Battle Stadium Daily Chit-Chat [Everyone go on the PO server please :D]

Motisma's so obviously dead. I don't know how much longer MMSL will last. The elimination of personal battle threads means there is simply less in the Battle Stadium now.

Actually, I think we are waiting for leader re tests, but Beachy seems to have disappeared for now.
 
All you have to do is mention a giant, destructive, man-eating sun-form Castform and he'll show up sooner or later.

Not exactly. It means more room for tournaments and leagues. Those are a little more active than personal battle threads, wouldn't you agree?
 
I predict if we all have patience, when Gen 5 comes out a spur in activity will happen. I joined back a little bit before Gen 4 came around, so chances are others will show up around the release of Gen 5. Also, I "sense" a great success upon the arrival of Gen 5.

Thats where he has been. Also, I shifted my favor to being for one big league with a shoddy/wifi split (wifi section and shoddy section). Seems to be the most efficient way to keep a steady flow of activity and people can always swap in and out of leader positions based on retests and such. I think we should have neutral testers (or as close as possible though assuming this gets going) so that there is no "well Syndrome is my friend, so I gave him a spot even though Aero did a better job" because that kinda ruins it forever. Also, I think that we should allow tourneys, but have them limited (three at once, maybe four, but four is a cap) so that people don't get overwhelmed trying to get involved with too much at once.

No, they were never active anyway. With the personal battle threads gone, tourneys and leagues might last longer, but they will die as is rapidly becoming the trend here.

If no personal battle threads, what kind of thread will keep moving the leagues and tournaments back to page 2?
 
That's because people are inactive and unreliable on the internet. We must all realize this:

The majority of internet dwellers are a lazy lot of people. The chances of them taking time out of whatever they're doing to finish one battle within a set amount of time can be very slim once the excitement of the first round wears off. Tournaments are difficult unless you manage to get lucky and get reliable users to join.

Leagues on the other hand can be done during free time, and battles are not confined into a short amount of time by a deadline. Even still, gym leaders tend to close gyms a lot, or become inactive. Choosing reliable people as opposed to skilled players can sometimes be a more positive choice to the league.

Users need to start challenging more, and I certainly will start challenging once I actually care enough to train up a Wifi team (like that'll ever happen. ;o; I'll just get some people to trade me pokes for free lol). I'm an example of one of those lazy people. That is why I don't join tourneys.
 
We all know that leagues and tournaments have their bad sides. What if someone comes up with something else, that is neither a league, nor a tournament?
 
You mean a clan? Those were BANNED. And the personal battle threads are now gone. Tourneys and Leagues are now the only options.

Maybe if we just banned steel and dragon types more people would actually battle?
 
No because that just means people who join up will start becoming lazy and eventually utterly ignoring type coverage. I am of course speaking of the newb crowd. After all, where else will we get new battlers from?

Gee I hardly see how banning two types would make people lazy and forget type coverage and all that. I mean if you have the least bit of brainpower..

Also you do realize what a Joke is, right?
 
This thread has officially made my day. I won't point out any specifics because it would probably get me in trouble, but if you can't understand what I'm implying by this post, you don't deserve to know why.

Anyway, let's all just settle down. There's nothing we can do to increase activity besides battle ourselves. So why not do that? I could, but my current Wifi teams are full of hacked pokemon that people refuse to battle. :/
