I'm playing as the male character, and I'm female.
I'm just way too attached to him. Seeing him running around Johto reminds me of my first playthrough of Silver, way back when. So I had to pick him and give him the same name.
I'm currently playing as a male, for several reasons.
1) I'm kind of playing it like I would've played Gold, back when I still had it. Back then, there was only a male trainer.
2) I'm almost always the female trainer, so playing the opposite is a refreshing change of pace.
3) I honestly like the male trainer's design better. *shrug*
I'm a guy, but I play through each game as a different gender. I also always flip the gender when I restart a game. I decided to pick the female in soulsilver, and I'll probably pick the guy when I get heartgold, just to keep it varied.
I chose the male when I played SoulSilver because I hated Kotone's dumb hat. But after playing through the game, Kotone's design grew on me, so I picked the girl when I got HeartGold. XD (I usually play as the female player because I generally hate the male's design. xD This was an odd reversal at first. Kotone still has a dumb hat though.)
I'm a female, but I've always played as the male.
I prefer the male character designs, personally.
Also, I have a tendency to name my characters something besides my name (almost always).
Anyone else do this?
I went with the girl. Made my choice out of combined opinions over how many Pickup Pokemon are cute, how many 'sprites' are cuter than the 'Pokemon itself', and the idea of a Slowpoke behind me.
I chose the female character, simply because I wanted to try out a brand-new character with cute-looking sprites and an overall nice design, and because I got SoulSilver. I'll choose the male character when I get HeartGold.
And the female character looks a lot better with Pokémon following her O__o
Well, I'm not able to play since my DSi had to...get sent off to nintendo to be repaired...
But once I get it back, I plan on chosing the male character(even though I'm female)...
Ever since they put a Female Character in Crystal I have been one since. I was so happy when they did that, I literally jumped up and down when I heard about it.
I choose male almost every time, Soul Silver included.
I'll only choose girl if I like the sprite, and so I've only played as a girl once as May in Sapphire.
I don't really like Lyra, kinda annoying to me.
