Assembly Required [DIY Toy Hobbies Club]

where to start... Been mainly doing LEGO C&C Red Alert 2 builds recently and it's been a blast.
Still debating if I want to add walls or not for a final setup, could be a tad expensive :'D

omg Lego C&C stuff
I see an Allied Refinery, Barracks, Chronosphere, gap generator, battle lab, power plant, the base defences and what I think is the Construction Yard =D
These look nice and very fun =3

Welcome to Assembly Required =3

Aye it feels very nostalgic to build them. I caved in and got the parts for the walls so I ended up making this:
Spoiler: BIIIIIIIIG IMAGE

Now one could turn this into a tabletop scenario where the other faction has to blow it all up :p

After seeing the C&C stuff above I went to look if there was a Kirov model (one of the most iconic C&C units to me) and found one being sold on Aliexpress. On the photo it had decals and there was no mention of them not being included.... unfortunately they weren't. Someone else selling the same thing on there did state that there were no stickers included.
Unfortunately aside from that, there were mistakes in the parts assembling, leading to me substituting with other parts from the 'set' just to reduce the amount of loose parts on the table as there were a lot. Naturally, I later on ran out of parts anyway and had to stop... made everything I could and got pretty far though:

Spoiler:

Also, not a missing part, but they gave me the wrong 'color' part for this:
Spoiler:

It's supposed to be just tan, not see through. Which for some reason counts as a color for this type of part lol
I did find a store in the Netherlands selling the tan version of that part... but they were asking 19 euros something per piece. And I needed 2.
I used Brickscout and found someone in Germany selling them for 5 euros. International tracked mail did double the price, but even then it was only 2 euros more in total than just a single part out of 2 at the dutch shop lol.
Had to order the parts from 3 separate stores to finish the model off, as each of them was missing one piece or another.... -.-

Once the replacement parts arrived I finished this bad boy off:
Spoiler:

And then I found a shop here that could print a name on a 1x6 black tile and also used up all my 1 x 8 spare tiles and some other black tiles I had leftover from something else to give the base a little extra touch:
Spoiler:

I would still like stickers on it though and am currently looking around to see if I can get any made at an affordable price. There used to be some being sold, but those are sold out and no longer available.

My first and last time using Aliexpress at any rate lol

That sucks to hear that you ran into missing and wrongly coloured parts on the build. I never had parts missing, but did get some that had a different colour than the manuals, albeit that it wasnt that big of an issue as those parts were not all that visible in the end. Guess it depends on the seller I suppose.

Bought a couple Gundam model kits and gave one a try like a month ago, never got to posting it lol

What I started off with:
Spoiler:

There were a lot more parts than I was expecting tbh, given the size you end up with. Spent about 5,5 - 6 hours assembling the thing.
Some in progress photos:

Spoiler:

The end result:
Spoiler:

It was a bit on the wobbly side so I bought a base... was expecting a base like Nendoroids... like 3-5 pieces you put together. Nah... this is what you get:

Spoiler:

Like, a couple dozen parts lol
End result with the base assembled:

Spoiler:

Snapped a couple parts accidentally... managed to glue them back on. 😅
I didn't have modeling nippers so I used the smallest scissors I had (which was still to big for the things the parts are attached to). Ended up snapping 2-3 parts off where the scissors wouldn't fit despite attempting to be gentle. Got some Modeling nippers after completing it though. Got 2 more boxes of Gundam model kits =P

All in all I think I did okay for a first attempt at doing one of these =D

Made some more. That Umbreon was supposed to be a Christmas present to someone. However, something happened and I decided against it. Also: I didn't have any felt to use for the eyes so I had to improvise.

The other doll is an attempt for a smaller base doll. I'm not too much of a fan of the end result, though. So, I'll have to try out some other stuff in the future. ^^"

I made 2 Lego sets last week. First I made the Tiny Plants set:
Spoiler:

And later in the week I made the Succulents set:
Spoiler:

The pots for Succulents could be disconnected, but I just left them attached =3

Moar plants! moar!

Made the Plum Blossom & Chrysanthemum Lego sets over the past week =3

The Plum Blossom:
Spoiler:

The Chrysanthemum:
Spoiler:

Both sets combined have less parts than either the Tiny Plants or the Succulents sets individually.
I'll be taking a swing at a bigger set during the weekend, The Great Wave, from the Lego Art series. Mainly wanna make this one because I have a feeling the finished product will be smaller than the rather large box it's in and I'm running low on available space =P

Got most of the 'The Great Wave' set done in the weekend and then finished it on Tuesday after work =3
Ended up missing a single 1 x 6 tan tile piece. Those pieces were in a bag that was ripped upon opening the box so idk if I lost it while opening the box or if it was never there. Couldn't find anything at any rate... spent quite some time looking around the table I make Legos on to see if I dropped it. Substituted it with 6 1 x 1 tan tiles I had because they always put a spare of those small pieces and I stockpile them for things like this lol

Anyway, a close up of the 'painting' itself:

and the frame:
Spoiler:

And a view from a bit of a distance as just like with Ministeck it becomes a lot easier to read (and prettier) at a distance =3

Different doll base. This one can sit, though I still have issues with pants so sitting isn't exactly possible. Shoes are still weird, too. Also: I kinda messed up the wig cap and had to improvise to get the hair done properly. I still feel like this is an improvement on some of the previous iterations, though.
