Bank Allows Transferring RBY VC Pokemon into Sun and Moon

But you're basically destroying what the competitive Pokémon community has established to make the games more complex and appealing for adult Pokémon fans. Remember what happened with Brawl? Competitive Smash players loathed that entry for removing the complex techniques found in Melee and simplifying the mechanics for casuals. There's a reason why phrases like "Don't touch me, you filthy casual," and "git gud" exist to counter the casual audience from hardcore gamers. I did made a thread at the video games section regarding the debate between single player experience and competitive experience, and one of the replies mentions how competitive play is now the way to go these days.

Wow, competitive elitist, much? :rolleyes2: Yeah, how DARE the games cater to anyone besides hardcore Smogonites! Don't you know that Pokémon should be played solely as a rote mathematical chess game against other Smogonites? Having favorites and caring about things like adventure and story and character is for wussies! [/sarcasm]

I'd be so happy if GF just released a dedicated battle simulator for the competitive robots and let the main games be for everyone else. Keep the two groups separated as they should be.

We're already having a dedicated battle simulator for us competitive robots, and it's a spin-off named Pokken Tournament, which is coming out next month and at EVO.

So, let's ignore the possibility that new egg moves might be added for existing pokemon in Sun and Moon and just focus on the current gen, is there ANY point in getting moves from R/B/Y into the new generation? By that I mean are any of the Tms/Hms teachable to the first 151 pokemon available right now as egg moves? I'm trying to decide if I want to bother getting any of these games and was initially not going to because there was no compatibility, but if the moves taught in these games can be given to currently existing pokemon as egg moves (and there's no other way to get those moves, ofcourse) then I would consider getting the game in preparation for the sun and moon games to breed onto existing pokemon later, HOWEVER, if there's absolutely no compatibility with the pokemon now existing (AGAIN, because people have skim read this post, I KNOW there's no direct trading between the games, I'm asking for future use of currently existing pokemon) there likely won't be in the future
Here's a list of TMs from R/B/Y that may help you which ones can be passed on to post-Kanto Pokémon via breeding: https://pokemondb.net/red-blue/tms

this is pretty gr8, really
I've talked about this concept with some of my friends before, but never did I think gamefreak would actually be cool enough to do it
shame none of the kantomons I like get any real buffs from this....as silly as horn drill omastar may be

still laughing about fissure machamp. It even gets smack down, lol

Wow, casual elitist, much? Yeah, how DARE the games cater to anyone besides softcore gamers! Don't you know that Pokemon should be played soley as a undemanding karenistic walk in the park again a braindead artificial intelligence? Having strategies and caring about things like teambuilding and fun competition is for robots!

I don't really get why the presence of natures, IVs, and EVs in the games is somehow hindering your enjoyment of them. Oh wow, you just caught a rhydon with a -attack nature. You can either a) not care or b) stop being an impatient child and go catch another one. If the games for some reason required you to catch perfect nature and IV pokemon, and EV train them, etc, I could understand your frustration, but it's pretty obvious you just have an irrational hatred of the competitive scene. You wanna be a casual? That's fine. But don't act like the game should be catered only to you. Also, us competitive players aren't always as robot-like as you make us out to be. I like using my favorite pokemon over spammed OU trash as much as I can (it is difficult...), and I care very much about the in game experience.

Bank has obvious effect on competitive, but I can't think of anything that existed back then and could be useful now. Machamp will be defaulted to Guts if No Guard + Fissure is an issue, and then it's banned from most circles anyway.

How are they going to do it? All they need is some money, determination and wizardry. Don't worry. :P

Being able to import the Pokemon from my current Yellow playthrough to Sun/Moon eventually is very welcome news. My Pikachu will be imported and naturally will stay as a Pikachu. :)

I wonder if Shinyness may also occur on importing Gen 1 Pokémon. Whilst the mechanic did not exist in Gen 1 (Along with Natures, Genders and so on) I wonder if an imported Pokémon (Like say Pikachu) would randomly be made Shiny.
