Well bulbagarden updated comfirming that it will in fact be a G/S remake.

So what do you think?

What I'm wondering is WHAT TOOK SO LONG.

What do you think will be in it, do you think they purposely placed it after the 4th Gen so all Pokemon could be captured? Do you think there will be a future Shaymin Event? We are all dying to know.

I compliment the names, they aren't bad at all. "Heart Gold" and "Soul Silver." I'm going to be quite interested in gaining more news about this game. Fall 2009 makes sense, and I pretty much guessed it would have been around that time.
 
It has to be true, two sources plus the update on Bulbagarden. Also the person who posted that is a Mod and I'm sure he wouldnt advertise a false banner for attention or anything otherwise he could get in trouble.

I knew this couldn't be kept under hiding for long. Those titles sound really kewl too. Soul Silver rolls off the tongue, but Heart Gold? That kinda sounds a little like Heart of gold, or Pot of Gold.

In any case, I can't wait for Saturday for the confirmation!

No one would ever believe how thrilled I am to see this confirmation before my eyes at last. I was hoping for the longest time that all these hints were going to lead up to 2nd-gen remakes... and here it is, straight from the official Japanese Pokemon site. Gold/Silver Remakes are on their way.

(I'm guessing that you will be able to play as the female character in these remakes... as you are able to choose to play as a female character in the Red/Blue remakes.)
