I am planning on doing another Pokémon Alpha Sapphire playthrough one day very soon. I am currently doing Pokémon SoulSilver and that is going well but slowly because I'm a lot busier at the moment. When I finish that playthrough, I'm likely to start on the Pokémon Alpha Sapphire one. However, I do want to do this playthrough when I get more time so I can fully enjoy it. Nonetheless, I have my team planned for my playthrough, and I would like your opinions on it. Normally, for all my several years of playing Pokémon, I have always used my main favorites for my playthroughs, which mostly consisted of Starmie, Serperior, Gengar, Haxorus, Gardevoir, Electivire, Machamp, and Lucario. I also always used a secondary team of other favorites, but I will only be playing with a single team now. However, I want to replay my older games using different Pokémon and build my team based on different formulas, which would result in me using Pokémon that aren't exactly my favorites. Hopefully, in the process, I can develop new favorites! For this playthrough, I will be playing my Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game and will be using a different team. For my last playthrough, my primary team consisted of Blaziken, Feraligatr, Electivire, Haxorus, Gengar, and Gardevoir. Now, I am going for something completely different. My team will consist of the following:
This is also not a competitive team, but rather strictly a playthrough team for the Gen 3 remakes. What are your thoughts on this playthrough team? Should I consider Wigglytuff or Clefable?
Spoiler:
My Starter Pokémon. I always try to complete a playthrough with one of the game's Starters from start to finish. Admittedly, Blaziken is one of my all-time favorites, but I just have to pick Torchic here. I can't have it any other way. It's just too cute to pass up.

Alright, I know that I said I wouldn't be using my all-time favorites, but I can't pass up Starmie here. It fits in really well with the overall core, and I hatched a Shiny one that I would be transferring over from Pokémon Bank.

Shiftry has always been a great alternative if you didn't select Treeko as your Starter Pokémon. If you need a Grass-type Pokémon on your team, Shiftry can definitely fill that role for you. Its line evolves at a good pace, it has a good leveling rate, and it can learn a ton of moves. This would be my first time in years using Shiftry again, though. I literally haven't used it in over ten years since the original Gen 3 games. Welcome back to the team!

Heavy-hitting pseudo-legendary Pokémon that I will be using as a special attacker, actually. Normally, I would make it a physical attacker, but unless I want to run a Focus Blast Blaziken, which is highly inaccurate, I can't really do a special attacking Blaziken since it can't learn Aura Sphere this generation. Shiftry could actually be a good special attacker too, but it has more coverage as a physical attacker. Thus, I am completely fine using my Metagross as a bulky special attacker. Then again, I could use it as a special sweeper too because I plan on Mega Evolving it to its much faster form, but with its normal 70 base Speed, I don't know. I might as well just train it to take hits. I am considering this because, for me to feel comfortable, my teams must have three special attackers and three physical attackers, period.

In my opinion, Aerodactyl is probably the best Pokémon to use for the HM move Fly. Others are good, such as Crobat, Hawlucha, Staraptor, Dodrio, and so on, but Aerodactyl has the most coverage compared to them all by far. A lot of Flying-type Pokémon are special attackers, but Fly is a physical move. This means that, normally, a lot of times, players might teach Fly to a special attacker, making the move weaker than it normally is. Aerodactyl is one of the best physical attackers in the game and perhaps has the most coverage out of every other physically attacking Flying-type Pokémon. Its combination of Rock/Flying also gives it a vast amount of STAB coverage and it can Mega Evolve.

Normally, I will go for Gardevoir or Sylveon here for a Fairy-type, but because I use Gardevoir all the time, I decided I wanted to sit her down and let her rest a bit. Because we're in Hoenn, I wanted to use a Pokémon that isn't a Gen 6 Pokémon, so I went with Clefable. With Magic Guard, I can use her with a Life Orb and deal a ton of damage without taking recoil damage. She will be a bulky special attacker like Metagross. I was also considering Wigglytuff here too because of the Normal-typing and Ghost immunity, but I don't know; I think Clefable might be much better here.

I am debating whether or not I want to use Wigglytuff over Clefable. I always thought Wigglytuff was much cuter, but Clefable seems to be a much harder hitter. Both have good Abilities, but Competitive raises her Special Attack sharply but relies too much on Wigglytuff having her stats lowered. Wigglytuff is also part Normal-type, meaning I can use her to safely switch in on Ghost-type attacks, giving my team more immunities. I don't know what to decide. I recommend your input!
