if everything else is "pokémon" why is "human" a different category? irl humans are animals yeah? so they must be pokémon. what type are they? i think we could call it human type, and it's got strange interactions with others- the anime evidences that humans are not particularly weak to any type energy and in fact seem to be resistant to them all (or most), but are incredibly susceptible to status moves. does that track? and the question that actually spurred this thread on: can a pokemon and a human make an egg?

this confirms the Mr. Mime being Ash's dad meme.

This also raises the question of the status of plants and fungi in the Pokemon world when you consider how many Pokemon are just plants and fungus.

Tbh Mr.Mime is the only evidence that it's a yes lel

hm this is true. what is grass? is grass pokémon? is tree?

Why do you ask these questions why do you make me question my existence?

If humans in the real world are a species of animal, then I'd assume humans in the Pokemon world would be considered a type of Pokemon, too. Keep in mind that Diamond/Pearl did have that book in the library abt Pokemon and people being virtually identical.

I'm going to say no. Based on the Pocket Monsters: The Animation novelization, Pokémon, animals, and humans are each their own thing. However, some Pokédex entries suggest that humans can become Pokémon (like a boy with psychic powers turning into Kadabra).
