. Beldum should be first and since Sharps used Hone Claws in Round 2, it ought to take advantage of it by using a x2 Feint Attack on it from K7. Using Hone Claws again only refreshes the buff and makes no sense. Better to jump into the fray and attack! With 87 Attack power to combat its 80 Defense, it ought to deal at least 30 damage(hopefully more). If Sharps manages to deal 31 or more damage to it, Cuddles can move to J8 and finish it off with Brine if its not OHKO'd by Sharps. Brine has a solid power of 65 but doubles to 130 if the target has less than 50% HP. My only concern is that it's x1 instead of x2(or x4) but it should be enough to KO it since Cuddles also has Mystic Water. If Sharps manages to OHKO Beldum, Cuddles can do w/e it wants. Based on enemy positions, I think moving to J8 might still be the best course of action since it puts you in solid position for the other Geodude and Numel. Defensively, your only concern will be that Vullaby but otherwise you'll be free to hit another enemy in Round 4.

With Beldum likely gone from Sharps and Cuddles' actions, Priscilla moves to where it stood(K8) and uses her Wand to finish Natu off. With that annoying Bird and Beldum gone, focus falls to Aron with 30 HP left. Nah could use Sand Tomb on it, which with x4 likely would yield a OHKO but there's no guarantee that it'll hit with 85% Accuracy. Therefore, if Nah fails to land Sand Tomb, Felix will swoop around to L8 and use a "charged" Spark on Aron in the hopes of taking it down. If Nah's hit lands and KO's Aron, Felix will likely move to M4 and Spark Heracross to take advantage of his Charged status. Biting Lunatone is another option but taking advantage of his Charged Status is what I'd do.

Finally, Lutin will move down to L4 and take advantage of Fairy Wind's ability to attack diagonally. This will allow Krakonos to move to L5 and attack Heracross with Cut. With Felix potentially lending a hand with Spark, that all but assures Heracross falling in Round 3. If everything goes according to Tail's plan, Beldum, Natu, Aron and Heracross ought to fall in Round 3. Oh and Mags and WooWoo are item gathering this turn. Ought to be interesting in what they collect. As for Shuckle, have him consume one of his drinks(say the 10 HP one?) or have him grab Felix's Oran Berry before he moves.

    *Ends Transmission*

  • What a shame about Coral! :'( She still had another Aqua Tail left and all.

It seems once again there are multiple targets for me to choose, depending on the situation. Hmm, who should I fry today?

For my default move, have Felix go to M4 and use Spark on Heracross! I want to make good use of it while I'm charged. :D

IF Nah's Sand Tomb misses Aron, Felix will use Spark on Aron from L8 instead!

Ok, I'll go to K3 and use Hone Claws again
    Might change later, or not

It'd be cool if you could have Sharps attack Beldum for us! Getting him out of the way will be a great help!

  • Here we go again and with what results!

Fun fact: Aron's ability was Sturdy, so there was no way you could have managed to bring it down with just a single blow no matter how hard you would have tried.
Fun fact 2: If it wasn't for Beldum's recoil damage it got thanks to Take Down, it would still be up with a massive 3 HP. Now that would have been scary.

  • Wow, notification worked!

Anyway, Krakonos is full of energy again, so he'll move to L5 and attack that bug! If it's already down, I think I'll just move to the K7.

So it appears the bug is already down and K7 is occupied. Do you have a plan C by chance? :p

  • Does Krakonos look like someone who even has plan B? And you want to know his plan C? Well, here it is: K6 looks like nice tile to end the turn for now.

Good opportunity to use Amnesia don't ya think? Anyways, the four Pokémon guarding the left side are unlikely to move to attack unless they have items that allow them to do so. Lunatone will probably use Rock Slide on good ol Shuckle while also hitting you at K6. Geodude will either use Geopebble again or up its defense with Defense Curl or something. Numel and Braviary will move forward and may attack from distance but otherwise nothing else will occur. Decent round by the way. Let's see what Lycan has in store for Round 4. We haven't allowed anyone up the Mountain so there shouldn't be any reinforcements.

  • Hi again everyone :) I imagine I'm not able to join back in quite yet since you're in the middle of a big fight, but now that school has kind of slowed down since last time I was here, I'd love to hop back in with Glacier. Whenever this fight ends, or the next chapter begins, or whenever it is that I can rejoin, I'll be looking forward to helping out again.

I wouldn't say you couldn't join in. It's just whichever battle you opt to partake in would mean extra baddies are added in to balance things out. Question is, which path do you want to take? Going up the Mountain or staying behind to guard the Mountain entrance? Keep in mind that the success of the rear guard likely dictates the number of enemies the group going up the Mountain faces since if the rearguard fails in their mission in preventing enemies from reaching the Mountain path, then they'll join the battle up the Mountain.

Also take note of what enemies you'll likely face. Rock and flying opponents are plentiful going up the Mountain. You shred Flying opponents and lots of Rock Pokemon also happen to be part Ground(which you obliterate). The problem for you is that Rock crushes Ice, hence it's not a cakewalk going up the Mountain. What enemies you'll face in the rear is completely random, although we've faced a Dragon and two Ground Types already. The boss for the rear battle is our old pal Pansear from the first battle but in his evolved form. Fire beats Ice but I'm sure you knew that already.

If you want to join in, I'm sure Lycan would oblige. You'd just have to decide what moves you want since you'd be level 25 as opposed to level 15. Since then, you've "learned" Payback(Dark), Mist(Ice) and Feint Attack(Dark). Your old moveset was Powder Snow, Roar, Confuse Ray and Icy Wind. Of the two Dark moves, Feint Attack is guaranteed to work while Payback doubles in power if your target attacked you. Mist merely prevent stat changes and is a Burst buff that lasts for basically one turn(meaning you can buff Allies with it). Not sure what items you had, if any, but it's nice to see you again nonetheless. Mozilla would be glad to have it's Alolan cousin with her since we lack a true counter to Flying Types in our group.

Besides... Lycan is just itching to add more opponents to Team B anyway...

Damn, you've really got this thought out lol. I think it would be smart for Glacier to stay behind at the mountain path entrance and help the rearguard.

As for my moveset, I think I'll switch it from Powder Snow, Roar, Confuse Ray, and Icy Wind to Powder Snow, Feint Attack, Mist, and Icy Wind. I had no items, so nothing to worry about there.

I guess that's all the details sorted out on my end, so as long as Lycan lets me hop into this fight I think we're good to go. Good to be back here :)

Then feel free to VM/PM him and if you're doing rearguard, migrate over to Team B's thread here: Team B and catch up on things. You can also view the FTE Archives to relive past battles, including the one you participated in. Might even look at the battle you missed as that one was a bit nuts and was won by the skin of our teeth.
