Is there anyone here who knows ASMR? Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response
You can google it if you don't.

There is plenty of ASMR video on Youtube. Have you tried some? Does it work?

I can totally see why some love it, and some hate it. I agree some are... awkward. It might be weird sometimes... But I feel so much relax when I listen to some (really, some. I know which one I like and which one I don't like. Too much awkward, or the sound isn't enjoyable).

The sounds they tries to make and the movement in the video ar to trigger what they call Tickles. I don't have those. I just feel like I can fall asleep anytime and really zone out, like I feel when someone whisper, or when someone turn some pages from a book in front of me.

SO guys, anyone familial with this?

The only ASMR I know of is anime figure unboxing. Don't know why this person stopped making videos of these. But here's an example.

    Those actually make me sleepy

I don't get why this is supposed to work. I can get "the feels" from music, but it's music that I specifically like and I don't expect it will have the same effect on other people. The idea that some music can just do this because there's some quality to it seems kinda unrealistic.

    That's called frisson.

I sometimes get ASMR, but I mostly listen to the videos for relaxation/to get to sleep.

A few of my favorites ASMRtists are...
Chycho - He does some math-related videos, more recently getting into other topics. Really calm and chill dude. Probably smokes tons of weed.

ARDRA - She's a weird chick, but in a good way. Calming voice. Probably could hypnotize you into robbing a bank.

m j murcott - This guy does "unintentional" ASMR, which means he isn't purposefully making these to be for ASMR. He just posts random informational videos, but they're usually great/informational as well.

I like a few others, but they're either inactive or rarely post.

This one does work for me! thanks.
And as I said, when it works for me it's just when I instantly feel super relax and sleepy even if I wasn't sleepy before. When I'm stressing out it does help me. At least, some video. I know some sounds I can't stand, like mouth's sound, eating, slime...

    My favorites are

    Heather Feather

    RaffyTaphyASMR

I can't show you more, I slept 2 hours last night and now going thru ASMR video, my eyes are closing.... I see double...

    That's called frisson.

The descriptions on wikipedia of that ("the skin of the lower back flexes, and shivers rise upward and inward from the shoulders, up the neck, and may extend to the cheeks and scalp") versus ASMR ("static-like tingling sensation on the skin ... begins 'on the scalp' before moving 'down the spine' to the base of the neck, sometimes spreading 'to the back, arms and legs as intensity increases'") make them seem like they're the exact same thing.

i cannot do it. they just make me unsettled. i dont get the hype behind it its pretty creepy to me

there was a video of a man playing with coffee beans for two hours but that particular video didn't do much for me tbh.

Frisson is like an intense shiver, whereas ASMR is a consistent tingle but isn't immediately intense/strong. I've felt them both, but I get the intense shiver sometimes when things brush my neck weirdly and it's extremely brief for me.

ASMR does pretty much nothing for me. Listened to a fair few excerpts and videos but... nope. I get frissons all the time, however, especially when listening to certain songs. They're all kinds of great when they happen! Make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Some creeps me out too hahahah omg there is so many weird stuff on the internet. and some youtubers (ASMR ones) you.. get in my comfy bubble and look at me straight in the eyes with a creepy look XD

But when I fell "comfortable" in the video I zone out so much. Like I said, I don't get tingles (I got it once. It was... something. but after I felt that, I can say I don't usually have it). But I zone out so much, there is one video where the woman said something and the second before I was totally fine, the second after my eyes were closed and I had the spasm in my leg hahaha

But yeah, because of the creepy looks of some video I don't watch ASMR in public.
