I usually don't delete them, but every so often I reflash my ROM and I forget to back them up so they all disappear.

I only delete text messages from stores or something sending me coupons if I know I'm not going to use them, or the texts that Verizon sends everyone on my family plan when we start using too many minutes :p

I never really delete texts though, I will if it's like a one-time text thing to a co-worker or classmate about boring work/school stuff and their name is taking up space on my text menu, but that's really it.

I rarely delete my text messages; I don't recall the last time I did that wasn't because I needed a replacement phone. I think it was when I deleted the conversation I had with my old work but that's all really. idk I guess I figure I have better things to do than to spend a few seconds of my time deleting messages.

I delete my text messages regularly. I go about deleting them when the little message pops up saying I'm low on memory. Don't want to not be able to receive an important text because the inbox is too full!

I have every text message saved from the past 6 years across 2 different iPhones. :/ There's no reason to delete them, so I don't. Plus it's interesting to randomly look through them and see how things have changed.

I used to never delete my text for no reason, but i don't anymore.
My phone has a setting on how many texts per conversation should be kept, and as of now the setting is "200" i think, and that's fine

I don't text often at all but yes, I do delete them. Google Voice likes to create duplicate tabs for the same person I text so I end up having like four tabs for my conversation with one person. That and I just don't like to keep them for long - I prefer to clean them out so it's nicer on my eyes!

It depends on who it is from and what it is. If someone sends me something personal I delete it right away because I am paranoid that someone might see it. Anything else I keep.

I only instantly delete those messages sent from my phone operator (DiGi, Singtel, Vodafone, Optus, etc.) containing advertisements and promotions and stuff. Other than that, I leave them to accumulate until it gets too much and my memory runs out.

I usually delete some messages which are considered old for me, or deleting some spams, or promo which has already expired.

I usually can't be bothered to clear my text messages unless my inbox is full. I would keep them if I could, though.

Only if my inbox is full... deleting them periodically would be a pain and a waste of time.

I keep PMs, texts, emails, everything. I want to be able to search things later on

Unless it is spam. Then I'll toss it.

I delete texts from my parents most of the time because it's just small talk I have with them, and the same for my brother whenever he texts me, but I never delete text messages from my girlfriend.

I rarely delete text messages, but I will on occasion. Usually, if I receive spam texts or texts from numbers I'm unaware of, I'll delete those right away. Other than that, whenever I'm in the mood, I'll delete the ones that have piled up after months to start off new. There really is no reason behind why I delete them, though.

I own this FANTASTIC phone, right?

If I don't delete messages off my FANTASTIC phone, eventually it fills its internal memory until suddenly my FANTASTIC phone can no longer receive texts and won't notify my about them.

This is a smartphone by the way. :^

So I do indeed delete my texts eventually when they start to pile up

The only ones I delete are ones from cold callers (or texters, in this case) that somehow managed to get my mobile number and keep spamming me with stuff about PPI repayment or some other crap. Everything else I keep. Not because I go back and look at them all, but because my phone has enough memory to store them all and I can't really be bothered to go through all of my texts to find the ones that I don't want to cherish forever and ever.
