Welcome to the fifth annual installment of the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament, hosted here in Pok?mon General! The goal of the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament (also known as the FPT), is to determine the most popular Pok?mon/Pok?mon family of the users here at the Pok?Community. This will be a 10-week set of polls running between now and December, where we'll pit almost all Pok?mon of different types from past and present generations against each other to determine a winner. After we know the results of each type, we'll add all of those Pok?mon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and will go down into the record books as Pok?Community's favorite Pok?mon of 2017!

If you are new to the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament, or would just like a refresher on the rules/process of the event, please take a look at the FAQ posted below:

    Spoiler:

NOTE: Due to the number of existing Dark type Pok?mon, not all eligible Pok?mon are present in the poll (inclusion is based on popularity from previous polls). If you want to vote for an unlisted Dark type, check the "Other Pok?mon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls are open until the 6th of November, so get voting!

Darkrai and Spiritomb. Looking at the dark-types all lined up like that, I never realised how few there are still and how mediocre the majority of them are...

My favourite Dark Type (Mandibuzz) isn't listed so I placed a vote for her in the 'other' category. Vullaby was my first ever Hatched Shiny as well as my first competitive shiny.

I also voted for the wrestler themed Incineroar and my second favourite Dark type the very fun to use Krookodile.

Voted A-Raticate, Umbreon, and Absol. I really unexpectedly ended up loving A-Raticate - I also have a shiny one!

    - Umbreon (of course!)
    - Murkrow/Honchkrow
    - Sneasel/Weavile
    - Poochyena/Mightyena
    - Absol
    - Zorua
    - Deino line
    - Scraggy and Scrafty

Seems all my favorite Dark Types aren't very liked: Houndour line, Poochyena line, steaming pile of colorful toxic waste and Greninja.

Surprising to see Greninja with so few votes at the beginning, its fallen hard over the last couple of years it seems.

Alolan Muk was really well done as an Alolan Form. It's very tough to kill and resilient, has very few weaknesses, and has a very diverse move pool. I also love its incredibly colorful design. I played with Alolan Muk through my play through of Moon, and then bred a perfect one later to play it on a competitive team, it's never disappointed me. Alolan Muk quickly became a favorite dark type of mine.

Umbreon is my absolute favorite Dark type and in general my favorite eeveelution. It's fantastic defensive stats plus it's move pool that is primarily focused on a defensive play style, it's just become one of the single best Dark type stalling pokemon and it does it so well. Plus, it's always a perk that umbreon has one of the best and most sleek eeveelution designs. As long as you play Umbreon to its advantages, it will never disappoint.

Sableye was a pokemon I also picked for my favorite ghost types. I think Sableye has many wonderful features about it, and most of those features I explained in the Ghost poll. I just think Sableye is a good Dark pokemon for most of the same reasons that it is a good Ghost pokemon.

Scrafty is another stalling Dark pokemon that I really enjoy. Something about Dark type pokemon that are good at stalling are just my favorite kinds of Dark pokemon. I feel like that due to Dark type resistances and immunity, they just play best as defensive pokemon. Scrafty is a great example of a great defensive revenge pokemon. It's a great pokemon for tanking hits and also turning around and dishing out large amounts of damage. I also love its hoodlum looking design, that and yellow is a great color on this pokemon.

Zoroark plays so great around its gimmick that it makes it one of my favorite Dark pokemon. Zoroark is a great pokemon to use to get in your opponents head and force a misplay out of them. With this trickery that Zoroark uses it is pretty easy to use it to get at least one KO with it and also put your opponent behind in gaining an edge over your team. Zoroark also has a very nice looking upright fox design, very cool looking.

Voted for Absol, Incineroar and (needless to say) Umbreon. ?

Umbreon, Mightyena and Yveltal get my votes.
