I'm using Emerald. Haven't made much progress, just caught a Taillow and I'm trying to grind both Treeko and Taillow to lv14. So far Taillow is lv10 and Treeko is lv12.

OK. Since I cant seem to get a Teddiursa, Im going to do a Fire Red Challenge. Im thinking

Registry Form setup:
PC Username: GFA
Character: Gary Oak
Team: Blastoise, Arcanine, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Dodrio (Until I can get Skarmory), Pinsir.
Cheating: Hell no.

Actually, I may have some trouble getting that team to work... Oh well.
 
Update:

I started FireRed. My starting video (including my homemade Richie sprite!!!)

I Got Charmander (Zippo) as starter pokemon.
I delivered Oak's Parcel.
I got my pokéballs.
I caught Happy (Caterpie)
I cheated to meet Rose (Taillow) in the wild, and i caught it.
I grinded Happy to lv. 10 where it became a Butterfree.
My pokémon defeat my rival LilGirl.
I got through Viridian Forest.
I caught Sparky (Pikachu) after a lot of seeking.
My pokémon defeat Brock.
 
Okay update time:
-Got to Jubilife city and met Looker.
-Spoke with dawn again -yawn
-Got the poketech
-Battled Barry who was pretty easy :)
-Battled all the trainers on the way to Oreburgh
-Got the HM rock smash & taught it to Chimchar (my hm slave)
-Found Roark in the mines so he went back to the gym
-Battled the gym trainers
-Battled Roark & beat him quite easily with bulbasaur and his petal dance attack. :D

Team:
Pichu (yes he's still a Pichu! I wish he would hurry up and evolve) level 12
Bulbasaur level 14
Krabby level 13
Mankey level 12
 
Ok here we go!

Started a new game-Watched the boring intro-Said I was a girl named Zoey-Told my Rival's name was Barry-Watched the ending of "The Search for Red Gyarados"-Barry ran into me-He then forgot something-He started stalking me-We went to Lake Verity and saw Lucas and Prof. Rowan-We found Prof. Rowan's Briefcase-A bunch of Stary attacked-I chose Chimchar for 2 reasons: 1. So Barry would have Piplup and 2. Zoey had a Chimchar in a flashback in the anime-Got the Running Shoes-Went to Sandgem Town-Got the Pokedex-Lucas showed me how to catch Pokemon ( I already know how!!!)-Successfully hacked for my Gallade and Mismagius-Arrived at Jubilife City-Delivered the Parcel to Barry-Owned Barry in a battle-Went to Oreburgh Mines to find Roark-Didn't really care to fight the trainers in the Gym-Owned Roark with Gallade's Leaf Blade-Stopped and saved

Gallade-Level 11-Leaf Blade / Night Slash / Teleport / Confusion
Mismagius-Level 5-Astonish / Psywave / Magical Leaf / Lucky Chant

Yeah, not going to happen soon. Just rare candying to level takes until level 30.
 
Since I was out of town last night, most of the time was spent level-grinding three of the Pokemon. It occurred to me that I would need to drop a few Pokemon because Conway was to have a battle with Ash in today's episode, and that he would surely show a few new Pokemon. I was right. So instead of continuing to use Venonat and Dugtrio, I am dropping him in favor of the almighty Dusknoir and Lickilicky. As for Shuckle... well, we can only have five Pokemon, so tough luck.

On the other hand, I'm not exactly sure if I am able to find a Duskull or a Lickitung before tomorrow as I am currently in possession of no Action Replay or Ditto breeding centers. For that reason, unless a small miracle happens concerning SoulSilver and a few certain types of Pokemon, I'm stuck only with Heracross, Aron, and Slowpoke.

On the upside, they're all on Level 10 and I'm waiting for Slowpoke to learn Water Gun. After that, he and Heracross can proceed to wipe the floor with Roark.

Joy of joys, wonder of wonders! Slowpoke finally learned Water Gun - they don't call it Slowpoke for nothing, I suppose - and together he and Heracross are to start pwning Roark. Aron would help too, but her moves are all not very effective against Rock-types. Sorry, hon. Anyway, TEAM TIME!

Entered the Oreburgh Gym, admired the multi-leveled spectacle, and utilized said multi-level spectacle to skip the Trainers.
What? I wanna fight Roark, not his younger cousin who can hardly hold a Pokeball.
Oh look, Roark. Nice hat, buddy! (I gotta wonder why you wear those bizarre visors indoors, though. It's not that bright in here, seriously.)
Conway saved the game!
"Welcome! This is the Oreburgh Pokemon Gy... ooh, an Aron!"
He kicked off with Geodude, I with Slowpoke. Not even bothering to Curse first, I went directly for the Water Gun. Of course, Geodude went first, but he was out by the end of the turn.
Cue Cranidos. Switching Slowpoke for Heracross to get everyone some EXP.
Oh my, look at that. Cranidos breaks molds... that could be bad...
Cranidos Headbutted Heracross and fainted her. Critical hit for the loss.
Gooooooooooo Slooooooooowpoooooooooke!
Super-effective Pursuit. Not cool, man.
Roark and Slowpoke both have a sliver of life left.
Roark heals Cranidos, Slowpoke knocks it back down to the same HP total it had before.
Instead of mowing down Slowpoke, Cranidos Leers at him, letting Slowpoke Water Gun it into oblivion. Good going, Roark! No wonder you're the first Gym Leader! 8D
...or, um, not.
Hey, Slowpoke is level twelve now! Nice.
Roark sends out Onix. Instead of mowing down Slowpoke, AGAIN, it uses Screech.
Slowpoke knocks it down to a sliver of health. He gets Stealth Rock'd, which of course does no damage whatsoever.
Slowpoke Water Guns Onix. Game over, success to the nerd on the left.

Traveled to Jubilife City-Help Lucas pwn two Team Galactic Members( What's with their outfits?!?!)-Traveled to Floroma Town-A little girl said her daddy was in trouble....awwww..poor thing...-Stupid Galactic Grunt told me the location of the other Works Key-Went to Floroma Meadow-Got the Works Key-Cleared Team Galactic out of Valley Windworks (Purugly was trouble)-Caught Shellos-Helped Cheryl get through Eterna Forest-Fought the first trainer in Gardina's Gym-Decided to grind Shellos till it evolves

question- if i were to choose the mega cheap gary oak, could i use the pokemon that he had on his computer when ash looked at his profile in the first series
