Okay, so I decided to check out the competitive Pokemon scene and here is what I have so far.
Changes in Red
Mamoswine - Ice/Ground
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Thick Fat
Moveset:
Stealth Rock
Icicle Crash
Ice Shard
Earthquake
EV: 252 Attack - 252 Speed - 4 Def
Item: Focus Sash
Mamoswine will usually be my lead to set up Stealth Rocks while also being a great mid-game sweeper.
I put in Icicle Crash as it's a Good STAB and Ice Shard for Priority when taking down low hp mons.
Earthquake is also there for another STAB.
(Taken from Smogon)
Jolteon - Electric
Nature: Timid
Ability: Volt Absorb
Moveset:
Substitute
Thunderbolt
Volt Switch
Hidden Power - Ice
EV: 252 SpA - 252 Speed - 4 SpD
Item: Leftovers
Jolteon will serve as a Special Attack Sweeper or a potential Lead due to Volt Switch.
Thunderbolt is a great STAB, no further explanation needed.
Hidden Power Ice is for coverage over ground types.
I'm not sure about what the 4th move will be so I left it blank.
The usual set up for Jolteon.
Scizor - Bug/Steel
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician (Technician)
Moveset:
Roost
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
X-Scissor
EV: 252 Attack - 252 HP - 4 Spe
Item: Scizorite
Scizor is really just here for the mega evolution and I plan switching it when I find a better mon.
Roost is great for keeping it alive and its 250 HP EVs.
Swords Dance and Bullet Punch is nothing special, it'll enable a potential OHKO with priority, especially if Scizor is Mega'd with technician.
X-Scissor for another STAB.
Aegislash - Steel/Ghost
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Stance Change
Moveset:
King's Shield
Sacred Sword/Iron Head
Swords Dance
Shadow Sneak
EV: 252 Attack - 252 HP - 4 Spe
Item: Ring Target/Leftovers
Aegislash is another physical sweeper and the moveset is pretty standard.
King's Shield is important as it's a protect with the ability to lower attack by 2 levels if the move made contact.
I'm still deciding on whether to take Iron Head for the STAB and potential flinch or Sacred Sword to get rid of Normal Types.
Shadow Sneak is STAB and Priority, nothing really to explain.
For the item, I can't decide to take Ring Target as it allows Shadow Sneak to hit Normal Types or Leftovers for sustain when switching in.
Togekiss - Flying/Fairy
Nature: Bold
Ability: Serene Grace
Moveset:
Dazzling Gleam
Thunderwave
Air Slash
Roost
EV: 252 HP - 212 Defense - 44 Speed
Item: Leftovers
Togekiss is my Wall, already boasting a Special Defense of 115 I decided to give it 250 EVs in Defense and a Nature to benefit that. It's also on my team to be able to kill dragons.
Roost and Air Slash are pretty common on Togekiss, reliable healing and a 60% flinch rate.
Thunderwave is for general crippling.
Volcarona - Bug/Fire
Nature: Modest
Ability: Flame Body
Moveset:
Quiver Dance
Fiery Dance
Bug Buzz
Giga Drain
EV: 252 SpA - 252 Spe - 4 HP
Volcarona serves as another Special Attack Sweeper.
Quiver Dance, Fiery Dance and Bug Buzz are a must on all Volcaronas. Serving as a great boost to Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed, a reliable STAB and a 50% chance to increase Special Attack and a Bug type STAB.
Okay that's my team, please help me tweak it, and recommend me anything that may potentially make it a better team.
Thanks.
