A Fire at my school! Aaaahhhh!!

It was 2 days ago.

I got off my bus, as usual, to begin my school day. However, I thought something was fishy when I entered and noticed that the lights in the hallways were on the fritz. At about 9:05 that morning, during first period, the fire alarm went off. I thought that maybe it had something to do with the electrical problem, and as it turns out, it did! Apparently, a furnace overheated and started smoking. Thick smoke came into the gym. We had to stay outside for about a half an hour before it was decided that we would go across the street to a church. We were in there for at least an hour. Finally, my principal said that we would be going home. The firefighters used fans to disperse the smoke. At about 11:00 we were allowed to go back in to get our personal belongings. Then we were to go to our buses. Hectic, eh?

Ouch. This reminds me, earlier this week (maybe last week) the fire alarm went off like 5 minutes before school would start. It was cold and snowing out. A week earlier it went off at the end of the last class of the day. Every time it's a prank. x.x

Sounds interesting. There has never been a fire, or a false fire alarm (only drills) at my school. Luckily, no one at your school has gotten hurt. Very lucky.

We had a fire... I mean 2 fires! at my school this year! And a long fire drill that wasn't fake.

The first fire happened on a bus. It was back in the fall and the field hockey team was returning from a game. Then the bus started to smoke and everyone got off and a fire started! I wasn't there cuz I don't play field hockey... but I heard about it... and it was also on the local news. Nobody got hurt but the only thing lost was one of the girl's college appictions...

The second fire actually happened in the school... but once again... I wasn't there! It happened on a Saturday in January... I think. The only people there were the people in the school play cuz they had rehearsal. The fire happened in the cooking classroom. I'm not sure exactly but the rumor was that the dishwasher exploded and set everything on fire. The whole hallway there was burnt and the lockers were damaged by the water... but school never got cancelled because of the fire... we just couldn't use that hallway...

In the winter we had a strange fire drill. It happened last period but we new it wasn't a test since it happened before the bell rang. It was cold and that was the one day I didn't bring my jacket to chorus! We had to stand outside in the cold. Then fire trucks came but we noticed that the firefighters were just walking back and forth from the school not actually doing anything. The problem happened in the pool... or the pool area at least. I don't remember what happened exactly... something to do with the heater smoking or something. My school had problems...

Well believe me. You wouldn't want a real fire. :P
Some kids in my school got arrested for pulling the fire alarm.
That's what they deserve.

There have been lots of fires at schools in my home city lately... my school had a fire once, no one got hurt.

fire that's your big story? Boy not much try having a bomb treat on your last day of 8th grade...that's one heack of a way to leave middle school.

Yikes. All of those are scary... But, I'm glad that no one was hurt.

One of our local schools apparently had a bomb threat from several of the students. (Over the... TAKS test. O_o) One student's mother recieved a letter from one of them, threatening to kill her son and several other people. He even went into graphic detail on how he was going to murder them. I'm pretty sure that they [the ones who were threatening people] were all arrested. I don't really know much about this yet, but it was creepy. o_o;

ya that's how it hjappened at our school 3 parents got letter from someone saying he was going to blow up our school and the school really dident care....next thing we know 4 hours in 98 degree texas weatherr...bomb squad, fbi, swat, very strange way to end middle school.

That Sucks, it's just like in the beggining of the year at my school. Green House's Chemistry Lab Caught on Fire and the school caught dismissed. This year I got burned by a fire -_-... It sucked But rocked

I never had fire drills really in elementary, and certainly not bomb threats. Nor has my house set fire, but I?m sure it?d be pretty scary. Seems like you?re pretty fortunate though snowangel. ^_^

I've never had a fire at my school, but last semester we had false fire alarms every day at roughly the same time each time. @_@; At least it was warm out at the time - I don't like to think of what it would be like to be standing outside in -20 C wearing just my uniform pullover. ._.;;

Lol, blue. That does sound interesting. At least you ended on an interesting note. My last day of 8th grade/elementary was probably the most boring day of the school year. @_@;;

once there was a kid at our school who, inorder to try to help his friend earn credit, had to make his essay look old...thus he stuck it in the toaster and caused a fire.

also, once, there was a belived finding of anthrax or some dangerous chemical or bomb in the nearby microsoft building...scarry

that reminds me.

one time @ San Juan HS there were fires. The next week, my friends said something about how they set fire at a school.
