Biggest Waste Of Your Time (In a videogame)

    For me it was the free weekend of Black Ops.
    I played for about 5 hours and realized I hated it. Mainly because the gameplay was run around and shoot with no tactical value, even in other game types.
    Also some of the people on it were mostly 12 year olds who were just screaming into their mics saying how they were better than everyone, swearing, and bragging about their "prestige" overall a horrible experience for me.

    Im sticking with COD 4.
     
    Hm, well I usually know what content will be in my games before I buy them, mainly because I read reviews and what not, unless it's like a franchise that I love, I'd buy it no matter how crap it was.

    Although, I went over my friends once, she had that Dr. Who game for the Wii. It was terrible, crappy controls and everything. She got it for a pressy, but it's around £29.99 in the shops, so I feel sorry for the person who bought it for her. xD
     
    Either running through Portal for an hour without remembering to save, or spending a good five years of my life grinding up in Maple Story. XD Oh man, the time I've spent playing that game...
     
    Attempting to get into Dota. High entry barrier (to the point where so-called beginner guides left me even more clueless than I was before reading them...or maybe the guides just sucked) and an extremely unfriendly community.

    Not saving for a while and losing progress exceeds the time lost by the above by far, but it's not like it doesn't happen to everybody more or less frequently...or is it?
     
    Persona 3 Portable. I poured 70+ hours into a game that is, on a whole, underwhelming. Even worse, I actually started a new file with the girl before I realized how boring the game actually was. File got deleted around the middle of June, and I never tried to get that time back.

    Try League Of Legends instead, its a DOTA style game but with a friendlier community
     
    So many....but my worst...

    I was trying to get this Trophy for Sonic 2.....I don't wanna talk about how much time I spent. I had to youtube the damned thing to figure out what to do. And it was a friggin bronze trophy. T_T
     
    I dunno.. Sometimes I feel like all I games I played was a waste of time.. But in the end, there's always nostalgia that makes you feel like playing it again.

    RuneScape (most nostalgic tbh, i didn't even know what 'u' stand for back in those days) , maplestory. First person shooters..
     
    - Playing through Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and unknowingly doing a stupid glitch about 75% through the game that makes you unable to continue in the game.

    - Buying and playing Empire Earth III. Terrible game.
     
    Playing Star Wars battlefront 2 for around 50 hours in my life. I figure out that I hate it.
     
    I waste my time in FIFA.

    Now I have ordered COD:BO, so my waste of time will increase, and considering that now I'm on holidays...
     
    Either the two hours spent trying to jump onto a rope in alone in the dark (a terrible game anyway) until giving up.

    Or...

    The amount of days gametime I must have lost over the years by not saving. (Especially on Football Manager, every steam achievement = crash)
     
    I remember playing Condemned: Criminal Origins on a certain FINALS week in my first semester of college. I wasted my study time playing that game rather than studying. xD
     
    Completing the quest "One Small Favour" on RuneScape.
    All for 20k freaking experience to... I believe Summoning.
     
    Wasting a few weekend morning getting angry over a water-based galaxy in SMG. I hate everything associated with that galaxy now. (In the Mario games at least.)
