I don't pay much attention to developers, although most of the indies I do notice, as well as those who fund their projects via Kickstarter, are open, honest, and generally just fantastic people. Of course, they're relying on a very small fandom to sell their titles, so any goodwill they can generate is going to help, but it's obvious they have passion for their product and want others to enjoy the experience as well. Seeing developer diaries and stuff is pretty interesting, and bigger corporations could learn a thing or two about transparency, rather than just giving us the blanket "quality control" excuse and expecting us to swallow it without complaint...or saying nothing, if you're Nintendo, and think delaying a game for 5 days in one area of the world is acceptable practice...or six months or more. Aaaaaanywhos. This is another reason I'm so fond of niche titles - the developers actually care. The AAA industry really doesn't give a crap about its fans anymore, because they know whatever they do will sell millions no matter who they piss off.
