    I'm just really curious for everyone that plays the tcg irl (not just online), those that play and collect the tcg.
    Do you put cards you collect and cards for trade in the same binder?
    Do you have separate binders for it?

    I personally keep them separate but I've been thinking that maybe I should put them together?!
    There's little in my trade binder and just a bit more in my collect binder.
    I think the biggest problem I have is that people always want the cards I don't want to trade and over here if they want that, it doesn't matter what else is in your binder cuz it's either that or nothing :/
     
    Personally, I don't even bring my cards to leagues when I go aside from the ones I want to use. I've just got too many to make it worth my time to sort through and pick out trade bait.

    Really only worth separating out stuff you absolutely refuse to part with.

    Also, tip: if they've got a card you want and then want a card you're not willing to trade, propose alternatives until they either accept or state something like "this is the only card you have that I want," because the latter phrase is basically an invitation to break off trade talks.

    I don't really collect, only play. So I sling all my holos and ultras etc into a binder and bring them with me to league to sell or trade.

    They mostly go over the map pointing out what they want but eventually they end up on a single card and won't budge at all. They'll make up excuses like, I can easily get the other one or I'd really prefer this card.

    That's one of the reasons I started putting all my collection in separate binders. (I play(ed) more tcg than just pokemon).

    I've got a couple of maps ... *cough* I think about 15 of em XD
    I really like to collect tcg and since I like to play it as well I just have binders laying around everywhere for every single tcg I play(ed).
    I also have deckboxes laying around everywhere and here and there some loose cards. I really need to clean my place up XD

    So there are no cards you just want to keep even if you don't use them just for the artwork?
    Or maybe it's like your favorite pokemon or something.

    I personally have a binder filled with my favorite pokemon and cards from which I just like the artwork.
    I eventually want to get a number of the full art trainer cards because those mostly look amazing.
    Been looking around for a couple (Korrina is probably my most wanted) but when it comes to my collection I prefer to trade for it and not a lot of people are willing to trade those :(

    Speaking of old school ... I have a problem with the rotation system. It's both a great system and a really awful one for a player like myself. But what bothers me the most is that I can't/couldn't get rid of my "old school" cards and on top of that back in the day when I was looking for a few older cards (still am) it's really hard to find and/or rather expensive :(
    for example the badge ones, I think they were in gym heroes and I'm not sure if all gym leaders have them but I can't seem to find them anywhere :(
    I got Misty (holo) by pure luck

    The badges are league promos from the XY Evolution run. The Gym sets had cards like "Brock" and "Erica"

    The card you showed is what I meant.
    I just looked them all up again and I actually prefer the commons over the holo ones.
    They seem fairly easy to find online but I personally don't really buy anything if it's for my collection ... I like the search and eventually trade for them. Idk I might eventually give and just get them online :/

    yeah, no, not those.
    I'd really prefer to just get the old school ones.
    And maybe in the future if they ever make the full arts of ALL the gym leaders, like they did with brock and misty, I might get those as well.
    Tried to get them at this point but failed with every trade so far. Got really close to a Misty but 2 other guys wanted it as well and I don't really have a lot for trade so I fell of pretty fast :(

    They aren't too rare, I've pulled two misty and three brock from packs. Traded/Sold them on though. But they pop up for sale all the time

    The full arts? I don't see them to often ... of course I see an entire list on market (where I sell/buy cards) but when it comes to my collection I don't like to buy cards.
    I only buy cards that I'll play. Like Lurantis, speaking of which time for a new thread XD

    You mean Misty's Determination and Brock's Grit right? I see them about all the time.

    Yeah, those two.
    I only see them in decks or from people who are just like me, just collecting them.
    So it's tough to get them by mere trading.

    Exactly, it has turned into a sell/buy game now. People don't trade cuz they buy singles and just what they need. The only trades I see happen are just "smarter" people ripping off "dumber" people.
    The only people that are really happy to trade are kids. One of the reasons I don't go to my locals that often and just play whenever I'm babysitting.
