Hack Name: Pokemon Red proud eyes edition V4.0

Hack of: Pokemon Red US/EU (GameBoy)



Introduction:

Hello everyone, Break here with the release of the 4th update to my popular romhack "Pokemon red proud eyes edition".
After spending and extended period of time testing out the hacking tools available...I am very happy with the results of my re-balancing of this classic game.
I will start by thanking the large group of followers who have given me an enormous amount of support and feedback over the years!
Watching "let's play" streams and answering questions about the hack has been an enriching experience.


Storyline:

This hack contains the same storyline as the original...no dialogue has been changed.

Features:

-Updated to 2nd-Gen graphics
-The casino prizes have been edited
-All of the pokemarts have been edited
-Edited all of the in-game rival encounters
-Pokemon experience gains have been modified
-Overworld pokemon levels have been modified
-Pokemon starting move sets have been updated
-Lowered professor oak's aids item requirements
-Updated the difficulty to catch in-game pokemon
-All of the in-game pokemon trades have been updated
-Changed the types of pokemon that cycle through at the title screen
-All of the gym leader's and elite 4's pokemon teams have been edited
-Changed the number of TMs you recieve after obtaining a gym badge to three
-The levels and types of pokemon that appear in caves, grass, and water have been edited

yes, since i created this romhack...i have the pre-patched file.

but you should use the Lunar ISP patching tool...found here:

I'll look into this a tiny bit. I typically use Gambatte (pretty much the best GB/GBC specific emulator hands down beating out VBA on any platform, besides the VBA-M version for Mac won't run any GB/GBC games for me) for emulating this. ALSO, for mac patching use Multipatch. It's Lunar IPS and a lot more for mac, basically. You can find both with a quick search.

EDIT: Working perfectly so far on Gambatte and GBCoid, I've gone through the first battle and up to getting the Pokedex with no errors at all. I have no idea what's causing this... is everyone else on mac using one certain emulator?

Hey! This hack is pretty sweet! It's strange, I've been working on my own red hack for a while now, and I've had aloot of the same ideas as far as the different title screen pokemon and the different wild pokemon :P so if I ever get around to releasing my hack, I promise I'm not stealing your title screen/wild pokemon ideas :P but I really like your hack. I think the town mart mix up with the tms was a really good idea :) I would only suggest that maybe you at least consiiider redoing the maps a bit(: I know pokemap sucks (and every other gen 1 map editor ever made -_- ), so if you're going to use a tool for it then you can't make it too complex, but just doing a basic rearrangement would be nice, instead of keeping the same old same old. And I think I'm gonna make a showcase of my red hack now too...

Hey, no one hacks Red. It's a shame D:

Even though there are just not a lot of tools for it. If I remember, on Bulbapedia, there is a list of EVERY content in the game, with their offsets and all... Like move animations, level up things, scripts, images...

People would kill for the same thing in Gen III.

Weird name but quite a fun hack :) I have a question though: can you perhaps replace a few crappy pokemon (goldeen and seaking, psyduck and golduck, pidgey line, etcetera) with some later-gen pokemon? I would love to see stuff like Staraptor (with submission since CloseCombat doesnt exist yet), Torterra and Flygon :)
CAN YOU HANDLE THE SIZZLE?!
