I finally got my first legit shiny

Well I can say I wasn't expecting to have good new so soon
It appears my 2-day luck has decided to reappear once again making 2 shinies in 3 days, with my new shiny eevee Hugo, who I believe has a hasty nature? (it is one that lowers defense and raises speed)
I'm just amazed at all the luck I have been having!
As for my next hunt... I'm not sure.. I want to keep up with my heartgold shiny quest but I don't know what to go for. Suggestions?

On another note, I have been wanting to try masuda methoding and I recently aquired a chilean ditto. The problem being is that it is obviously hacked (level 2 in masterball?) and I want to know: would it still work? would the odds still be the same? Thanks in advance and good hunting!

If it was hacked as Chilean, then yes. If it was hacked as US, but given a Chilean nickname, then no. If you're in 4th gen, an easy way to find out is to give it an everstone, and hatch 10 eggs of something. If none are the nature,
you most likely have a Chilean Ditto. In 5th gen, this doesn't work, so I recommend just PokéChecking it.

Good question and I can't resist but answer.
You can have a maximum 9999 Coins in FR/LG. This way, you can buy 82? Abras I think. Check the ones in your party and then check all the boxes (trust me, it's best to have open clear boxes for this). No shiny, just SR.
Easily one of the easiest and best Pokemon to SR for shininess.
It's also the best way to sift for Synchronizers and how I got 90%+ of mine.

Unfortunately I haven't gotten a shiny Abra via this method, but it makes me want to try again. (I did get my shiny Scyther this way, though. I think that was my last 3rd Gen shiny before 4th Gen came along. Memory is fuzzy...)

I see..Hmm.. Sounds cool, I don't like Abra much, but might try with Dratini is SS.. although wouldn't the time needed to deposit them in the PC make it more efficient to just SR one?

All dreaminess aside i finally got my first legit shiny a Dratini i got using the Masuda Method(which i am now a firm beleiver in) only 46 eggs!

Hey guys, nothing much up going on here, other than me starting a new hunt: MMing Zigzagoon in Platinum. After finally finding a legit 4th gen Japanese Rattata on PokéCheck for egg move Pursuit (I can change my WiFi to 4th gen, but only temporarily, so GTS takes too long), I sent it to SS, then I'm gonna trade it to Platinum along with a Maga Armor Slugma, and I'll start right after I eat.
He looks really good in dark brown, and the step count is very short, so it shouldn't take too long. I don't like Linoone though, I'm probably gonna everstone this guy.

EDIT: I couldn't find a good Rattata on Pokecheck, so I won't be doing egg moves on this guy until further notice.

(When was the last time I updated? o.O)

With Hugo now a striking umbreon, and Finnick a blue-mouthed feraligatr, I decided to head back to goldenrod to mm yanma. along the way I noticed it was a bug-catching contest and thought "why not?"

Now, the bug-catching contest has already been quite generous, doling out scythers and pinsirs aplenty, but now I know it loves me for sure.

(SHINY) BEEDRILL APPEARED!!!!! The insanity of it all! THREE SHINIES IN A WEEK?!?!?!?!? wow!

She is caught, then named aria, and resides in my shiny box in case I have need of her (I really want yanma for my team but if I can't deal with MMing (first time) then she will come out of reserve)
Right now I'm floating on a cloud! Now on to yanma!

Usually i dont post often, usually only when i have a shiny so i dont make junk posts, but once in a while, ill probably come in here to post about stuff.

like the post above. Not sure how you did your run of the BCC, but this is how i caught my second (first is a random Kricketune two years before i started hunting) ever shiny, and what got me into hunting. it was a leg in a race in the Serebii shiny forum, and i decided to try for it. my first run, nothing, so i reset. My second poke to come across was a shiny Paras. this is what go me into hunting.

since then, about two years now, and thanks to LucarioGuild7 and G-Money, i have found out how many shinies i now have, which is 85 including dups and quads (4 Patrats......) spread out between Emerald on up to White 1. Eventually, they will all be in one game, not sure when that'll be

So, now on to my hunts. Here's what's going on:

LeafGreen: Charmander is being such a pain. been working on him for (an estimated) 6 months

Emerald: Smeargle. stuck at 2250 encounters. ill get to him eventually.

Pearl: Still in Eterna Forest, hoping for anything but Dustox

Diamond: Need to beat the Elite 4

Platinum: Im currently inside Mt. Coronet, but i might move so i dont get a most of what's in there......

SoulSilver: Since Venomoth, i stayed in the same area, hopefully getting an Abra (or Bellsprout or Oddish)

HeartGold: I have to beat Morty to obtain the badge that will let me surf

White: other than MMing Magikarp (95 eggs), nothing really going on

Black: dont have it yet, but when i do, i will be SRing Snivy

Congrats to everyone who got shinies! Especially Weber, who was really fun to race and because he had so many SRs that he really should have gotten more shinies for that amount o.o

I took a little break after 510 Eevee eggs and hatched 180 Caterpie. Shiny Butterfree is so incredible. I must have it. After I hatch 360 Caterpie in total I'm going to switch back to Eevee because I don't want to keep my friend waiting for so long xD

Omfg!!!!! My 2 month drought is finally over a shiny deoxy appear early in the game on LG 1 at 1357 soft reset!!!!!!!!!!!! But it semi-legit because I use masterball and birth island cheat because I want get shiny deoxy early in the game.

dont quote me here, cause i may be wrong, but i dont believe you can reset for those types when they are with the Mailman.

also, you ARE allowed to post chained shinies (dont kill me, G). at least a third of mine are actually chained.

@Keruso- I wondered about that, my thoughts were that since you can still SR for nature you could get a shiny too, but thinking about it that's not very solid logic at all- you could probably SR for good natures with the always-shiny-by-default dog trio. Also Google seems to be agreeing with you for the most part.
No matter, I had only just started so I haven't exactly wasted my life! I guess this means I've got to return to my Heatran hunt I put on hiatus forever ago.

My first shiny (Flaafy, now an Ampharos) was chained, and it took me god knows how long to get it, but I do now understand why people say it's a little too easy- I got a Surskit yesterday after not using the PR for ages, then today I got a Swellow. Damn they cost me a lot with repels though.
