☆ THE HIDEOUT ☆

[Juno]

While the Olympics are underway, your team leader has, on top of competing in all the other events, tasked you with furnishing and decking out your guys' pad to prove once and for all that your team has the sickest hideout. It's just a temporary home here in Kalos, but your squad still needs to live in style.

Regular merchants and vendors aren't really that keen on doing business with members of villainous teams though, and you can't go harassing the local businesses for free stuff lest the cops shut down the entire Olympics altogether, so you have to get a little creative with how you source your furniture and decorations.

Fortunately, your team is well connected even in Kalos, so you'll catch wind of back alley deals going down and other shady sources you can check out. They're not giving this stuff away for free out of the goodness of their hearts, though - they'll probably want you to do something in return for them.

overview

Every three days, you'll be tipped off about a few new opportunities to earn furniture. Race your rivals to complete each challenge and bring home the big prizes before they get 'em!

The challenges are misc. tasks ranging from snapping a photo of something to solving riddles with your team - I try to keep them varied so it's hard to describe here, but hopefully you all will tune in and work together to beat the other team!

At each three-day interval, new tasks will go up on the request board at 1PM GMT-4. If you would like to be notified via the Discord's GT announcements, please add the role @Black Market.

how to turn in tasks

Unless stated otherwise, post here in this thread! The first person to post a valid response to a challenge here will win the rewards of that task.

• Some tasks may require you to DM me instead and it should be fairly obvious which ones those are (typically riddles and other things you might not want to give the other team the answer to), but it will always be noted in the post just in case as well.

• Your whole team only needs to turn in a task once, so teamwork and coordination is advised!

• All tasks are available from the time it is posted until it has been turned in (or the end of GT). There are no deadlines for them once they go up, but being that this is a race, you probably still want to turn them in fairly quickly lest the other team does so.

• If the other team does beat you to completing a task, do not fret - you still do get half the points and a shoddy version of the main prize as a consolation, so don't give up!​

scoring

You are rewarded points as well, of course. The points are weighted based on the difficulty of the task. Each task posted will show you the rewards beforehand, but here is a rough breakdown of the scoring system; this doesn't cover every possible challenge and variations, but hopefully it gives you a rough idea of what scoring will be like.

• Ciphers: 15-35 pts.
• Photos: 5-15 pts.
• Make something: 15 pts.
• Trivia: 10 pts.
• Misc. small tasks: 5-10 pts.​

And, as previously stated, completing a task after the opposing team did will net you half the points of the challenge.

Task

In the same vein as previous photo hunts, take photos with your username slip of various pieces of Pokemon merch. This can be clothes, toys, plushies, TCG cards etc. No more than two of the same kind, though - so taking a photo of your TCG binder or plushie collection won't immediately finish the task.

Seeking Adept Farmhand

Task

Reach the highest level you can in Farm Merge Valley. :)

We kept joking about how we should get points for this but then I privately realized I run an event that is flexible enough to make all the time wasted playing Farm Merge Valley yesterday not mean absolutely nothing. So, surprise!

10 points to the person with the highest level by the deadline, which will be the start of next round (July 26, 10 AM PST). In the case of a tie, both teams will get the 10 points.

Send me your best level screenshot as your submission before then.

For those of you who did not waste your whole day merging cows the day before, this is a Discord activity anyone can play, but of course people playing all day would have a bit of a leg up. You can find it in GT Voice Chat > join call > start an activity, if no one is currently playing, and if people are already playing you can just join the activity.

I told absolutely nobody I was going to make this task, so nobody knowingly had an advantage - it's just meant to be a surprise that if you wasted half your day merging cows yesterday, now there is a chance that it won't mean nothing. And if you do not want to participate, I have one more task here than these updates usually have, so your regular Hideout experience will not be affected.

Take a photo of a fish. It has to be alive, swimming, and not on a screen - other than that, it doesn't matter if it's a pet, in a pond, a supermarket, restaurant tank, etc.

The theme of the puzzle you make is what your team loosely represents (team Aqua will make a puzzle for Magma that's water, pirate, etc. themed, and Magma will make a puzzle for Aqua that's land, magma, fire, etc. themed).

Task

5 of his Pokemon are loose on the GT board! Unlike Bingo Blunder, these are only going to be in my posts. So while there are more to find, it should be easier.

They can show up in a Bingo post, but it will not be any 'drawing' posts to avoid confusion, as I use the same model images.

There's another part to this, though - as you may have noticed, he has six Pokemon, but only five can be found. You will also have to find out what happened to his sixth Pokemon.

When you find and click on a Pokemon, you will see additional information about it. Find all five and you should have what's needed to find the answer. DM me your answer when your team has it.

Task

Make a dish inspired by your team - be creative with the theming! It can be the color of your team or something related to the motifs of your team, so that should be pretty broad regardless of your culinary skills (but don't be too cute/lazy with it, ie. don't submit a glass of water for Team Aqua).

I'll tally up everything and close out the first round with a proper update when I get home - both teams should be ending with about 50 points, I think Aqua has like a 3-point lead so we are pretty neck and neck here.
