4th Gen Anyone else think it's dumb that Phione can't compete in Battle Frontier?

I was surprised to see that I couldn't enter my Phione into the Battle Frontier. But why is that? It's base stats really aren't that high, and they let Pokemon with higher base stat totals compete, like Tyranitar and Dragonite. Why is a Pokemon with a base stat total of only 480 banned from Battle Frontier??

Because it is considered by many to be a legendary Pokemon. And, of course, legendary Pokemon may not enter Battle facilities. It is also tied with Manaphy (a legendary), as they are the sea guardians and Phione is only obtainable by breeding Manaphy.

I can see your point about Phione not being allowed in. I mean, I'm pretty sure there are tons of Pokemon who are better overall. However like mentioned before, it's still a legendary. And legendaries would probably be considered an unfair advantage since they'd blow the roof off of every team with one move. As unfair as it sounds, that's just the way things go. :I

I think it's a pretty pathetic Pokemon, but when you're born from the Prince of the Sea, what do you expect?

Some legendaries were banned, but not all. I remember using Uxie once at Battle Hall in Pokémon Platinum, and nobody's stopped me. d: Not sure why they had to ban Phione, though. Its stats aren't that high, and it doesn't have access to that many moves, either. With just one or two Thunderbolts, it could be taken down in an instant.

Well Phione sucks (Base stat wise) so I think its generally a blessing that it isn't able to compete xD

It's kinda weird how they did it actually. None of the legendary birds, legendary beasts, legendary golems, or the lake trio is banned. All of the have much better stats than Phione. Phione's stats are really average at best.
