4th Gen A G/S Remake?

Status
Not open for further replies.
I doubt it's a new Wii game or Ranger 3, they're making to much of a fuss over it.

Now, don't get me wrong, The Pokemon Company is practically oblivious to what people are asking for, but ignoring all of the fan requests/hype/anticipation for a new G/S remake is impossible. I think they at least somewhat realize that if they get everyone's hopes up like this then announce something stupid like Ranger 3, people are gonna be pissed off.

I don't wanna jinx it and make Ranger 3 actually happen, but I think GSDS is very possible. It's higher than anything else; they didn't make a big announcement like this for Pokemon Ranger 2 or PMD2. That alone makes it more likely to be a major game rather then a spinoff, narrowing it down to two things: A G/S Remake or a 5th Gen game. Now, I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that I'd be satisfyed with either of the two, but I'm prepared for them to let us down and announce Ranger 3 or a new Spinoff.

I cant believe I missed out on such a juicy revelation! I am so excited, this time I have a feeling that it will be GSDS.

From PokeBeach

As reported a few hours ago, Pokemon Sunday's website says that on next Sunday's episode, there will be a major, world-first announcement. This announcement is going to take place during the show's "Pokemon Game Arena" portion, meaning it is related to the Pokemon video games. Obviously, the announcement is pertaining to a new game, since there is nothing "major" left to reveal about Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
At the end of the Pokemon Sunday episode that aired today (it's Sunday in Japan), next week's episode preview showed the cast pointing to two decorations hanging from the ceiling. What were the decorations shown? Gold and silver party balls, which subsequently broke open to release confetti. Obviously, the announcement next week is going to be very special!
Putting together all of the hints we've received over the past year or so, this upcoming Pokemon Sunday announcement, and the gold and silver party balls, it's fairly obvious that a Gold and Silver remake announcement is coming next weekend on the show. There's a small, small chance this announcement has nothing to do with a remake, but that is so unlikely with all of the hints and evidence that it's almost not even worth mentioning. November of this year marks the 10th anniversary of Gold and Silver, so it will be exciting to see these games remade!

With that news I just know its going to be pure plain awesomeness of gs remakes.

Well, if they went as far as having the cast to point at the gold and silver party balls... HMM I WONDER WHAT THAT COULD MEAN. -_-

Yeah... I'd laugh if it isn't a GS remake, have to say, even though that chance is still there. Laugh manically. =D

Yeah, if it wasnt it would be like they are taunting us but either way, new Pokemon is good too.

Doubt its 5th gen. No silhouettes for new Pokemon nothing. And oh I got a good one. Gold and silver balls to match the colors of Mirror B's new costume in his Wii Debut as the main baddie. That was dedicated for you bobandbill. Anyway if it comes out true we have a lot to speculate. Full Kanto? Names? New clothes? Badge case half or all 16? Big badges like DP or small? So many questions so little time.

Guys should keep in mind that it might not be a remake of GSC, rather more of a Johto remake. I don't think they'll go for the same story if they did, because there are now two new generations of Pokemon.

Although RB remake also had two new generations since it was first out, and they fixed that by having it so you couldn't access any Hoenn Pokemon (if I remember correctly) in FR/LG, so if they did remake Johto I doubt you could find any Sinnoh Pokemon in the wild, except for some you get by evolutions like Ambipom and others because DPP are still for the DS and are tradeable from each other, you can just trade it over to each other like how FR/LG was to RSE.

With that said, that's only if Nintendo stays consistent with what they did with RB remake after the new third generation.

=D I wouldn't complain too much if it ended up being Miror B related. (As long as GS remakes followed -_-) Still, if they wanted Miror B they'd have started dancing/moon-walking/backfliping to music while wearing giant afros in honour of the new game - Pokemon DDR: Miror B.

...ANYWAYS...

- Full Kanto - depends on memory space, really - leastways, I'd like to think that they wouldn't be so lazy to not upsize Kanto from GSC.

Names - meh, could be anything. They just might stick to what they used before though?

New Clothes - judging by FR/LG, that's a possibility.

Badges - eh, something I don't care as much as many other questions. Such as music - how would that turn out? I hope it wouldn't get ruined... in fact, there is always the chance that a remake won't be as good as we hoped for (if it happens), but we shall have to wait and see then, shaltn't we? I will at any rate. -_- I'm also wondering about the PokeGear - what features will that have now? How would the Radio work? And the Battle Tower in Crystal - would that stay? Would be (if there is space) see any new places besides Johto and Kanto?

Hmm...IMO, it is more likely that they would stick to more or less the same stuff as GSC, although I wouldn't mind too much if they did something new with it. I gather we will get more info after it is confirmed (if it is). If, say, they reveal that the GSC rival (known as Silver) is in it as well (which we'd probably find out when they get to the character art?), than chances are it'll be mostly the same, I'd guess.

But I think them using the same story is rather probable, actually. But we'll see.

I would be laughing so hard if they pull out of nowhere an extremely hardcore gaming thing and made a GS remake but wait for it made it more of a prequel for DPPt. Like it would be the same but it would tie in a lot with it. Why I would laugh though I do not know cause you know it seems very possible. Anyway Gold with his rebel like self wearing shorts will be awesome. Silver better have his emo look though and his black jacket. Music I think with the DS' superiorness to the gba I doubt the music will muck up. Think Giratina battle music. Put such awesome time and work into all the GS songs(especially lance and the kanto gym battle music <3) and I can see this being great.

Well this article I read said that another hint on a GSC remake is that Paul, the current DPP Anime Rival resembles Silver and could be him. Because as far as I know no one in the Anime keep their Manga counterparts name. (Red > Ash, Green > Gary etc,). Dawn I'm not sure about, but yeah.

I'm also thinking the reason to go back to Johto in the anime would be because of a new Battle Frontier in Johto. Which would give Ash a reason to travel back there and give Gamefreaks more time to develop new games after they release the hoped for GSC Remake. Also to quote Bulbapedia:
"Finally, in Lost Leader Strategy!, Reggie's badges are shown to the camera, scrolling across from Kanto to Hoenn to Sinnoh to Johto. If the camera were to go generation-wise, Johto would come between Kanto and Hoenn. Based upon this fact, the camera goes according to recent games: FireRed and LeafGreen for Kanto, Emerald for Hoenn, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum for Sinnoh, and then Johto-based games would come."

So yeah just more reasons I'm sure you all know why a GSC or possible Johto remake should come into play eventually.

One problem is though that the GS music was in the beep form... so it's not that straight-forward as merely using real instruments instead - takes a good deal of effort. Also, I do feel that the music was one of the many high points of GSC - it simply fitted in so well and all, giving it an enjoyable atmosphere and so forth (and darn some tunes were catchy), so even if the new music is good, it might not create the same feel or atmosphere as the old music did, which isn't easy to do. Hopefully though it'll turn out good.

Well... Paul is similar to Silver only in personality - the two however look quite different. Also, Paul is anime-only - Silver was actually in the games (and also the manga, and maybe even one Anime episode, apparently, as a cameo). Doubt it'd be Paul...but who knows? IMO though, Silver keeping his name is more likely an outcome than Paul being in (unless for some reason they do change the story, and decide to incorperate anime-elements like Paul - which wasn't done ever since Yellow, which was done to capitalise on the huge success the Pokemon show had then.

I doubt paul would be put in game. Anyway a post of WPM master of pokebeach.

If only people had common sense. That's why I like Judge Judy so much. If we were in court she'd scream at the people saying it's not about a remake and tell them to PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER!

I'm not going to even bother arguing with anyone. I know how Pokemon works, I know how they plan things and hint at things, and I know there will be something pertaining to a GS game on Sunday.

A big announcement on Sunday with gold and silver balls shown. A lack of GS Pokemon in recent sets. The Johto starters, of all things, thrown into a 4th generation movie. Use your freakin' heads. Pokemon is all about marketing and this is how they work. It's okay to be a skeptical person. I'm one too. But when a company that has followed certain patterns for so many years is throwing such obvious hints at you, you should try to be skeptical about WHY they are doing it.

So yeah. I have to say he has a point. But lets just stick tuned and find out.

Actually I think Paul and Silver look very similar, for manga/anime counterparts. In fact the "stock art for Paul shows him in the same pose as Silver in Ken Sugimori's concept art for the character."

I only referred to Paul because the Manga/Game versions of characters usually appear in the Anime, and if Ash and co. do however travel to Johto, then Paul might also go as a protagonist in some way. I'm not saying Paul would be in the game, I'm saying he's a piece of possible evidence for a remake of Johto.

Eh, still is different enough for me. (Heck, no red hair for one). If one wants to take stuff in FR/LG as well in which someone mentions that Giovanni's 'kid' has red hair, and the widely-believed notion that they are referring to the GSC rival as well... but meh. The anime =/= games card still remains though for starters. =P

And it might be evidence... but I do doubt it - either that, or see it as very minor stuff. Certainly there was very little about it when Paul was introduced. We shall see, though.

Oh yeah. That I forgot about. The red hair lol I'm a bit color blind so I never really notice the colors. But yeah, you're right we'll only see! In one week I can't wait!

Also I haven't watched much of the Anime, but him among many other little things makes up why I think the GSC will be remade.

But with Pokemon games nowadays I have one big BIG pet peeve. Almost the entire story carries your hand through the entire game. Unlike in past games like RBY and GSC which I loved because they never forced you to do anything really unless you chose to start the event first by either entering a building and finding something, or etc. In Hoenn and Sinnoh they grab you by the hand and force you through some story. Which as I said, dislike. So I hope they keep the old format of being able to explore more and story less and I'll be happy whether they make a remake or not.

Either way I can't wait until next Sunday!

Indeed - that is one advantage that GSC had over some other games, IMO - the fact that it wasn't linear completely. Heh, the first time I played it I went all the way to Blackthorn Town before Olivine City XD. And in Kanto one had a lot of freedom as well.

One might argue that the 'dumbing down' of Pokemon games has been evident in many other game series as well though.

If this is true, I am sooo importing the games from Japan!

Something had better come from this. Gamefreak have been messing with our heads enough about it.

I'm really sure it could jsut possible be a new Pokemon GS remake, and if it was then I say to expect it to be released in November, the marking of it's 10 year anniversary xD

If it had to be a spin off, I'd rather not get a PBR or PR3, but a Pokémon Contest Coordinator Spin Off game =D That would be pretty cool, but I highly doubt there will be a 5th gen game, because there haven't been any new sightings og this yet. My hands point to the game that brought in so many more Pokemon Fans, a GSDS remake, but this time revamped!!!
