Hey everyone. Just finished playing Pokemon Moon and enjoying everything about it. Now that I'm the 'Champion' I want to build a better team. I'm not going competitive, yet. This is more of me battling online and putting up a good fight. Here is what I had on my old team.

    Decidueye

    Toucannon

    Vikavolt

    Mudsdale

    Salazzle

    Ninetales

I would like to keep Decidueye on this new team as my physical attacker, but I would like a special attacker, a tank, and a prankster user as well. Any ideas? Thanks

A tank I'd recommend Aqaruanid. Water/Bug which seems to be two types that you haven't already got on your team which is a good start! From personal experience, Araquanid is arguably one of the best tanks in Alola with some great defenses and an awesome ability (Water Bubble) that boosts Water-type moves.

Special Attacker I'd recommend sticking with Salazzle. She has a great Sp. Atk base stat and is one of the fastest new Pokémon in Sun & Moon. That's something that's crucial considering how a lot of the new Pokémon are pretty slow. Salazzle can also learn quite a few great special based moves which is another good thing about using her. If you use these two then you'll at least have the Fire, Grass, and Water-type coverage.

Finally, for a Prankster Pokémon, there aren't any new Pokémon with this ability so I'd just recommend using an older mon such as Klefki or Whimsicott. Those two are probably your best bet when it comes to Prankster. Or perhaps Sableye.

I know Salazzle is a great special attacker, and she is great on my team, but I want to make her better. Meaning, what is the best nature on her, good EV spread and the best moves. That's what I have in mind at least.

Agree with Blue on Araquanid. Insanely bulky and powerful by virtue of it's ability, Water Bubble. Immune to burns, doubles power of Water moves, resistant to Fire? All brilliant. I was using an Araquanid during the Battle Tower and a Liquidation -> Hydro Vortex usually OHKO'd anything that didn't resist it.

Yes! I heard that Aqaruanid is a good tank ( Scary how big it is!). What nature, EV spread and move would you recommend? Same with Salazzle. I think I'll try Whimsicott, and see how that goes. Thanks!

Getting good vibes for Araquanid. Thanks.

For defense purposes, I'd suggest having Relaxed nature with an EV spread 252 HP/ 252 Def / 4 Spd. There's a few options for the moveset but the moves that helped me out the most were Lunge, Liquidation, Leech Life and Toxic (or Crunch).

For Salazzle you basically want to run it Timid with max Speed and SpA. For moves use its STABs (Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Sludge Bomb/Sludge Wave), Nasty Plot, and Dragon Pulse. Its movepool is rather lacking in coverage so some things may end up being troublesome for it, but that set-up should be alright for it.

Thanks! I'll try to get on this as fast as I can. What item would you recommend? I know she has a 4X weakness to ground, would a focus sash work? Any other Pokemon you can recommend? Again thanks!

Thanks! This sounds like a good setup. Any items I should put on it? Any other Pokemon you can recommend? Again thank you so much.

Focus Sash would probably be alright yeah. Life Orb is a possibility too to get even more power. Maaaaaaaybe Air Balloon.

Pokemon recommendations as alternatives to Salazzle, or as partners for Salazzle?

Oh, btw, you can quote multiple people in a single post instead of making separate posts. You should see on the bottom right of every post a multiquote button--should look like a plus sign or a quotation mark with a plus sign or something like that. Click that for each one you want to quote except for the last one, which you just hit the regular quote button for. jsyk

I can also warn this planned team will have a bad time against Rock-types. Not good when you consider one of the Elite Four is a certain Rock-type user Kahuna.

Assault Vest would be best fit for Araquanid, but if you haven't got access to that then just go with Leftovers.

Yeah I know it has a great weakness to Rock types. What would be good replacement s for Toucannon and Ninetales if you have any ideas it is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I might go with Focus Sash. I'm not a big fan of Air Balloon cause one hit and you're done for. I was thinking partner s for Salazzle, that would be helpful. Sorry about that. Just haven't been on this site for months and everything changed! But thanks for the tip, I'll try to use it more.

Thanks again! This is a big help!

Mudsdale is my favorite mon this gen. This is the set I ran for a local play.

    Mudsdale with Stamina
    Naughty
    Life Orb
252 HP/252 Attack/4 Sp. Def, just to boost it a tad bit more.
    Earthquake for STAB
Heavy Slam, because it's a pretty heavy mon in general. I can usually get KO's from it.
Superpower, it doesn't hurt its attack too terrible since it's already fantastic.
Iron Defense, just to use when it switches in.

Jolly is also good, but this is pretty much the best set I have found that works. Its movepool isn't extremely diverse, but it can hit very hard.

Thanks! Mudsdale has save me a ton in the Battle Tree, so it's slowly becoming one of my favorite. I'll try this set and see how it goes. Again Thanks!

After much consideration, I think I am going to toss off Decidueye off this team. I like him and all, but he just has too many weakness and I hate seeing him knocked out. So know I am looking for another special attacker, a healer, and maybe a supporter as well. They don't need to be from Alola, but anything you come up with is a big help. Thanks.

Ooooh a salazzle with fake out and belch would be awsome. GL with that though. 50 hours later only 10 female have been bred and none have a good nature =P.

comfy has a neat party healing ability. Alomola can get nasty with tanking and healing too.

Hey! I've already was able to bread a female twice with the nature I wanted. How hard would it be a third time? But thanks.
