Battle Stadium Daily Chit-Chat [Everyone go on the PO server please :D]

The rule is inaccurate, what if the opponent is using a suicide lead that isn't meant to survive? What if the opponent's Pokemon is meant to be sacrificed? Obviously stall would be the best play-style if someone was to win the tournament easily, as it requires a smaller amount of sacrifices and in general takes a while to KO a Pokemon. And I wouldn't want to do a lot of stall vs stall matches (though I guess it is rare on Wi-Fi?).

Personally I like countering the standard suicude lead. I find just better to go get a "one up" by making the opponent waste the lead.

I am making another attempt at making a tournament. Hopefully, it will be better.

I demand you give people more time to battle so I can join. ^^

See, some people can't use Shoddy.

Shoddy works on my main computer (macbook pro) up until the actual battle part.

I can see my pokemon and stuff but then the moves don't appear and I can't see the pokemon in my party if I want to switch.

From Smogon:

Help! I have a mac/use OS X and when I start a battle the battle window stretches and I can't see my moves! What should I do!?!

This is a bug with Java 1.5 for OS X. Open your java preferences and in the Java Applications list in the General tab, make sure that Java 1.5 is not at the top of the list. Java 1.6 is the best choice, but 1.4 also works if you don't have 1.6.

I had the same thing wrong with my Mac and this fixed it \o/

Also, Shoddy should work on every computer, provided you're installing it correctly and you have java.

IMHO Shoddy is just an excuse for lazy people who don't feel like EVing anything. It's almost the equivalent of using PokeSav to build teams. Besides, Nintendo's servers are better than they used to be. There's nothing bad about Wi-Fi.
Okay, but competitive battling is all about the strategy. Not everyone can IV breed, much less RNG breed. Smogon is standardizing the Pokemon.

And if tourneys become all 100% Shoddy, new battlers still learning good movesets and spreads will likely be alienated.
You do realize Syndrome switches up the tournament rules every time? Maybe next time, it will be all Wifi. The current one will be done soon; you could wait.

IMHO you are misguided about shoddy good sir.

I have to agree with this guy. People are just too lazy and think wifi is <snip snip> up. As far as i know, shoddy will never become the dominant method here. I only supported it being allowed in the quick battle thread because some people dont have wifi.

How about we all shut up. Good idea Y/Y ?

Also stop with your silly logical fallacies about shoddy that aren't even backed up. Shoddy is here to stay, deal with it and btw there is nothing you guys can do about it. ^______________________________________________________________________^

I know we have to deal with it. I am just saying that it will never be the dominant battling method here. You can try all you want, but most people here are used to wifi and will not adapt to shoddy.

<insert huge-*** argument of Shoddy vs Wi-Fi here>
Seriously, what is you people's problem with Wi-Fi? Why are you too lazy to train anything and instead just use a simulator?

1. Not all of us have wifi. My router is incompatible. Nice assumption.
2. We dont have a problem with wifi, its you and your little buddy going "OMGZ WIFI POONZ SHODDYZ LOLZ LOLZ !!!111TWENTY2 ANY1 WHU LIKEZ SHODDY SUCKS0RZ".
