Well I am not much of an art critic but I figure reviews of any sort are always nice, so! Consider this a SSSh set of reviews of the more recent images!
...which I must confess were quite enjoyable to see - you certainly have art skills. ^^ I mean, look at this - it's pretty hard not to like an expression like that on nearly anything. XD If anything this is one of my favourites in this thread just because of the smile. It's super-happy. (One feels slightly suspicious of the grovyle though because of it...).
Don't you just love expressions?
And this is pretty cool too - a nice pose, I thought, to draw - it works quite well with this Heatran. The colouring is quit good too - although I do feel the top of Heatran seems a bit too pale to me, otherwise the shading looks pretty much spot-on there. The shadow beneath it also makes it look that more... dramatic I suppose is the word I am looking for?
Also the eyes - I quite like how you do them, particularly here.
Then there's backgrounds - this one is fairly simple compare to others but it fits quite well here with Arceus IMO - the stars are neat to look at what with the glow around them and all (as well as the glow around Arceus too, heh). Again I like the shading here.
And then I saw this picture. ._. Serious skills here, yo. That sure is one impressive scene there - the Pegasus is my favourite part of the picture though as is seems so life-like, and the wings are very nicely detailed despite being cast in shadow too, as well as one of them being mostly off-screen, which I suppose is a complaint of mine - I do feel it would have been neat to have been able to see the whole Pegasus instead of just part of it, personally. The rays of light do seem a bit awkward to me as well (I assume that is what they are anyways) and probably not necessary to the picture - it would have been pretty good without them, imo.
But that's being nitpicky - overall this picture wins. =p The tower is also quite well-detailed and fits in nicely, and the darkened, cloudy sky also seems nicely drawn too there - gives the picture a neat atmosphere. But the shading and use of shadow and detail on the Pegasus wins it for me, simply. =)
And from dramatic epic stuff to cute-rific stuff like this. XD Again, I like the expressions you use for your Pokemon - they just seem to give them a personality, as well as make some of them look rather huggable. XD (I like how one can make out luvdisc in the background as well - a nice touch).
I know Jeff from sppf so I did expect a few grovyle pics like this one. XD Again a neat-looking grin here and overall I quite like the expression it has. The hand/paw of it does strike me as a bit odd-looking I suppose, but on the flipside I like the curvy leaf that is on its head, and the green colouring used fits it rather well, imo (or in other words, your shading skills are pretty cool! Yes I am being a bit repetitive. =p)
This I remember seeing before actually a while back, and it is still one of my favourites - it just looks so peaceful and serene. Again the shading owns, and I have to say my favourite aspect of this picture is the clouds - they certainly look pretty realistic and the colour of them I suppose adds to the whole peaceful feel I got when I saw this again. =) And besides, palm trees are pretty cool too! =D (Points for the extra grass around its base too - it strikes me as another minor but neat touch to the picture).
Are those blades being held or something along those lines? ._. I do like the jacket the person has there, as well as how the hair is drawn and coloured too (and the eyes are again neatly drawn), although the body did strike me as being a bit too curvy there - perhaps a slightly chubbier figure around the ribcage would have fitted better here.
Alex looks pretty darn cool here. XD Another nice expression and all there, and now I seem to want an Alex as a pet. Is there any pet store that has them in stock? ;p I do like how all of the paws and tail are brown like that, reminds me of my dog in a way... [/ramble] I don't think I have much to else to say on this though, besides 'awww' and the such. =p
Again I like how you draw eyes and all (the expression certainly fits the question mark there) - and the scarf is pretty neat too there! I like how there appears to be a bite-mark on it, heh.
You do some pretty good backgrounds, really... nice colouring from that sun there, simply put, and the colours sure do give the image a nice atmosphere there. I'd be happy too if I was that grovyle, heh. The flower is a nice addition too - nicely detailed and pretty in itself too (which almost makes it a pretty-ness overload in a way =p). I do prefer the head-leaf that was in the previous coloured-grovyle drawn to this one though - I guess this one did strike me as a bit too dark in colour compared to the rest and I preferred the shape of the other, but this is a very good piece of art regardless of small things like that. =p
I like the chubby-ness of the torchic there, heh. XD Quite a nice simple take on the Pokemon imo, and the treecko is cool too, what with the expression there, and the hands look well-drawn too, imo, even if it is a relatively simple picture compared to others you have done.
Have to agree with Mizan that I most certainly liked this too. =) The stars in the background are indeed a neat touch (like in that Arceus picture), and the colours are pretty nice to look at as well. I also do have to agree that a weak point in the picture for me are those white paint strokes, but the swirly star-like object at the top is...well, pretty. =) That's my favourite bit of it I suppose, what with the different colours within it and all - it does appear to be moving rather than just being a stationary object.
Umbreon are pretty cool, and shiny ones are even more so, so I already approve of the subject matter here. =p Again the eye is nice (the left one seems a bit too obstructed by the side of the face to me however - I feel it would have been better to show it some more. But the really quite like how the rings glow so (which reminds me of a dex entry of Umbreon and also its Colosseum appearance, heh). There's a fair bit going on in terms of light and shadow/shading there because of it and you did a fine job here despite the multiple light sources, imho. The flower and scarf is also nice, as well as the cave background there as well.
Yaaaay another grovyle-line poke. XD Yet again I shall have to say I like the expression is has, as well as its pose with lying on the rock - it's somewhat like it is angry and relaxing at the same time - certainly an unusual combo of vibes for a picture to give off but it does that well, imo.
And that concludes my rambly reviews - I hope they do the pictures some justice? =p Seriously neat work with them all, and I do believe I will be keeping my eye on this thread too. =p Keep it up with the art-making!
