He said, "prepare to have your headcanons destroyed". I wish I knew what that meant. There were/are so many theories coming out in the wake of "Not What He Seems" that it could mean almost anything.

Btw - Disney will soon release premiere dates on the shows they have coming back for July, so check Toonzone for upcoming details on that. We know Gravity Falls has "A Tale of Two Stans" on the 13th, but there's always the possibility for another episode that same month. I hope that's not the only episode we have to look forward to in the near future. I would really hate to finally have the show on again, only for it go right back on hiatus after a single 22-minute episode. I wanna see how the Author fits in after thirty years in the Portal, where Dipper and Mabel go after NWHS, what Bill Cipher's plans are, etc.

Nah that guy was an experiment. It pretended to be the Author so it could get its hands on the Author's research and expand its abilities and escape. But it was just imitating a guy on a can of beans lol

A couple of things I've always wondered about that episode:

- Was the shapeshifter the only monster down there? Dipper and Wendy first encounter it having ripped out a tongue. What tongue did that belong to? I guess it could have been the shapeshifter's, but it throws it down. There could be another monster down there.
- And if the shapeshifter couldn't get out of the Author's underground bunker then who opened the can of beans that Soos finds in the hideout? The can that makes Dipper speculate that the Author might have been down there recently.

Satisfied the episode explained as to how and why Stan(ley) took his brother's identity. Very sad how their relationship went downhill after the science fair incident. :< Hopefully Dipper and Mabel won't have a similar situation (closest thing was when they wanted separated rooms).

Satisfied with the backstory, not so satisfied with how it was presented? I've gotten so used to like zero exposition in Gravity Falls it was hard to take so much. The episode felt rushed and packed but not in a good way? The narration of events like that is something we havent seen since episode one and I didnt like it. It interrupts the flow imo. And I'm kind of annoyed that Dipper and Mabel arent one of the Stans grandkids and they just like yeah they directly related to this other sibling :/

Yeah I didn't forgot about that room. :P First started with them wanting separate rooms (Dipper tired of Mabel having her sleepovers with her friends), and once they found that room that's when they argue who gets it.

I can understand the pacing and exposition is a lot to take in as we're going through several years of what happened between Stanley and Stanford in a thirty minute episode format. Perhaps it'll be better as two episodes, though I'm assuming the show probably has x more episodes to get through more plot stuff. One thing I like at least is as to why Stanley has several fake identifications. And as for Dipper and Mabel related to another sibling, while it would be a great twist if they related to one of the Stans, I guess Alex doesn't want to complicate things further after the Stans' backstory has been revealed.

see as i think about it more, its really not the hirsch way to just offhandedly intro a character like that, especially one of significance. and its not really clear if shermy is the baby? an older sibling who had that baby (which then calls into question why ford was surprised at having nieces/nephews)? and anyway if shermy is the baby it really pulls up a very questionable timeline for them to be dipper and mabel's grandparents- consider:

- lee is kicked out at 18
- ford spends four years at college
- then six in gravity falls (journal 3, lee not seeing him for 10 years)
- shit goes down in 1982
- dip and mabel born in 2000
- 2012 is 30 years since

so this gives us
- stans born in 1954 (1982-10=1972, 1972-18=1954)
- shermy?baby born 1971/2
- split in 1972
- ford in college 72-76
- ford in GF 76-82
- lee in GF 82-2012
- twins born 2000

now, if shermy is the babbu, they were born in 71/2 and would be 18 in 89/90. then they would have to have a child... and that child would have to have mabel and dipper... in the span of ten years? what? that doesnt make sense.

it's lee that claims they are related to shermy. ford is probably unaware that his brother has become a fantastic liar and conman and is likely a bit too unstable to do the math. mabel and dipper don't correct anyone, but lets be real what do they know about that part of the family? fuck all, really.

im not usually one to delve into conspiracies and overanalysis but. this whole episode seems off kilter. and when something seems off in gravity falls, it's probably intentional.

I finally just saw the latest episode though and i loved it the series just keeps getting better!

I'm honestly not too keen on the self-referential humor that has been present in the last few episodes. It takes me out of the show somewhat and like. It's really heavy-handed. I keep seeing people be like "oh hirsch u sly dog" but tbh theyre really obvious jokes idk

Yesterday's episode the Sanchurian Candidate aired!

I thought there was a good mixture of comedic and serious stuff. Wished Ford was featured more instead of brushing off Dipper when he gave him that mind controlling tie. Would also be interesting how Ford reacts to Stan's many crimes lol.

I don't think everyone wanna voted Stan. He been kicked out on many states due to lying and being an expert CON. If Ford stop busy with other stuff, he is most likely to be the replacements

The Last Mablecorn recently aired!

I think I prefer the Sanchurian Candidate over today's episode, but it's still a fun one overall. I already have a feeling that unicorn is fishy when she rejects Mabel twice. The backstory between Bill and Ford feels somewhat rushed, though it explains a bit more about what McGrunket saw in A Tale of Two Stans.

Anyone watched Brooklyn 99? Apparently Chelsea Peretti will voice a character in next episode, so this should be fairly interesting.
