An ideal team

Hey man, i think we all wish pokemon were real lol. Quite a interesting set though. May i ask why the nostalgia for lickitung? A very odd pick
It was my first card from Burger King way back in the day. The first one I got myself, anyway (pestered a classmate for a Butterfree prior to that). I remember keeping it in the front of my card album and writing a short story starring Lickitung for an assignment.

The idea of "favorite Pokémon" didn't really occur to me back then, but I think it's fairly safe to say that Lickitung was my original favorite.

Welp, e're we go!
Shiny Mega Gallade (gotta be shiny it's my fav pokemon and shiny pokemon)
Blaziken (possibly mega if i don't mega evolve my gallade, also best gen 3 starter for me)
Metagross (Cause it is epic)
Greninja (Even though it is the weakest, it's my favorite of the gen 6 starters, although unpopular opinion, it has the worst shiny, just cause chesnaught and delphox's are amazing, all 3 have phenomenal shiny's though)
Vikavolt (It's one of if not my favorite Gen 7 Pokemon, plus it has a good shiny)
Glaceon (It's my favorite eeveelution, although it has a bad shiny, almost as bad as garchomp)

And that was my team!

I'll probably change my mind again later, but I gave some more thought to my ideal in-game team and came up with this. Felt that it was more important to base my choices on individuals I feel I have the closest bond with rather than general favorites.

Dunsparce (Noko): I've been restricting myself to full-odds Shinies lately, but Noko's the reason I consider Shiny Dunsparce my mascot. It was my first intentionally hunted Shiny (Poké Radar) and used throughout my first playthrough of HeartGold. I got a full-odds one in more recent years, but I'm not quite as attached to it as I am to Noko.

Glaceon (Endymion): Another non-full-odds Shiny I've been avoiding. It was my MVP in Black 2 where I MM'd it after only 8 eggs.

Mothim (Tael): My most tedious Shiny hunt and possibly most prized Shiny

Flareon (Chipotle): Probably my most surprising Shiny. Randomly found while searching for a rainy route to evolve my Sliggoo in X just before taking on the E4.

Porygon2 (Codec): The oldest Shiny I still have. Accidentally SR'd in Platinum while trying for a certain nature, and after less than a dozen resets. It even turned out to be a square Shiny when transferred to SWSH, making it my "rarest" Shiny (that I've transferred, anyway).

Corsola (Seaglass): Another one of my most prized Shinies and one of my aesthetic favorites

There are at least a couple other Pokémon I'd like to squeeze in there. Too bad we can only carry 6. T_T

Whenever I think of an ideal team I think back to this team I have back in gen 6, it was really well rounded and beat out a lot of battles i've had with them.

that team is:
Talonflame (favorite pokemon, acts as my largest source of physical damage)
Venusaur (special wall and toxic stall)
Mega Charizard Y (pseudo sun team go burr)
Espeon (magic bounce is definitely one of the best abilities ever created)
Donphan (physical wall, hazard setter and remover)
Azumarill (fast physical sweeper type pokemon, helps when the suicide bird finally goes down)

I often times build around the idea of each pokemon having roles, while also providing type coverage and so on. Well, unless I want to include a pokemon solely because I like it.
and yes, I use Talonflame even after the nerf.

Okay so I thought really hard about this and decided that I'd do two:

1. First is a team of 2D Champs (Gen 1-5) and I chose one pokemon from each gen that I soloed atleast one elite 4 member plus Kyogre, my favorite legendary for elite 4 battles (Ala sheer cold)

2. The second team is just a team of pokemon i think would be crazy fun to play with on a single team!

My ideal team wouldn't be an ultra-competitive balanced type team, but a team of the six Pokemon I have the strongest attachments to. In that case, it would be:

Sceptile (First ever Pokemon, Solo'ed basically all of Sapphire)

Torterra (My first Level 100 Pokemon, and my first Pokemon to beat a Champion)

Articuno (My main Pokemon in the Blue Rescue Team postgame with maxed IQ, a move that hit every Pokemon in the room, the game-breaking-in-PMD Agility, and a linked Mind Reader+Sheer Cold for instant 1HKOs.)

Giratina (My strongest non-sidegame Pokemon and one of the only Pokemon I've used over multiple games.)

Illumise (My starter during a randomized FireRed run that I used in my first time emulating a game, mostly as a test run.)

Gyarados (My ace during my mono-Flying Red run that got me back into Pokemon after a long absence.)

I should note that these are all specific Pokemon from specific playthroughs. It's impossible to bring more than half of them to the same game, and even then I'd rather leave them in their original games. My dream team couldn't just include any old Gyarados, it would have to be this specific one, for example.

If I had to pick an ideal, non-specific team, it'd be Gourgeist, Chandelure, Mimikyu, Sableye, Drifblim, and Polteageist.

I really enjoy reading through these posts, always love discussions about which Pokemon people would have if they were in the Anime or Pokemon world etc

My Team would be these 6 all of which are Ground type (Tyranitar counts as it's first 2 evolutions are Ground🙃 )

My name would be Gideon

Larvitar would be from an egg which i found inside an abandoned cave in my home town which is up in the mountains (my 1st Pokemon)(Larvitar would refuse to evolve for some reason no matter how many battles it may win or lose, which suits me as i love the look of Larvitar (my favourite looking 1st evolution) even if he had to wear a small everstone knecklace

Swampert would be the pokemon i received from the professor as a Mudkip, Swampert has always been one of my favourite Pokemon

Flygon my main form of transport and would make going up and down the mountainous region much easier when in a hurry aswell as travelling over greater distances

Tyranitar evolved from a Pupitar i caught again in my home town in the mountains

Gabite another pokemon i like the look of and would not evolve as i feel it looks better than Garchomp even if far less powerful

Nidoking evolved from a Nidoran i caught not long after my journey began

All of my team were found/caught either in or around my home town up in the mountains which is called 'Cordillera Town' which is build on a mountain (Cordillera a name given as it means a system of mountain ranges that often consist of a number of more or less parallel chains)

Considering the criteria for this list is anything goes, my team would be...

1. Zekrom
2 Perfect or "Complete Forme(no idea why there's an extra E there)" Zygarde
3. "Origin Forme (still don't know why there's an extra E in there) Jiratina (yes, that is how I pronounce it, what about it?)
4. I hate its default name, but Zacian
5. same with Zamazenta
6. Eternatus

I'd also have an Absol, but more as a pet than for use in battle.
