For the longest time, the only alcohol I'd really touch were fruity vodka coolers. Even then, I preferred the sweet fizziness over the alcohol taste. Plus, I could never drink them fast enough so they'd just get warm and taste gross after a while. The other week, though, I finally developed a taste for beer. I only like a few types but it's a start and beer is much easier to knock back than drinks of a higher alcohol content. Only drawback is, I get a looot tipsier from beer and I was actually drunk for the first time a few weeks back for two nights in a row. (I may have developed my taste for beer when it was free for me at a music festival--free is cheaper than the $2 water so I wasn't exactly careful either night. :P) I absolutely hated being drunk so beer probably isn't a thing that will happen often.
That said, I don't drink often at all. My friends tend to really like getting wasted at parties now that we're all well over the drinking age, I guess, but that's really, really not my thing and I know that for sure now that I've actually been drunk too. :( Plus, I take sleeping pills every night and I'm not supposed to mix alcohol with them at all. I have a bit in the last few weeks since I do sleep better after having even just one beer (whoops) but it's not a habit I want to get into and generally, it means I can't drink at all after like 3pm and drinking before then is kind of lame unless it's with lunch.
