3DS & Wii Pokémon games in development

    (Sorry if this isn't allowed, didn't think it fitted in any other section - please move if necessary)

    Nintendo has confirmed that it is working on a new Pokemon 3DS product.

    Satoru Iwata announced the news to investors in Japan yesterday, saying "We are also developing Pokémon related products on the Wii and 3DS."

    However, he had no details to share and added "We will gradually over time inform you of them."

    What do you think they could be? Hopefully not another terrible spin-off game...
     
    *is hoping that the 3DS Pokemon game is another PMD sequel*
    I'm sure that the Wii Pokemon game will probably be the Gale of Darkness equivalent that peoples were talking about earlier. I just hope the 3DS game isn't some crappy spin-off like Trozei. X_x
     
    They probably will be spin off games because this should be in that section. I'm hoping for a Colosseum-like game on the Wii. Don't care about the 3DS games, unless it's main series, but we don't even have English Black and White yet, so it's a safe bet that these games in development atm are spin offs. -tosses thread-
     
    As others have said, it will probably be a handheld spin-off such as PMD or Ranger. Hopefully the Wii game rumors will hold true and we get, yet another
    installment in the Shadow Pokemon Saga. As for the 3DS game, I'm still holding to the somewhat "far away" dream of an R/S or Yellow Remake. I'd consider buying a PMD
    3DS game if it was in actual 3D, however.

    A remake of Ruby/Sapphire is very likely while a Yellow remake is very unlikely. But neither of those will be around for about two years at least.

    I'm all for a Pokémon game that can make good use of 3D models and doesn't recycle a bunch of them from N64 games.

    By saying "far away", I was reffering to the time that we'll wait before the remake comes out. The Yellow remake was kind of an idea that sprouted in my head after I heard the Kanto Champion Remix in B/W.
     
    I'm hoping that the new Wii game is an adventure game,with the Battle Revolution Colosseums as the Battle Frontier for that game.
    I wish they would have the rental Pokemon be used like in Stadium 1 and 2,by making a team combination of your Pokemon with rental Pokemon,but that's what I would like to see again.

    As for the 3DS game,I wouldn't mind seeing a Ruby and Sapphire remake,but in 2D,and be able to use the Black and White Pokemon in Hoenn.
     
    For those of you wanting a RS remake, consider that'd it'd be in the main series and that there is already a sticky for discussion about one in Pokemon Gaming Central.
     
    I dont want a shadow Pokemon game. Am i the only one that thought those games were a waste of potential? Give us a RPG game like the handhelds complete with a starter Pokemon and ways to catch wild pokemon.

    Maybe you are, your point? Their will be a rpg game like the handhelds on 3Ds. b.c its a handheld. its either "Grey" or r/s remake.
    The shadow games, was a nice touch to pokemon i think. never was a fan of the main series anyways.

    it might be a new pmd game for the 3ds. but i dont think it would really be 3D

    Why not? I could see it looking like the Wii versions of PMD:

    I think the first non-spin off game the the 3DS will be a R/S remake, I don't think they plan to have the third game in the B/W series on the 3DS.

    And the spin-off is more likely to be a MD game, we just had the third ranger game not so long ago so why would they make a 4th within months after the 3rd? plus we haven't had a MD in some time now.

    That's true.
    If it turns out to be a R/S remake,I hope we can transfer or at least be able to use early the 5th gen Pokemon.
    I also hope Nintendo will make a third game to with Black and White.
     
    Most likely the games for the 3DS that are in the works will either be the PMD games, I really hope it is c: I will be a happy dragon -rarw-

    Or another terrible game like Trozei/Link. -.- Please god no, or at least make it more challenging.

    For the Wii it'll be the XD Sequel that's been buzzing around. Dear. God. Let. It. Be. Shadow.

    The 3DS will most likely be a MD. We've just had another Ranger, keep in mind.
    The Wii one will hopefully be an XD sequel of some sort. I just hope it has a story and Shadow Pokmon, unlike Battle Revolution...
