i was into hetalia way before it blew up, as well as other animes like blue exorcist. i was into some bands before they got really big like twenty one pilots (which i have since stopped listening to because. eugh). i liked rooster teeth/achievement hunter before they got super big and also became bad. i cant really think of anything else. ive mostly gotten into things that were already big, or gotten into things when they were falling out of fashion.
