[Best Veteran March/May 2011] A new professor in town - Kanto Adventure PG13

"You might have taken out Bibarel," Danny called, "But I think we're going to surprise you! Me and Mankey have been doing some extra training since last time and it's really paid off! Mankey! Show them your new Aerial Ace!" Warren gasped as the primate leapt into the air, flying forwards with incredible speed. Venonat didn't even have time to squeak before Mankey collided with it, throwing backwards to land at its trainer's feet. Sighing, Warren returned the unconscious pokemon, looking at Rattata.
"I guess its one-on-one now, runt..."
"Aerial Ace again!" Danny yelled, grinning wildly. But this time, Warren smirked too.
"Quick Attack!" Charging at an incredible speed, the rodent smashed into the airborne monkey before it had begun to move, throwing it backwards. Warren chuckled.
"Aerial Ace is speedy and it's one hundred percent accurate, but short of an Arcanine with Extremespeed, nothing's faster than a Quick Attack from this Rattata! Now, Hyper Fang and finish with Tackle!" Mankey struggled to its feet as the rodent sprung forwards, latching her teeth onto her enemy's prominent nose. The pig monkey screamed and grabbed Rattata, throwing her indiscriminately into the air. Screeching with delight, the rat flew downwards, using the momentum to fuel a powerful Tackle. Mankey stumbled as Rattata connected with its skull, then slowly fell over, defeated.
"Alright! Nice work, Rattata!" Danny and Liv sighed as Mankey was returned and Warren walked over.
"Hey you did pretty well, y'know," Liv raised an eyebrow.
"What are you talking about? You completely destroyed us." Warren laughed nervously.
"Well, I wouldn't say that...just that I defeated you humiliatingly." The siblings rolled their eyes in perfect unison, then Liv stepped over to the side of the boat.
"Hey, you can see Cinnabar. We should be docking in less than an hour...nice Venonat, by the way. You must have been pretty lucky to get a shiny. I wouldn't have thought you'd want two bug types on the same team, though. Or did you box Beedrill?" Warren lowered his eyes as Liv rambled on. Suddenly, her chatter stopped.
"What? Did I say something?" Warren sighed.
"Well...as I was on the way to Fuschia, me and Beedrill got ambushed by this huge Grimer. I came out okay...but he didn't." Liv gasped as Warren continued.
"To top it off, I'm pretty sure that the Grimer belonged to someone, and that means that someone sent it after me."
"You mean Guy?"
"Guy...or possibly Misty. Maybe even the random biker who I'd beaten the crap out of Cycling Road." In spite of herself, Liv smiled.
"You really do make a lot of friends, don't you?"
"At least I don't go everywhere with my little brother!"
"Hey, guys!" The pair turned to Danny, who was standing over by the stairs.
"Once you've finished bickering, there's food downstairs and I'm hungry." Warren rolled his eyes.
"Fine, let's go. I guess the team could do with a bite to eat as well."

"All right guys, time for some food!" Poliwag, Rattata, Gastly, Cubone, Venonat and Bellsprout all appeared. Warren frowned as he noticed the strange expression on the grass-type's face.
"Hey, Bellsprout, what's up?" it looked up, confused, then grinned. Warren gasped as slowly it began to glow, becoming brighter and brighter until it was a shining white light sitting on the table. Everyone else had stopped to watch. In front of their eyes, Bellsprout's head grew, becoming larger and larger until it was larger than the rest of its body. Next, its body shrunk, shortening to a tiny stem on top of its head and the two leaves moved down to the sides of its face, growing broader and longer. Finally, the glow faded, revealing a new pokemon.
"Weepinbell?" Warren gasped, looking at the thing sitting in front of him. It was, to be honest, quite hideous. Nevertheless, it was clearly a lot bigger and stronger than before.
"Bell, bell?" It questioned in its new, deeper voice as the other diners returned to eating. Warren shook his head, understanding instantly.
"No, once you evolve to Victreebel, you can't learn as many moves. If you stay as a Weepinbell for a little longer, it will benefit you in the long run." The plant nodded sagely, though a little sadly. Suddenly, a loud voice came over the tannoy.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be docking in Cinnabar in approximately twenty minutes. The canteen will now be closed. Can all passengers please gather their belongings and prepare to disembark." Warren groaned.
"I didn't even get a chance to eat!" Liv laughed.
"Our parents live on Cinnabar, actually. If you want, we could go scrounge some food off them." Warren grinned.
"I like the way you think!"

slls81: I hope you don't mind me playing Professor Maple in this post, since I played her when I got Rose.

"Ok," Kairi said,"Don't worry Rattata your going to be well taken care of." Kairi returned Rattata to his PokeBall and pressed the white buttom inside her Pokedex and exchanged Rattata for Pikachu,"There all exchanged Professor," she told her.

"Ok, take care Kairi," Professor Maple said as she hung up,"I'll call you when Rattata's better in case you want it back."

"Ok, bye Professor," Kairi said, and hung up. The exchange was complete. She was now holding Sparky's PokeBall in her hand. Just then though, Sparky appeared outside his PokeBall and shocked Kairi,"Pika! Pika!" He said, complainning and pointing at the PokeBall and kicking it.

"Something wrong with your PokeBall Sparky?" Kairi asked him. Sparky then kicked it into Kairi's face trying to make his point clear that he didn't like being in there,"Oh I see. Well you don't have to go back in there if you don't want to, ok."

Sparky nodded his head saying very stuborn like,"Pika!" Kairi and her Pokemon then had lunch. Kairi figure she'd make it to Pewter City before night fall. She returned everyone to there PokeBalls expect for Sparky and Rose. They then continued on.

Kairi was drinking some juice and humming as she walked. Sparky had gotten tried of walking and was ridding on her shoulder. Rose was still walking at her feet though.

The exit of the forest was in sight now,"We made it guys," Kairi said happily. Kairi with Sparky still ridding on her shoulder and Rose running after her ran towards the exit, but something was blocking her way.

"B...B...Beedrill!!!!!!" Kairi screamed shaking in fear, as about 20 Beedrill flew down at her, attacking. Kairi and her Pokemon turned and ran the other way, the Beedrill right behind them.

Just as Kairi was running though, she jumped over a log and tripped over a Bellsprout that had been sleeping. It woke up,"Bell?" It asked confused as to what was going on here,"This is no time to be laiding around Bellsprout, a horn of Beedrill are heading this way," she told it. Kairi picked up the wild Bellsprout and continued running.

Kairi then reached a dead end,"Ah! It's a dead end. What are we going to do!?" Kairi panicked. "Bellsprout!" The Bellsprout screamed covering it's eyes with it's leafs. It looked scared.

Kairi looked scared as well. But she had to protect this Bellsprout no matter how scared she was,"Don't worry Bellsprout. I'll protect you no matter what," Kairi told it. Bellsprout had tears in it's eyes. A human it had just met was trying this hard to protect it. The Bellsprout was impressed by how brave this human girl was. "Bell," it nodded it's head.

The Beedrills were closing in on Kairi. All of them stuck there stringers out and flew straight down at Kairi, using Fury Attack,"Sparky Thundershock! Rose use Absorb," Kairi told her Pokemon, as she held the Bellsprout close, to protect it.

Sparky jumped down from Kairi's shoulders and released Thundershock at the Beedrill, while Rose used Absorb on the Beedrill. Sparky's attack hit most of them. It hit about 10 of them, while Rose's attack missed. The Beedrill used Fury Attack on Rose.

Rose screamed, in pain. That had hurt her a lot. "Pika!" Sparky screamed, screaming out his battle partner's name.

"Rose are you ok?" Kairi asked her. "Oddish!" Rose said, getting back up onto her feet. Rose was still a long ways from being out. Then all the Beedrill at once released String Shot at Sparky and Rose, lowering there speed.

Then all the Beedrill shot Poison Sting at the two Pokemon. They both dodged the attack. But then the attack was heading towards Kairi. She quickly jumped out of the way and the Poison Sting flew harmlessly by her.

"Sparky, try Thundershock again. And Rose use Poison Powder," Kairi pointed out. Sparky released Thundershock as hard as he could this time, hitting all 20 Beedrill at once. Rose released Poison Powder, poisoning the Beedrills.

All the Beedrills buzzed painfully, as they got poisoned by Rose's attack. "Now Sparky use Growl, and Rose use Acid!" Kairi commanded her Pokemon. Sparky growled at the Beedrill lowering there attack power. Rose used Acid lowering there rate of hits.

The whole time while Kairi was holding it, the Bellsprout had been watching the fight. It was impressed that Kairi could handle her Pokemon so well. All the Beedrill flew at Sparky using Fury Attack. But after they hit something weird happened to the Beedrills. They all looked like they were having trouble moving.

"What happened?" Kairi wondered as she flipped open her Pokedex and looked at Sparky's data. It said that Sparky's special ability Static will sometimes paralyze it's foe when direct contact is made,"Oh boy!" Kairi said happily. She may just get out of this alive after all.

But even paralyzed the Beedrill could still move a little bit, and Kairi knew that. She'd have to finish this battle quickly. "Now Rose use Absorb," she said. Rose used Absorb on the Beedrills. And since there was a lot of them she was draining HP from she got all of her HP back up to full power.

Kairi then told Sparky to use Thundershock once again. Somehow the Beedrills managed to dodge it. They shot Poison Sting at Sparky. He got poisoned. Quickly Kairi took out one of her Antidotes and used it on Sparky curing him of his poison.

But the battle wasn't over yet. The good thing was Poison Powder was sapping away at the Beedrills energry very quickly. Kairi saw how they were all grouped together. Then she got an idea from that,"Sparky jump on top of one of the Beedrill and use Thundershock at full power!"

Sparky nodded his head and jumped up onto one of the Beedrill before it even had time to react and released Thundershock at full power. The plan worked. Sparky's attack had made a Cirtial hit on all the Beedrills all at once.

Then all the other Beedrills flew at Sparky using Fury Attack. Sparky waited and jumped off at the very last minute, making the Beedrills hit there friend with the attack. The Beedrill that got hit fainted to the ground.

Kairi got another idea from that,"Ok you two stand in the middle of the Beedrills," Kairi told them. Her Pokemon looked at Kairi like they thought she was nuts to be asking them to do something crazy like that. What was she thinking. But they both trusted Kairi. They figured she must have some type of plan.

Just as the Beedrills were flying down from both durations at once, at Sparky and Rose using Fury Attack, Kairi waited until the very last second, before she screamed out,"Now dodge you two!" Kairi screamed. Both Sparky and Rose jumped out of the way, making the Beedrills hit themselves with there own attack.

"Now Thundershock!" Kairi screamed. Sparky released Thundershock at the crumbled up heap of Beedrill bodies, hitting all of them at once. That was it! The Beedrills fainted. Kairi holding Bellsprout with Sparky and Rose then ran out of there as fast as they could. Kairi didn't stop running until she got out to the rest of Route 2.

"Are you ok Bellsprout?" Kairi asked it as she stopped to catch her breath. The Bellsprout nodded it's head,"Bell." Kairi then sit the Bellsprout down on the ground. It looked very greatful to Kairi for saving it's life,"Hey I was wondering Bellsprout, would you like to come with me? Me and my Pokemon would love to have you with us," Kairi then stood there waiting for the Bellsprout's answer.

@Konekdoemon - No worries for playing Maple, you kind of had to the way I left my reply lol

"Bell?" said the Bellsprout looking at Kairi, before nodding her head and smiling happily...

Congratulations Kairi 'caught' a Level 4 Bellsprout

Sam picked up Igglybuff and headed back on deck, after a nice nap. The comfortable bed had made his sleep all the more enjoyable. He had a healed team of pokemon and was ready for the battle action the ship aparently had in mind. Sam went up to the desk where he had registered about 2 hours ago. It was now almost 6 PM, but Sam loved how the ship was now lit. Igglybuff stirred in its sleep, but slowly drifted back into its serenity. Sam loved watching the cute little pokemon, as it was probably the cutest thing he'd ever seen. The lady at the desk sat there, then said, "So. You're the 6:30 match?" Sam checked his card, it said 6:30, so his reply was, "Yes, maam." The lady stared at him, then at Igglybuff. "Hm...well, you've got time. Go ahead and have your pokemon healed. It'll help them later. Your match is against...hm...some boy who was aparently very strong. Well, good luck," the lady said, shooing Sam into a pokemon center on the boat. Sam immediatly headed over to a computer to make a video call. He hadn't spoken with Professor Maple in a while, and she might be worried. Apart from that, he was making progress on his pokedex and wanted her to see. Dialing the number, she quickly picked up. "Hello?" she said, as the video wasn't yet on. "Hi, Professor Maple," Sam replied, turning on the video. Now he could see her face. "Who are you? I'm not buying anything!" Maple said, ready to hang up the phone. "Wait! Its me! Sam! One of the people who got their starter from you!" Sam yelled, not wanting to get hung up on. "Oh! Sam! Its been a while, huh? You look...taller. So. What's up?" Maple asked, instantly making the atmosphere a bit more casual. "I just wanted to call and say hello. I haven't check in for a while. I'm doing well...haven't seen any Oak children for a while, which means they're either way ahead or way behind. Or hiding from me," Sam said, laughing to himself. Maple also laughed, and said, "Yes...Professor Oak has been talking about how they're having some difficulties. I just laughed. He asked how you all are doing. I said better than his are," Maple smiled. Sam smiled as well, wondering if he should tell Maple about his team. He decided it was a good idea, since he hadn't alerted her about any of his pokemon. "Anyway, yeah. My team's getting better and better every day. The Eevee I got from you? It evolved into an Umbreon a little while ago, and now it knows 3 TM moves. Psychic, Iron Tail and Shadow Ball," Sam said, filling Maple in. "Hm. Eevee was always a little timid. I'm glad to hear it has opened up to you. So. Your other pokemon?" Maple asked, getting Sam to continue. "Well, I've got a Gyarados now. And a Pidgeotto. Also, I caught a Pikachu back in the Viridian Forest, which has helped alot. Recently, I found an egg, which had a Vulpix in it. He's been helpful with the egg move Hypnosis. Finally, the most recent member is this little girl," Sam said, holding up Igglybuff, who was still cutely asleep. "Aww...its so cute. Do you know its egg move yet?" Maple asked. "No...not yet. But I will as soon as she starts battling. I'm sure she'll be very strong. She's so obedient, so I know she'll be helpful," Sam said, as Igglybuff's eyes fluttered open. She looked at Sam, then at Maple with her huge eyes. "Yes, she will be. Well, I've got to get back to research. You'll be back in Pallet soon, right?" Maple asked. "Of course. Right after I go to Cinnabar Island to earn my next badge," Sam said, eyes gleaming. "Sounds good. Well, good bye," Maple said, severing the connection.

Sam stepped out on the main field. It was 6:28, so his battle was next. The last one hadn't been over long, though. Sam pulled out one pokeball. It was Gyara. He didn't know how he could get Gyara to fight on land, but he knew that it could be done. He'd seen Andy do it and he'd done it himself once, too. So it could be done. He was sure that he could win, but it might be difficult to do so with all the tough looking trainers on board. He wondered who his fight would be. His question was answered, as a tough looking trainer came out onto the field at exactly 6:30. "So. You're my next victim? Dang. They just keep getting weaker and weaker. Dragonair!" the guy yelled, throwing out a pokemon. A Dragonair, just like the one Sam saw in the Safari Zone, came out. Sam hadn't had too much experience fighting these, so he pulled out Pidg's pokeball. If nothing else, it could probably fight a nice aerial battle. "Pidg! Let's do it! Wing Attack!" Sam said, as Pidg's wings turned white and it charged in. "Dragon Rage!" the guy commanded. He was so sure of himself. Time to give him a wake up call. Pidg easily dodged under the attack and hit Dragonair with the attack. It flew back, surprised by how fast Pidg was. "Grr. You're not half bad, kid. Use Twister!" the guy yelled, as Dragonair started spinning. It came straight at Pidg, but Sam already had a plan. "Use Twister yourself to spin it the other way, then hit it with Aerial Ace!" Sam commanded. Pidg flapped its wings, causing a small twister to be kicked up. Dragonair's spinning was stopped, as it hovered in the air, harmed by Pidg's attack. Then, Pidg flew, knocking it into the ground. "Heh...you're underestimating us. IRON TAIL NOW!" the boy yelled. The Dragonair slammed a powerful tail down on Pidg, who hit the ground as a result. Sam simply smirked and said, "Now we've got it! Twister!" Pidg flapped up another twister, but this one tossed Dragonair back at its trainer, who collapsed under its weight. Returning that pokemon, he sent out another pokemon. A Snorunt.

"Go! Use Twister, Pidg!" Sam yelled. Pidg whipped up a twister which it used on the Snorunt, who sat there quietly. "Now! Icy Wind!" the trainer commanded. A gust of cold air flew off Snorunt, freezing the twister and Pidg's left wing. Pidg was now immoble, causing it to start freaking out. This was just good news for the guy, who commanded Snorunt to use its Bite attack. Pidg's right wing was hit, immoblizing that wing as well. "Dang...this is harder than I though..." Sam said angerly. His team was being eaten away at with no trouble at all. "Now! Water Pulse!" the guy yelled. Snorunt shot a ball of water at Pidg, who was now in so much pain that it couldn't move. Sam was really annoyed with this Snorunt. "Grr...Quick Attack!" Sam yelled. Pidg ran across the ground hitting Snorunt. Snorunt purely bit back, causing Pidg to screech in pain again. "Hm...its not worth it. Pidg, return. You did a good job," Sam said, not realizing that his Igglybuff was no longer in his arm.

Sam pulled out another pokeball. "Okay, Vulpix. I know it knows Water Pulse, but you're fast. You should have no trouble at all. Now let's do it!" Sam whispered to the ball, throwing it at the ground. Vulpix came out, ready to fight. "Sheesh! Don't you learn? Water Pulse!" the guy yelled, giving another command. But Sam was ready. "Go! Quick Attack, then jump over it and spit Ember!" Sam yelled. Vulpix easily ran around the attack and jumped gracefully, spitting flames the whole way. Snover screeched in pain, as the flames hit it direcly. "Now! Firewall, then run through it!" Sam yelled. Vulpix put up a wall of flame, then used Quick Attack to charge through, tackling the Snover. "Now! Use Roar to scare it into the flames!" Sam said. Vulpix roared, causing the Snorunt to run in fear. It ran right into the flames, where it burned for a second. Sam smiled at this, remembering how strong his Vulpix had become. Happy, Sam gave Vulpix the command to take a step back and see how things would progress. The flames were burning, but now steam was coming out. Sam suddenly realized that Snorunt had never actually touched the flames. He was about to give Vulpix the command to dodge, but he was too late. A Water Pulse flew out, knocking Vulpix back into a railing on the ship. "Now! Bite, then Water Pulse again!" the guy yelled. Vulpix was bitten by the powerful attack, only to be shot with another burst of water. Snorunt jumped back next to its master, and both laughed evily. Sam was sure Vulpix was defeated, when he saw something. It stood up. They were still laughing, so he could counter attack if only Vulpix had the energy. What happened next was a surprise to all. Igglybuff, who Sam was sure was still in his arms, walked up to Vulpix and touched it. Then, a star seemed to fly over the ship. Energy came off the star, causing Vulpix to stand taller. The guy, laughing, didn't see it. Now was his chance. Sam told Vulpix to light up its tail. Vulpix's tail was blazing now, as it charged forward, slapping the opponent. Snorunt was so surprised by this attack it fell over, now knocked out. The guy returned it and headed back to his room, grumbling. Sam picked up Igglybuff and hugged her. Then, carried his pokemon back into the pokecenter to rest, as he happily sat there stroking Igglybuff's cute head.

The morning had officially started for Sean, as his phone had started to vibrate, also making a tune that woke him up from his sleep. He grabbed his phone to shut off the alarm, and check the time, which was 9:00am. Since he was quite lazy, he placed his head back on the pillow so he could rest his eyes for a few more minutes.
Just that moment, Sean looked back up to notice that Natasha was not in her bed, the duvet was maid up and everything. This meant that Natasha had either left without him, or she was in a different room. Sean was hoping that she was in a different room, since it would be boring for him to travel on his own.
Still, Sean was tired and his eyes could barely stay open, therefore his head was placed back on the pillow, before the door had opened with a suprise.
"C'mon Sean, are you up yet?" Sean lifted his head up, to see Natasha at the door.
"Yeah, I'll be out in a sec. Wait for me outside, I'll be real quick." he persuaded her to wait for him outside, so she wouldn't get a head start. She nodded and walked out, closing the door.
Sean got out of his bed, then made the duvet the waiy it was before he slept in it. Then, since he didn't get dressed, he didn't need anything else to do. Sean got his phone, bag, and then off he went, leaving the room.
Once he walked outside, Natasha was next to the wall, on her moile phone. She flipped it down, and looked behing herself to see Sean.
"I'm ready now. Let's get going." they both started to walk down the street, the sun lit up the path that they were crossing. Every place they walked past was crowded, as it was the same time yesterday. It felt good for Sean to this time have someone by his side who was also a skilled Pokemon Trainer. That was when he remembered the last thing he had said last night.
"Hey... Natasha?" he said, bringing up a conversation.
"Yeah, Sean?" she looked at him, curious to hear what he was about to say once again.
"Wanna have that battle soon?" always curious to have a battle, Sean winked at her. She winked back at him to continue the conversation.
"Of course. Obviously not yet though, I wanna check out what Celadon has to offer first." she did sound interested, although she was more eager to do else first. Sean understood, as he wanted to do the same.
They then came across Route 8, Sean pointing to the place where he caught his shiny Eevee.
"That's the place. The place where I caught my Shiny Eevee!" his finger was strong and flat, Natasha was proud of him and chuckled for a moment. Then, as they continued to walk along the path, they ended up in the next city, Celadon City.
"Wow..." they both were stunned by the look of the breathtaking city, which was huge, even bigger than Celadon.
When Sean was walking on in any old direction, Natasha went on towards the big building, running like she was a crazy lunatic.
"Where you going!?" sean shouted to stop her so she got to ask why she was running to a certain place.
"I'll phone you later!" she turned around and made a gesture to show that he would know later on.
"Okay!" he let her know that he was fine with it, then she continued on towards the building. As for Sean, he was confused which place to go first. Any corner he turned would leave him shocked, in a good way.
Firstly, he was off to find the Gym among so many places, but one building got him really curious. It was not the biggest, that was for sure, but when he looked through the window, he could see a lot of people in a nicely looking building.
What was inside? Sean had to find out, so he curiously went to the door and went inside to check out what was happening.

@I,Scream - Nice post.

Okay for anyone who wants it... heres part 1 of Cinnabar Island:

Cinnabar Island

Recommended number of Posts: 2-4

Description: Cinnabar Island is best known for being built on an active volcano, as well as its natural hot springs. The Island also has a pokémon lab which specialises in the restoration of rare fossils.

What can you do in a City?

Heal your pokémon
Buy items
Explore the Town
Note: You may not catch wild pokémon in the city, and you cannot have pokémon Battles, unless you're in a special area, for example a gym. This is basically a place to restore your health and relax.

Places of Interest
Pokémon Center: A place where you may heal your pokémon and sleep all for free!
Poké Mart: You may buy Items here: Potion, pokéball, Antidote, Awakening, and Paralyze Heal
Pokémon Lab - If you are interested in pre-historic pokémon, this lab is a world leader in the study of ancient pokémon fossils.
Fossil Museum - The old abandoned mansion is no more! It has been converted into this museum which showcases all of the fossils that the lab have finished studying.

But I hear you cry, where is the Gym? Well the Gym has been relocated... out of town. The gym is now located inside of the volcano! To get there you must follow a short path, conveniently named 'Volcanic path'.

Volcanic Path

Many of the pokémon that were living in the abandoned mansion before it was converted into the new museum have taken refuge on this mountainside (well volcano-side) path.
Number of Posts: 2-3

Description: A path running from the end of Cycling Road into Fuschia City.

What can you do in a Route?

Generally the main two things you can do on a route are capturing pokémon and battling trainers. You can do many other things, you know free will and all that... Anyways, you cannot meet any of the other RPers, and everyone have fun.

Note - the title specifying the rarity of a pokémon refers to how hard a pokémon is to catch. i.e. a much better post is required to catch an uncommon pokémon than to catch a common pokémon.
How I level the pokémon you're catching will depend on how good your post is. When you're trying to catch a pokémon, you cannot decide if you catch it. When trying to catch a pokémon you have to finish your post off when you throw the pokéball and wait for my response telling you if the capture was successful or not. You cannot continue until you know that it was caught. In battles, I will level up your pokémon depending on the quality of your battle post.

Sam was sipping away at a grape soda when a voice came over the PA system. "Would Sam Sarube please report to the main battle deck for a challenge?" it said. Sam stood up and picked up his pokeballs from Nurse Joy. He picked Igglybuff up and placed her in his arms. Then, walked out the door, he headed to the main deck. Waiting there was none other than Casey, who was holding a pair of pokeballs. "Ah. I was wondering when you'd get here, Sam," Casey said, facing him. "Yeah...should've known it was you. Well, no point in wasting time," Sam said, stopping on the other side of the arena. "Yeah...battle time. Wartortle!" Casey said, throwing out a pokeball. Her Wartortle came out, looking particularly dangerous. Sam pondered what he should use. He decided that Vulpix wouldn't work. Water type. Then, Gyara might, but it would be a problem to catch its speed. Umbre would, but he knew Casey also had a Kadabra, and he'd need it then. Pidg was still recovering from his last duel and Igglybuff wasn't yet old enough to battle. He decided all he had that had a chance was Pika, who was already sparking in its pokeball. "Alright, buddy. SHOWTIME!" Sam said happily, throwing Pika's pokeball. Pika came out, sparking the air around him. "Heh...you sure you're up for this, Casey? This could be bad for you. Pika's one of the strongest pokemon I have," Sam said, as Pika sparked a little more. All those sparks from Andy's Thunderbolts seemed to have supercharged it for a while. Oh well. Just bad news for Casey.

"Okay, Pika! Let's use your Double Team!" Sam yelled. Pika seemed to split into several pokemon, all Pikachus as the attack commensed. Now they were all around the confused Wartortle, constantly running in circles. Wartortle's head seemed to be spinning as Sam said, "Now! Thundershock!" The bolts flew in, hitting Wartortle from many angles. The constant movement made it impossible to tell which was the real one, thbough, as Pika gave Wartortle no chances to make a comeback to stop the dangerous electric type attack. "Grr! Water Gun!" Casey yelled. Wartortle shot the blast of water at Pika's many clones and itself, but it hit a clone. Pika charged in with its tail shocking at this point, hitting Wartortle square on the head, causing it to fly backwards and hit the railing. "Now! Thunder Wave!" Sam yelled. Pika released its static electricity, glueing Wartortle to the railing. "Now finish it off with your THUNDERSHOCK!" Sam yelled. Pika shocked Wartortle, who was now screeching in pain. It wasn't able to do anything about it, either. This was all because of the great planning Sam had done, realizing how much he had to work with in this kind of a fight. Casey slowly returned her first pokemon, as it was now defeated. She looked at Sam and said, "Hm...you're not half bad. If nothing else, better. But now to use one of my better pokemon. Grant gave it to me, so it should be good. SWINUB!" Casey yelled.

A brown, pig-like pokemon appeared out of her pokeball. Sam could tell it was strong. And knowing Grant, it probably had some ace level move..."Go! Use Ice Shard!" Casey yelled. Pika's clones had faded at this point, so Sam sensed trouble. Sure enough, pieces of ice flew at Pika, knocking it to the ground. It must have been easy when there was only to attack. Still, Pika got up. He only had one move that might work. Quick Attack. It was worth a shot. "Pika, use Quick Attack!" Sam yelled. Pika quickly moved at its opponent, moving in to strike, when Casey smirked. "Use your Mud Bomb attack!" Casey yelled. Pika tried to dodge out of the way, but it was too late. A huge blob of mud hit it straight in the face, blinding it, as Casey yelled to have it use Take Down. Pika was knocked into the railng and nearly off the ship as Sam quickly returned it to its pokeball. "Hm...I'm not the only one who has strong pokemon, huh, Casey?" Sam asked, a touch mockingly. Casey made a sour face and said, "I'm still gonna be the best! Nothing you EVER say will stop me. You're pathetic and I will NEVER lose to you. Grant is way stronger than you, and me too, but you? Nothing!" Casey was obviously ber annoyed, but this was all part of his plan...

"Okay then. Last chance to win. Umbre!" Sam yelled, sending out his best pokemon. Umbre came out of its ball, ready to fight. "Okay. One more pathetic pokemon to defeat!" Casey said, mocking. "Heh...let's see how good you are? Use Psychic to toss it up, then use Shadow Ball!" Sam yelled. A nice lift from Psychic tossed Swinub up in the air, as a black blob hit it, causing it to fly up a bit more, but then fall. "Okay! Now Iron Tail!" Sam yelled. Umbre jumped up, slashing at with Iron Tail. Swinub fell to the ground, making it fall a bit faster. It hit the ground a whined a little. "No. You have to beat Sam's pathetic pokemon. Now! Use Ice Shard!" Casey yelled. Swinub hesitated, but then shot ice at Umbre, who couldn't do anything about it. It didn't seem to take much damage, as it had high defensive abilities. "Go for it, use Pursuit!" Sam yelled. Umbre charged, covered in dark energy, at Swinub, who side stepped at the last minute. Sam had anticipated it, though. "Spin and use Iron Tail!" Sam yelled. Umbre spun, knocking it into a railing. Swinub seemed to believe that it couldn't go too much more. "Grr! Stop doing that! Don't do that! BEAT IT!" Casey yelled. "Stop forcing it to fight. It doesn't want to. Either way. Umbre, finish it off. Use Psychic to toss it once more!" Sam yelled. Umbre easily lifted and finished off its opponent.

Sam had taken a nice rest the night before. Pretty peaceful. All his pokemon were now healed, as Sam walked off the boat. He had arrived on Cinnabar Island that morning. Now, he was looking for the gym. He couldn't find it anywhere, so he decided to ask a local for information. Finding a boy, he asked, "Excuse me. Would you happen to know where I could find the Cinnabar Gym?" Sam asked. The boy looked at him with a weird face. "Don't you know Blane relocated about a year ago? He's further back. In the volcano, now. Well, good luck," the boy said, heading back to town. Sam thought about this a minute. "The Volcano? Ouch...that's not gonna be much fun. Still, I oughta get moving. I need to get headed to the gym. Now," Sam said. Holding Igglybuff a bit tighter. Then, he got moving. He hadn't been moving long when he sighted a wild Koffing. "Hm...a Koffing?" Sam asked. It puffed out gas. It reminded him a bit of an uncontroled Koga pokemon. He pulled out Vulpix's pokeball and let it loose. Vulpix's fur brisled at the sight of it, but then shook its head. The stench was overpowering. "Lets do this fast. Use Ember while running under it!" Sam said. Vulpix charged under the Koffing, who didn't seem to notice it was there until Vulpix shot the flames at it. It fell to the ground a couple inches from Vulpix, who then knoced it into a nearby rock. "Good work! Now use your Quick Attack to make it dizzy!" Sam said. Vulpix ran a quick circle around Koffing, who was now back in the air. "Koffing!" Koffing cried, releaseing a purple cloud of gas. Poison Gas attack. "Hm...use Ember! Now!" Sam yelled. Vulpix shot some small flames, which, when hitting the gas, exploded. "Whoa. Talk about an interesting move...well, keep going! Hit it with your Ember!" Sam yelled, as Vulpix released some flames. The Koffing was obviously stronger than he was, but Vulpix had guts. It wasn't goint to let this get in its way. "Okay! Now, use your Ember attack on your tail, then smash it with Tail Whip!" Sam yelled. Vulpix lit its tail up and charged up and slapped Koffing, who hit the ground with a thud and its eyes closed. Vulpix had won.

"Good work," Sam said, petting Vulpix. Igglybuff hopped on Vulpix and laughed. Vulpix also laughed, and Sam picked it up. Returning Vulpix to its pokeball, Sam kept walking. He wanted to get to this gym by nightfall. He had a little while. He had been walking a little while, when he checked his watch. It was noon. Sam sat down and pulled out some food he had purchased in town. Regular food and pokemon food. Sending out all his pokemon, he put it in 6 seperate bowls for them to eat. They all enjoyed a nice lunch, as Sam ate away at a sandwich. It was really nice out here, despite all the ash coming from the volcano. He knew he had to keep moving, so he returned everyone soon after lunch. They hadn't been moving long when he finally spotted another pokemon. This one didn't look like your average pokemon. It was an Elekid, his pokedex said. It was an electric type, so Sam thought carefully about how he wanted to deal with it. Gyara wasn't a good idea. Too many disadvantages. Neither was Pidg. Umbre could, and it was probably Sam's best option, but as he reached for Umbre's ball, he felt Pika's. It was sparking. Sam knew it wanted to fight. "Okay then! Pika!" Sam yelled. Pika flew out of the ball. It was ready to fight with this pokemon. "Kid!" Elekid cried, charging forward. Pika was about to dodge it, but it kicked low, knocking Pika to the ground. Then, it ran at Pika, a white light flying behind it. It was certain it would hit, but Sam thought otherwise. "Go, use your speed to get under it, then slap it with your tail!" Sam yelled.

Pika charged under it, as it hit the ground, then turning around, it slapped Elekid across the face. Not dangerous, but it stopped it and blinded it. "Go for it! Slam!" Sam yelled. Pika lunged forward, knocking Elekid into the ground. It was angry now. "EELLEEE!" Elekid yelled, shocking Pika with its electricity. Pika was a little shocked, but nothing more. "Go for it with one final Slam attack!" Sam yelled. Pika knocked the lesser electric type backwards, towards a rock. Pika wasn't just going to let an Elekid beat it. It was getting stronger every day. "Good work, Pika!" Sam said, happily. The Elekid ran away, back towards the town. Sam kept walking. Now, the gym was in sight. He wanted to keep going, but he needed to rest. It was only about 1:30, so he could still probably make it. He laid down to take a short rest...

"Good, how would you like a nickname? How about Bell, it sounds like your name," Kairi sejested to her. Bellsprout nodded her head,"Ok, Bell after I put you in a PokeBall you'll be sent to Professor Maple's lab, but I may be able to get you out later ok. I'll need you for my first gym battle." Kairi told her.

Kairi had looked up gyms in her guide book and knew that the gym leader, Brok used rock types and that there weak against grass Pokemon. Kairi threw the PokeBall at Bell and caught her. Bell was then sent to Professor Maple's lab.

Kairi then checked the time on her Poketch. It was already 5:00 in the evening. She'd just make it to Pewter City. Her and her Pokemon then continued on to Pewter City. It wouldn't take very longer to get there as the rest of Route 2 was very short.

In about ten minutes Kairi had reached Pewter City. The first thing the girl did was head to the Mart to stock up on items. She brought somemore PokeBalls, Potions, Antidotes, Awakenings, and Paralyze Heals.

Just as she was walking outside the Mart carrying her bags she ran into a little boy that looked like he was very poor and all alone all by himself,"What's wrong?" Kairi asked him.

"I've been wanting a Pokemon for a very long time but I can't aford to have one. Me and my daddy are very poor," said the eight year old boy. He started crying. Kairi felt so sorry for the boy, so she took her Nidoran egg out and said,"Hey stop crying, it will be ok. Here, you can have my Pokemon egg. Inside is a Nidoran, I don't know which Nidoran it is but you'll find out when it hatches ok."

"Gee, thanks a lot lady," the boy said as he took the egg and ran off running home with it. Kairi grinned happily. It felt good to help this kid out with his problem.

Kairi decided that since she has a space in her party she'd take Bell out, out of storage. She went to the Pokemon Center, and got Bell from Professor Maple. She let her out. Bell looked happy to see her,"Ok, you two were going to the gym now. I'll need your grass attacks for the battle."

Both Rose and Bell nodded there heads. Kairi then went to the gym, with Sparky on her shoulder and Rose and Bell following her. Kairi walked inside the gym, and up to Brock the gym leader,"I'd like to battle for a badge please."

"Ok, it will be a two on two battle," Brock said getting up from where he was sitting. He led Kairi into the battlefield room, which looked like a rock battlefield. Brock got on one side and Kairi on the other,"I'll start out with, Geodude. Go!" He said releasing Geodude onto the battlefield,"Geodude!" It said as it appeared in a flash of light.

"Ok, go Bell!" Kairi called. She walked out onto the battlefield to face the Geodude,'Oh no! She's using grass Pokemon,' Brock thought, knowing he was in trouble.

The battle then started. Brock decided the best thing to do was to increase his Geodude's defense as much as possible,"Geodude use Defence Curl!" He told it. "Geo!" Geodude said, increasing it's defense.

"Bell, use Vine Whip!" Kairi told her. "Bell!" Bell said sending it's vines at the Geodude and hitting it with Vine Whip. Kairi was surprised. Her attack didn't do as much damage as it should have,"What's going on here?" Kairi asked Brock.

"My Geodude, increased it's defense power with Defense Curl," Brock explained to Kairi. "Oh no!" Kairi said, realizing that, that meant that this battle was going to last longer then what she thought.

And Vine Whip was Bell's only attack right now. Kairi figured that it still must have done some pretty good damage though, since it's Super Effective. Brock then told his Geodude, to use Tackle attack,"Bell dodge it and use Vine Whip again!" Kairi told her. Bell dodged Geodude's Tackle attack, and then used Vine Whip hitting the Geodude hard, spinning it around in a circle.

"Geodude!" Brock screamed. After it was over, Geodude looked kinda dizzy from having being spun around in a circle by Vine Whip. "Your Bellsprout's pretty strong....uh...I didn't get your name."

"It's Kairi. And your Geodude's pretty strong as well," Kairi said grinning at Brock. The battle then continued on. Brock told Geodude to use Defense Curl again. And Kairi got Bell to use Vine Whip. The battle kept on going on like this until Geodude had, had enough, and fainted.

Brock called back Geodude into it's PokeBall while Kairi called Bell back into hers. Brock sent out his mighty Onix, while Kairi sent Rose into battle. Onix looked very strong and powerful, but Kairi knew that Rose was at a much higher level then the Onix was.

Kairi decided to end this battle quicky,"Rose, use Poison Powder!" Rose shot poisonous spores all over the Onix's body. Onix screamed in pain as it got poisoned by Rose's attack. The poison started sapping away at Onix's HP.

"Onix use Bind!" Brock called out. "Oh no! Watch out Rose!" Kairi called. It was too late. The Onix grabbed the helpless Oddish and started squeezing her. Rose screamed in pain. She felt like the life was being sucked out of her. "Rose use Absorb!" Kairi told her. Rose started draining away at Onix's HP.

"I'd let go of Rose if I were you Brock. The longer Onix holds Rose the more HP she will drain from it's body," Kairi sejested to Brock. He told Onix to let go. Onix let go of Rose who jumped back down to the floor,"Oddish."

"Rose! Acid attack!" Kairi called. Rose spit acid all over the Onix's body lowering it's defense by one point. Onix didn't like the Acid at all. "Onix use Rock Tomb!" Brock told his Onix. The Onix shot Rock Tomb at Rose. She was knocked backwards.

The poison was still affecting Onix very badly,"Ok, Rose Onix looks very weak, one more Absorb attack should do the trick!" Kairi told her. Rose nodded as she used Absorb on Onix, knocking the big Pokemon out. Onix had fainted, mostly from being poisoned.

Brock was impressed. He recalled Onix and walked over to Kairi,"That was a great fight Kairi. Your a very strong trainer. That was very smart to use my Onix's Bind against it. I'm sure you'll go far in the Pokemon League. Here is the Bolder Badge," Brock handed Kairi a bage that looked like a rock. Kairi cheered as she held up her first badge in victory.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kairi was in Mt. Moon with her Pokemon, there hadn't been much to see on Route 3, so she hadn't stayed there very long. She had wanted to catch a Jigglypuff but hadn't found one there. Kairi was passing by a corner when she heard someone talking,"Where are those Moon Stones? They must be here somewhere."

Kairi saw a man dressed in a black suit. He turned around and there was a red letter R on his shirt. He saw Kairi,"What do you want! If you mess up Team Rocket's plans you'll regret it!"

"But...but I," Kairi didn't have time to explain before a battle broke out.The man sent out his Venomoth. Kairi sent Sparky into battle. The man told his Venomoth to use Silver Wind. It shot Silver Wind at Sparky.

"Sparky dodge and use Thundershock!" Kairi called out to her Pikachu. Sparky dodged the attack and released a mighty Thundershock into the Venomoth's body. Venomoth screamed in pain. "Stun Spore!" The man called. The Venomoth released Stun Spore at Sparky, but being the fighter he was Sparky dodged the attack again.

Kairi didn't understand what this Team Rocket was. She'd have to ask Professor Maple about it later. But first she had to finish this battle,"Sparky jump up onto Venomoth and use Thundershock!" She told him. Sparky jumped up onto Venoth's back and released Thundershock right onto it. It was a cirtical hit, and Venomoth fainted.

The Team Rocket member recalled his Venomoth and ran at Kairi planning on attacking her himself,"Hey! Your not playing fair! Sparky Thundershock!" Kairi called out. Sparky released Thundershock onto the Team Rocket member sending him flying,"I'm blasting off again!" He screamed.

Kairi decided to get out of here before more of these guys showed up. She grabbed Sparky and Rose and ran off. She didn't stop running until she hit Route 4. Once there she sit her Pokemon back down onto the ground and pulled out her Poketch and called Professor Maple,"Professor, I just had an encounter with a man that says he's from some team called Team Rocket. What in the world is Team Rocket, anyway?"

Once Sean walked through the door, he was quite suprised as to what was going on in such a small place. There was a man at the side of him, who welcomed him into the building,
"Welcome to the Celadon Game Corner boy! Check out all the wonders of the place which can really give you some leisure and fun!" he was a jolly man who raised his hands in the air in overexcitement. Sean made a small giggle, but he really thought that the man was a little odd in the head.
Anyways, as Sean continued through the Game Corner, he could see so many oppurtunities he could take up. Such as: the roulette machines, the slot machines, and one attraction especially that grabbed his attention. There were line-ups of Pokemon of different types that were used to tackle obstacles, all different depending on the type of Pokemon used.
Suddenly, while Sean was staring at the attractions, a beam of light came from his pocket. Although this scared Sean for a second, all it was was a Pokemon jumping out of its PokeBall, and it was his very own best friend, Growlithe.
"Hello Growlithe, good morning?" he stroked Growlithe who was sitting on its four legs, Growlithe yapped twice as an excited emotion.
Just then, Sean started to think abvout what could be done if he won the attraction, what he could win. Either way, he was going to put it towards Growlithe, as it was his main Pokemon and he had been focussing on Flareon.
One man who was standing by the attraction, as if he were the leader, had came by to notice Sean standing next to there, with a Fire-typed Pokemon. Sean noticed him looking back at him, his black hat and cape with some sort of stick. Sean's first thought was that he could be a crazy old man, but he was not crazy nor old when he had came over to speak to him.
"Hello there! Welcome to the Pokemon Game! Here, you can use your Pokemon to overcome this obstacle to gain a very rare prize that you probably will not find anywhere else! It's very cheap. Interested?" he was very persuasive with his tone of voice and facial language, Sean couldn't resist, only for the prize.
"Yeah, actually. I'm going to use my Growlithe here. What's the prize?" he got to the point about the prize. The man was intrigued to see him go after it.
"Ahh, great to see a boy so enthusiastic. The prize for your Growlithe will be special, a small, shiny Fire Stone! It can be yours if you win this attraction, for a small $100!" when Sean had heard the prize, he immediately got the 100 PokeDollars from his wallet and handed it to the man in black. Growlithe was very excited, and made one bark in excitement as its smile widenned. As for Sean, he wanted this Fire Stone very bad, as he needed it to evolve Growlithe some time, since he probably would never get the oppurtunity to get an evolutionary stone ever again.
Sean was brought to the front of the line, behind a stand where a boy had his Charmander using its flames to melt something that looked like a big block of ice. There was a timer going on in the backfground, then as the timer had buzzed to end the challenge, he had failed.
"Aww! I was so close too!" the boy and his Charmander had walked out of the Game Corner in harsh disappointment, meanwhile this had got his word cut out for him, showing this was not going to be such a walk in the park for him.
Once Sean and Growlithe stepped up to the stand, a Fire stone was flaced on it. However, Sean couldn't just grab it. There was a tub of water being placed upside down over it, then set to freeze. When the tub was taken off, it had left a huge ice block.
Before Sean had asked what to do, the man had immediately given out the instructions,
"Now, your Growlithe has 15 seconds to melt this huge block of ice with the fire power it holds. If you succeed, the Fire Stone is yours. However, if you fail, you walk away with nothing. Are you ready, now?" Sean had understood him, and nodded in reply to show that he was ready. As did Growlithe, who had stood up to concentrate.
"Alright... 3... 2... 1..." he was holding his stopwatch, while the signal was in sync with the clock behind the stand so Sean could see, then he had pressed the button to start recording the time, "GO!"
Growlithe had immediately started to breath its scorching breath towards the block of crystal-clear ice that was in their way. As each second went on by, the ice was minimizing by the heat that was being emitted by Growlithe's mouth. Five seconds had passed, and the ice was still firm and needed to melt down further, while it was leaving a puddle of water on the bottom of the stand.
"Carry on Growlithe, you can do it! Kick it up a gear!" Sean's encouragement was working, as Growlithe was shutting its eyes to concentrate its mind on the ice, more heat was shooting out of its mouth now, it was showing in both temperature and sound. Now, ten seconds had gone by and the ice was nearly just a puddle of water, Sean was crossing his fingers in hope that Growlithe would successfully win this game.
Then, the man wearing black was counting down to the end. "Five.. four... three... two-" he had stopped to count down, as the ice was fully melted down and was now just a puddle of cold water. He had applauded with pride, as did Sean who stroked Growlithe's head to show how pleased he was.
"AS promised, since you have taken down the ice block, here is your reward." the Fire stone was removed from the Stand, and was placed into Sean's hand. It wasn't cold at all, despite being kept into a freezing cold ice cube.
"Alright! We got a Fire Stone, Growlithe!" they both looked at each other and cheered, then Sean had put it in his pocket. "Now then, let's check out the rest of Celadon together, shall we?" they had walked towards the exit, Growlithe nodded its head in agreement.

"Team Rocket! There an evil group that uses Pokemon for taking over the world. If you ever meet them again, call Offier Jenny. She'll know what to do," the Professor explained to Kairi,"Ok, thanks, bye," Kairi said hanging up.

Kairi then continued onwards towards the next area where she would win her second badge. She couldn't wait to get to Cerulean City. It had her favorite gym leader, Misty in it. The reason why, Misty was her favorite gym leader is cause she and Misty both love water Pokemon. Kairi just picked up both Sparky and Rose and ran the rest of the way to Cerulean City, hearts in her eyes.

Kairi had also knew Misty for a very long time as well. She knew her since before she became a gym leader. They had been best friends growing up. Kairi couldn't wait to see her old friend. The first thing Kairi did was stop by the Pokemon Center and heal her Pokemon. Just as she was walking away she noticed a new store in the City. It sold things for Pokemon fishing.

Kairi decided while she was here she may as well bye a Super Rod, and some Pokemon bait, which she did. Now she could fish for water Pokemon. Kairi got excited. She couldn't wait, to catch her first water type Pokemon.

Anyway, Kairi went to the gym. A young girl that worked for Misty answered it. She knew it was Kairi right away and let her in. Kairi walked up to Misty,"Hey Misty how you been," Kairi said with a grin to her best friend.

"Oh, it's you Kairi, hi," Misty said, grinning back. "Your gym looks great," Kairi told her. "Really?" Misty asked,"Maybe someday I'll let you help me run it."

"Cool," Kairi said,"Anyway, I just became a Pokemon Trainer not too long ago and I've come to challenge you if that's ok."

"Sure! I never back down from a challenge. But just cause were friends don't think I'll go easy on you, Kairi," Misty told her, with this evil grin on her face. "I don't want you to," Kairi told her. Misty led Kairi into the battlefield. It was beautiful. It was a large swimming pool with very beautiful pictures of Pokemon on the walls. Kairi got hearts in her eyes again. She loved it.

The battle then begin,"I guess your going to use that Oddish and Pikachu against me huh, since I only have water types," Misty said. "Not really. My Metapod needs training so it will evolve so I think I'll use him," Kairi explained.

Misty laughed,"Your going to use a weak Pokemon like a Metapod against my Staryu and Goldeen. But not just for one round but for both." She giggled. "My Metapod's much stronger then you think Misty," Kairi told her. "Ok, but don't say I didn't warn you, Kairi," Misty said, releasing her Goldeen.

The battle then started with Kairi releasing Metapod onto the battlefield,"Metapod use Harden," Kairi told him. "Metapod!" Metapod said hardening up his body raising his defense. "Goldeen, Horn Attack!" Misty called out. "Goldeen!" Goldeen said swimming towards Metapod using Horn Attack. And since Metapod's a type of Pokemon that can't move it had no choice but to take the hit.

But after it hit the Goldeen bounded off of Metapod and back into the water,"Oh Misty I forgot to tell you that when my Metapod uses Harden he not only raises his defense but his body gets as hard as diamonds," Kairi informed her. Misty realized she was in trouble here.

Misty just let it be. She called out for Goldeen to use Peck this time. She was determined not to give up no matter what. "Metapod! Use Harden again!" Kairi told him. "Meta!" Metapod said, once again hardening up his body. Kairi wanted to raise his defense as much as possible so when Misty sent out her Staryu, Metapod's defense would be very high.

Goldeen was once again sent flying backwards by Metapod's hard diamond like skin. But even though Metapod's defense was being raised very high, he was still taking some damage and Kairi knew it.

"I won't take this laiding down! Goldeen use Supersonic!" Misty called out. "No! Metapod!" Kairi screamed. She was in trouble now. She knew that Supersonic would hit since Metapod can't move. She closed her eyes and prayed. Just then she felt Sparky tugging at her leg,"Pika, pikachu."

Kairi opened her eyes to see that Metapod had jumped straight up into the air to avoid the Supersonic attack,"Wow! Metapod, I didn't know you could move," Kairi said very impressed. "Don't you know anything Kairi, a Metapod can move straight up in the air, that's all," Misty explained to her confused friend.

"Oh," Kairi said. Metapod landed back onto the floating platform on the water. "Goldeen another Horn attack!" Misty called out. "Metapod Harden!" Kairi called to him. Goldeen swam at Metapod using Horn Attack, while Metapod hardened his body. Misty called out Horn Attack three more times after while Kairi kept on calling out Harden.

Misty's Goldeen was getting pretty tried right about now. And Kairi noticed that,"Ok, Metapod it's time. Use Tackle attack!" Kairi told him. Metapod jumped straight up in the air and landed on Goldeen hard. It was then that Kairi realized her mistake. When Metapod fell off Goldeen he would drown to death,"No! Metapod! Get out of there now!" Kairi panicked.

Lucky, she had warned Metapod in time. He jumped off of Goldeen back onto his platform just as Goldeen fainted. That was close, Kairi had almost caused her Metapod to drown. Misty recalled, Goldeen and sent out Staryu. She realized her mistake and said,"Kairi let's finish this battle away from the pool. I don't want your Metapod to drown to death."

"Really? Thanks a lot Misty," Kairi said. She got her Metapod and followed Misty over to beside the pool. The battle then continued,"Metapod Tackle!" Kairi called out to Metapod. "Staryu! Rapid Spin!" Misty told her Staryu.

Both Pokemon hit each other and was sent flying backwards. Even though Staryu like Metapod also knew Harden, Misty never used it, cause she just liked using it's other attacks. She didn't know it but using nothing but power attacks would be her downfall this time around.

"Water Gun Staryu!" Misty screamed. Staryu shot Water Gun at Metapod not doing very much damage at all since Metapod's defense was so high from the battle with Goldeen. "Very good Metapod!" Kairi cheered for her Pokemon,"Now! Use String Shot!"

Metapod shot String Shot all over the Staryu, lowering it's speed, slowing it down. "Rapid Spin again Staryu!" Misty called. "Use String Shot again Metapod and dodge it!" Kairi told him.

Kairi's Metapod jumped up out of the way of Staryu's attack and shot strings all over the star shaped Pokemon, lowering it's speed somemore. Kairi's plan was to make Staryu so slow that it could barely move at all.

"Water Gun again Staryu!" Misty called. Staryu shot Water Gun at Metapod,"Harden!" Kairi screamed. Metapod used Harden, raising his defense just as the water hit him, bunding off not doing anything. To Metapod it was just like taking a nice shower.

"Darn it!" Misty complained starting to get pissed off. "String Shot again!" Kairi told Metapod. Metapod shot strings at Staryu again. Now it's speed was so slow it could barely move at all,"Now! Metapod finish it off by jumping up and down on it with Tackle!" Kairi told him.

Metapod kept on jumping up and down on Staryu slamming it into the ground. Misty couldn't call out any attacks while this was happening as her Staryu couldn't move with a Metapod on top of it. Pretty soon, Staryu just fainted, it's jeweled center binking. Metapod jumped back down right next to the pool.

Misty recalled her Staryu to it's PokeBall. Kairi walked over to Misty to get her badge when all of a sudden there was a splash as her Metapod tripped up falling into the pool,"Oh no! Metapod!" Kairi screamed very loudly as she watched her Pokemon sink to the very bottom of the pool.

@Konekodemon - Things dont look too good for Metapod...

Congratulations Metapod grew to Level 10

Kairi watched with tears in her eyes as Metapod landed on the pool floor. She began to fear the worst, before a bright light erupted from the pool. Kairi had to shield her eyes, to protect them from the bright light. When she looked back, she saw a delicate looking butterfly type pokemon emerging from the water. Kairi stared in wonder as the drenched butterfly flew wearily over to her and landed tiredly on her shoulder. "Free" said the pokemon weakly, but happily.

"So, your Metapod evolved..." said Misty, "I thought it looked strong during our battle! Here is the Cascade Badge to prove you successfully defeated me..."

Congratulations Metapod evolved to Butterfree and learned Confusion

Congratulations Kairi earned a Cascade Badge

Warren stretched slowly as he came off the boat, taking in the ominous volcano that dominated the scenery.
"This island is awesome!" Liv rolled her eyes.
"It's a boring rocky little dump. How is that awesome?" Warren pointed at the mountain in the background.
"It's got a freaking volcano."
"Yeah, a dormant one. If it was active, do you really think Blaine would have moved the gym to the centre?" Warren blanched.
"Wait, you mean that to battle him, I have to go to the heart of a volcano?"
"Yeah, but its dormant, like I said...Look, our house is just at the edge of the town, at the start of the path leading to the mountain. You should probably drop off your Pokemon at the centre first, then meet us there." Warren nodded, turning towards the town as the siblings hurried off home. Walking into the Pokemon Centre, he dropped his Pokeballs on the desk in front of Nurse Joy, then whipped the Sludge Bomb TM out on a whim.
"Hey, Nurse Joy, I don't really get how to use these, so could you give it to my Venonat for me?" She nodded mechanically and Warren sighed, before turning and walking straight back out the door.

Liv and Danny's house was big. More than that, it was huge. Massive, even. Warren's eyes slowly got wider and wider as he walked up the drive, framed by two high hedge walls. The door opened and Liv's head stuck out, grinning.
"Welcome to Saunders Mansion!" she called jokingly, sticking her tongue out, "Mum and Dad aren't in, so I'm rustling up some grub. Make yourself at home, it's almost done." Warren grinned as he wandered through to the living room, where Danny was slouched on a sofa, half-watching something on TV.
"Hey, what's up?" Warren asked, falling onto a couch opposite. Danny shrugged.
"Nothing much. Liv's making a fry up. TV's as crap as usual. It's weird, y'know," he added, "You spend half the time on the road missing your home and once you get home you can't wait to be off again. Everything here just seems boring and mundane after being on a real adventure...Speaking of which," he turned to Warren, "When are you going to face Blaine?" Warren shrugged.
"I dunno. I need to call home, really. Haven't spoken to Mum since I left...I'm guessing Blaine's into the fire-type, then, seeing as he set up in a volcano?" Danny nodded.
"Yeah, and he's tough. Me and Liv went to him when we first started and we both got completely thrashed." Warren frowned. At least he had Poliwag and Cubone. Between them, they should be able to get the job done. Suddenly, a scream came from the kitchen, followed by several crashes. A second later, Liv walked in, her hair dripping wet.
"Alright, there may be a slight problem guys," she gasped breathlessly, walking back through with the two boys in her wake. Warren laughed as he walked into the spacious kitchen, a scene of utter chaos greeting his eyes. Broken plates littered the floor, half of the wooden worktop was burnt and everything was soaking wet. Bibarel stood in the corner, a proud look on its face.
"Yeah, I kinda overdid the bacon a bit," Liv explained, "And then it kinda caught fire, so I kinda called out Bibarel to put out the fire, but Water Gun was kinda a bit too powerful so..." Liv gestured to the kitchen, then started as the door slammed.
"Oh...I think our parents might be back." Warren stared at her.
"What? They're going to kill me!"
"Why would they kill you?"
"Because they don't know me and the first time they meet me, their daughter just happens to have destroyed the kitchen!" Liv opened her mouth, closed it, then opened it again.
"Good point." Warren grinned, then dashed to the other end of the kitchen, throwing open a window. Liv gasped.
"Wait, so you're just going to run away?" Warren winked, then hopped over the window sill.
"Hell yeah!" Turning, he ran round to the front of the house as shouts erupted from within. Chuckling to himself, he jogged to the Pokemon Centre to see Nurse Joy walking in from the back room with a tray of Pokeballs in her hand.
"Sludge Bomb worked okay?" he asked and Joy nodded mechanically. Grinning, Warren snatched back the balls, clipping them onto his belt.
"Alright, Blaine," he whispered, looking towards the volcano, "I'm coming for your badge!"
