    Poke'mon has been around for a long time, and the side characters keep changing. However, there are 5 characters who have remained throughout the series... Ash, Pikachu, and the Team Rocket Trio of Jessie James and Meowth. I think it would be cool if Jessie and James left team rocket, and James became a Poke'mon master. Imagine this... It's near the end of the series, and Ash is finally getting close to becoming a Poke'mon master. He faces all sorts of different challenges, and one of his last would be to face the current grand champion... James. After not being in the anime very much for a while James would reappear as a true Poke'mon master, and Ash would have to face him to achieve his ultimate goal muahaha.

    As cool as it may sound, I just don't see James becoming Champion, not when he (or the others) can't even capture a Pikachu.

    Even so, there are so many other better possibilities of someone being this so called "Grand Champion" in your theory.

    I agree whit mew~. They can't catch a pikachu our other pokemons, they can't be a master!

    There was that Chronicles episode were they nearly lived in a village they protected until they accidently 'blasted off again'.

    I always thought it would have been nice if they had stayed there.

    I just want them to stay Team Rocket agents for ever and ever, so I wouldn't like to see that. James is relatively weak anyway, so he couldn't make a good opponent :P.

    I think that Jessie and James will quit Team Rocket once they realize what Giovanni really thinks of them (worthless). After that, they might change their ways and pop up on occasion to be with Ash.

    It is intresting how Ash and his enemies have been the only ones who have stayed the entire series. What I'd like to see though, is James still be on Team Rocket but collect gym badges like Ash does, than they'd be rivals.

    I don't see any scenario where James is the champ of anything outside of some minor competition. I have seen absolutely nothing from James that proves he is any where never the level of say somebody like Lance or Cynthia. That being said it would be nice for TR Trio to do something and go off but I don't know how realistic that may be.

    @Fezao
    I am not sure I follow. If you are saying why doesn't Ash achieve his ultimate goal is probably cause they want to milk(market) Ash and Pikachu for as long as they can. But anyways the anime has nothing to do with Red. Ash and Red are completely different people. Red is based in the games and manga.

    Everyone going "James is too weak to be Champion!".. how sad. XD;

    I think that if James really wanted to go out on his own, train enough, and beat the Elite 4 that he could do it. Technically, any of the characters could. The idea of it is pretty cool, actually. It'd be an interesting twist if that happened towards the end of the anime. Not that I think it's the best route for the show to take, but I wouldn't complain if it happened. James is a neat character, and I think that if he weren't on Team Rocket, he could be a better trainer.

    I don't think Pokemon battling is James' thing. He's too gentle, plus he's more into bottle caps, robots and ballet lmao XD. Anyway, what would they do with Jessie if James became super powerful? Would she just be left as a cheerleader? That'd be awkward!

    I'd prefer to see Silver as Ash's ultimate rival. Since Giovanni is still a central character in the show, it wouldn't be too late to include his son in it.

    My point was that James would be off training, and growing stronger. James' pokemon always have a strong bond to him, and he is actually a very capable trainer when his heart is in the right place. I don't think James would really be a popular choice as the final challenge, but maybe he could be a very strong opponent just a little farther down the list. I would really like to see him vs Ash, where Ash thinks it's going to be another easy win, and James kicks his butt. It would teach Ash a lesson, and help him grow as a trainer.

    As for Jessie, she can keep pursuing her contests. She has won a few already, so she is obviously talented at it.

    Meowth... well I'm stuck on where that puts Meowth. Maybe he could keep on trying to catch Pikachu on his own, and turn good at the very end of the series. IDK though, seems like there could be a better idea for Meowth.

    Either way, I just hate seeing trainers not making significant progress from season to season, and I think it's about time for James to make a name for himself.

    Maybe he could even bring back Weezing, it would be cool to see Weezing win for once lol.

    I'm still reeling from the fact Misty left

    I would think Jessie would be a better candidate for being a Champion than James. While I wouldn't ask either of them to see their thesis on anything, Jessie is definitely the smarter of the two... James is always half a step behind.

    Jessie and James are the comedy reliefs for the show even though they are the bad guys... they're both funny but James is more hilarious than Jessie.

    I always liked James. That idea is epic! I always thought of the same thing!
    I always envisioned James with a Venusaur... That'd be cool...

    That would be cool. I also think it would be awesome if he returned for his mistreated Gyarados. If he had only just used his pokeball to call it back when it evolved lol. He could also use his trusty pal Growlie.

    Sorry, but i don't really like the idea. What i would like is for the Trio to be promoted even higher then they just did, and become admins (higher admins, like operatives, or super trainers), and maybe get a good team. They've been at it a long time, and even the noobiest of noobs would've gotten the hang of pokemon training by now !!

    Well for Ash that much is known how he is main star of this show with whole plot revolving around him so his long stay isn't surprising.Pikachu is mascot of pokemon franchize and trio of Jessie,James and Meowth served role as antagonists toward main protagonist acting as obstacles on Ash's journey.

    If anything Team Rocket current role in BW being more of a threat as villains being accompanied with Giovanni's return indicates how they might likely leave at end of Unova with whole rocket organization getting disbanded.
    Surely its still too early to tell because those three have been part of show for 13 years already and could stay past BW too but than again Brock was long lived character too and he still got axed.I guess time will tell.

    Suggestion of James becoming pokemon master sounds like forced attempt to keep him relevant to this show if you ask me.For start he has several issues with lack of confidence with his type of character not being suitable for it .Sure there were few references but if anything this series showed us was fact of his character not being sure what to do with his own life trying to find himself with his current role in Unova making it seem like he finally along with Jessie become what he wanted.Turning him in some sort of champion would be completely OOC making it look like bad writing.

    I wouldn't mind though if he was kept after TR gets disbanded to find "new calling" taking up some role which would fit more his character like competitions along the line of poke-ringer.Similar to how Jessie did contests going along with characterization,but to turn James in regular trainer doesn't make much sense with his character not being suitable for it.

    I'm still reeling from the fact Misty left

    What bothered me when Misty left was because i feel she didn't got enough focus during her run having untapped potential to do more.That and her send off was little unoriginal having cliffhanger touch to it(with story being left hanging in the air as hoso showed with character taking care of something because of feeling its his responsibility,not because he wanted).Though from emotional aspect it was one of best ones.

    I can see writers maybe deciding to bring her for last season along with Brock with attempt of reuniting original trio to finish pokemon series with group which started it.I suppose this would please many older fans with things coming full circle.

    Though i wouldn't hold my breath over it.

    when Jessie did the contest thing James and Meowth were her cheerleaders, so why not?
