Favorite Pok?mon Tournament 2017: Poison (Nov. 15 - 22)

Welcome to the fifth annual installment of the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament, hosted here in Pok?mon General! The goal of the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament (also known as the FPT), is to determine the most popular Pok?mon/Pok?mon family of the users here at the Pok?Community. This will be a 10-week set of polls running between now and December, where we'll pit almost all Pok?mon of different types from past and present generations against each other to determine a winner. After we know the results of each type, we'll add all of those Pok?mon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and will go down into the record books as Pok?Community's favorite Pok?mon of 2017!

If you are new to the Favorite Pok?mon Tournament, or would just like a refresher on the rules/process of the event, please take a look at the FAQ posted below:​

Spoiler:

• Every week, two new polls will be stickied at the top of Pok?mon General. Each thread will include a different elemental type, and the list of Pok?mon to vote from.
• You aren?t required to pick just one Pok?mon- you can vote for as many as you'd like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pok?mon with the most votes at the end of the week will earn a spot in our grand finale, where the winners from all other polls will compete to be crowned the champion(s)!
• In order to preserve space, we?ve grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pok?mon family together. Some Pok?mon (ex.: the Nidoran families, Alolan variants, etc.) may be exempt from this rule.
• While regional variants have been included, please be aware that any Pok?mon that changes formes (Mega Evolutions, Pok?mon holding items, etc.) will only be included in polls with its original typings.
• In the event of a tie at the end of the week, all Pok?mon tied for first place will advance to the finale.
  
• If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to ?rendino to get it sorted out.
  

NOTE: Due to the number of existing Poison type Pok?mon, not all eligible Pok?mon are present in the poll (inclusion is based on popularity from previous polls). If you want to vote for an unlisted Poison type, check the "Other Pok?mon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

I'm actually not much of a fan of Poison-type, but my votes go to:

- Venusaur line
- Nidoking line
- Gengar line
- Ariados line (forgot to tick)

Pleasantly surprised that the Bulbasaur line is in the lead (as of when I posted this) but I'm definitely not disappointed! He was my vote too!

Bulbasaur line: If only because I adore Ivysaur
Salandit line: Been growing on me lately
Nidoking: See Ground type poll

And best of all
Muk/Alolan Muk: Best Poison type, though it seems I'm alone in that sentiment lol

This poll made me realize that over half of all poison type pokemon are from gen 1... that's kinda crazy

Beedrill, Roserade, and Crobat.

Beedrill is just cool, I have a shiny Crobat that I love, and I thought Roserade was underrated but apparently she's near the top.

While not quite an upset, it is a bit of a surprise to see the Gengar family miss the FPT final for the first time ever, after being the inaugural champions. Nevertheless, congratulations to Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur on winning the Poison type poll, and earning their spots in the finale!

I am absolutely shocked that Gengar, a former champion has now missed out on the final for the first time ever, being beaten to the point by a popular Kanto starter.

Going to be interesting that we'll likely see another fresh champion come the finale.
