I know but I never heard of anyone ever cosnidering it a starter being that you are forced to use it unlike the likes of the 3 others in the main series games.
 
I really fail to understand the need for discussion on whether Pikachu is a Starter or not.

Is Pokemon Yellow an official Pokemon Game? - Yes

Is Pikachu the First Pokemon you receive in Pokemon Yellow? - Yes

Does "Starter" refer to the first Pokemon you receive in a Pokemon Game - Yes

I think that answers the question.

8. Chespin: I like Chespin, but the rest of its evolutionary is a bit meh

To answer your question, yes you should include Sun & Moon Starters.
 
Sounds interesting:D I personally prefer the firy type starters because fire is my favorite typing, but there are also other starters which I like to use, so here is my list:

Next to my favorite fire types, Mudkip and Treeko are definitely my favorites of Gen 3 because they both have really cool evolutions so I could never really choose between them when playing Emerald. Although Squirtle was my ever first starter in the blue version, Charzard just makes this list because it´s freaking and made a good teammate in the 2015 metagame, just like Venusaur. For the others are either just fun to play with or I haven´t played them at all in the games which is why they are either top 10 or the back of the list.

Coming back to Sun & Moon Starters, I think some more details about Sun & Moon were supposed to be released on April 15th, including info on the Starters. Well its 17th today, so does anyone know of any details yet?

I'll just explain my favorite and least favorite starter choices -

Treecko - Although Emerald wasn't the first Pokemon game I ever played, it was the first that really got me captivated by the franchise and quite possibly the reason I still play the games today, I spent countless hours exploring the seas and mountains of Hoenn and I'll never forget my trusty Treecko that I began my journey with - even though as a Sceptile he was lost due to a glitch within the duplication glitch that caused me to lose boxes and boxes of Pokemon.

Chespin - I quite like the other two Kalos starters but Chespin and it's whole evolutionary line are just awful.

Squirtle is definitely my favorite, always loved it since I was a kid and picked it in the Kanto games all the time. The other ones were hard to put in order since there really isn't any starter I dislike, I put the ones with cooler designs or that I've used the most on top. Charmander is a pretty low because, despite having a really cool design, I find it really overrated and I rarely feel like using it. The Unova starters are the most forgettable, Oshawott was pretty cool until his last evolution, which was kind of a disappointment to me, but I really like Tepig for some reason and it was the first one I picked, probably the first time fire was my first choice. Pikachu is last because I don't find it cool as a starter, not being able to evolve and all that, and it really doesn't have a lot of significance to me, I prefer the way less loved Raichu. Overall Water starters are generally the ones I pick first and like the most, for Grass starters it really depends on the design they have in said generation and Fire starters are always my last choice, probably because they get too much love already and I don't really understand the hype around them, but I still love them all in some way.
