Yanmega was the fastest flyer in all of Sinnoh. Everyone knew this and they would be happy for Yanmega, were it not that he was very smug about it. He often challenged other Pokémon to a race, and he won everytime, for about halfway, his Speed Boost would kick in. Thanks to this trump card, he even beat several Ninjasks. Never in his live had he lost, and everyone had to hear it every day.
One day, Yanma was sick of it. He said to Yanmega: "I have had it with your 'Blah blah blah' about you being all that fast. There are more important things in life!" "Are there now, little fella?" Yanmega replied, feigning kindness. But then his expression changed, and he and at the little Yanma he snapped: "I'll have you know that I am the greatest creature Mother Nature has ever made!" The brave little Yanma took a step back, but the sudden explosion of Yanmega did not scare him. "Oh, really now? Would you like to prove it? We are racing from the Survival Area to the Resort Area." "No, we are not", said the Yanmega, "You might hurt yourself!" He started laughing. But Yanma said, smiling: "I'd worry about myself if I were you..." "That does it!" Yanmega yelled, his voice breaking. "I will see you toworrow at sunrise at the Survival Area!"
At sundawn, the next day, the two dragonflies stood at ready. Yanma looked at Yanmega, but he raised his head, his eyes closed, as if Yanma was not worth looking at. The little Yanma sighed and pointed his view at the Kricketune in front of him and his opponent. When he knew both contestants were paying attention, the Kricketune started counting down from three. Then he shouted 'Go!' and the two winged bugs took off.
Yanmega speeded over the water, evading rocks pointing out of the water surface. Every now and then he looked behind him, and everytime, he was surprised to find Yanma almost being able to touch his tail. This continued until route 228 came in sight. Yanmega knew that Speed Boost would kick in soon, and that the difference in speed between him and that little brat would become bigger and bigger. Happy about this fact, he started accelerating. Looking behind him, he realised that Yanma was now further behind him than he had predicted him to be at this point in the race. Even happier about this, he continued into the desert, not suspecting a thing.
Sorry, y'all, another cliffhanger. I need to think how I'm gonna write the next part. Do you like it?
