KABOOM..?​

Deceptio sealed himself away, anticipating the explosion that was soon to come. The tentacle he held begun to get hotter, small strands of green smoke wafting upwards and making hard to breath. Deceptio held his breath, he had been playing it cool but now he felt terror. What if he was wrong?

Several minutes passed as more and more of the putrid green haze flew off of the tentacle. That was when Deceptio noticed something, the tentacle was shrinking. As the smog grew thinker, the tentacle grew smaller and smaller. Then suddenly, it was gone.

Deceptio blinked, coughing finding it harder and harder to breath. However, it seemed that nothing was wrong. He waited several more minutes to be sure before emerging from the room in an emerald cloud of the noxious gas. It seemed that it was over. Could it really have just been a ruse?

I refuse to believe that this was merely a decoy. I am happy that Deceptio is alive, of course, provided that his loyalties have not just been forcefully changed or we've been otherwise negatively impacted.

It is too much to expect that Deceptio would be able to tell us what exactly just happened. And now that this has come to pass, we have mere hours left of daylight.

The only thing we can do now is decide who is most suspicious or what the best course of action is.

Do we:

1) Lynch aG or the surviving d00f and find out if the amnesia is a sign of switched loyalties?
2) Try to route out the feeder somehow and remove a chaotic element from our chaotic lives?
3) Lynch Deceptio (I'm sorry honey, but I can't be sure you're the man I know anymore) in case the tentacle would come back and haunt us all?
4) Choose another thus far undiscussed course of action?

If we do make a decision, we've got pretty limited decisions ^.

Whilst Gunner/Doof's situation is interesting, it looks more like some odd pass-the-parcel thing going on, I imagine doof will be able to pass on this amnesia to someone else in the next night phase. It doesn't seem inherently dangerous, and it looked like Gunner was back to normal afterwards?...

Which leaves Deceptio as the only target. This tentacle gas stuff doesn't sound too innocent, although what it's going to do IDK. Really though, if we voted Deceptio we'd just be clutching at straws. It's a totally blind choice (although I suppose they all are, in this game).

Does anyone else have an alternative theory or reason to target someone?

i agree with Mana. i don't know, it doesn't seem like the amnesia is doing anything at all, right? apart from their absent behaviour in the day posts, it's not like aG or Bidoof were even affected in their daily functioning it seems. unless one of the two affected could give us some insight into what they were told or something?
i doubt it's something role-altering either though... we already have two recruiters in play, so another mechanic to make people switch to the Blarzigord side would be excessive :/ and since the recruiters can only strike once every two nights, i don't think that's what taking place either, right? unless the recruiters like, alternate nights or something.

to be honest i'm inclined to lynch Deceptio just to get rid of whatever threat the absorbed tentacle might pose in the future. but then again we'd also lose our entertaining PW posts.

i'd also be on board with getting rid of the Feeder, though i'm not entirely sure how we would do that? since i think there are a lot of targets tonight...

Honestly, I almost kill myself in an attempt to save you guys and suddenly I'm a target once more? Are some suggestive words and a few puffs of special effect really enough to convince you that I'm suddenly against you all?

Don't let the necessity of a lynch make you jump to my execution. The truth is that if you wanted to try and off me then I wouldn't stop you, but to be honest I'd rather not have to deal with such a betrayal and spiraling turn of events so quickly after the drama with what at present I myself can see as nothing more than what I initially thought it to be.

A tool to cause discord and aggravation between the masses. Presumably because the Game Masters weren't happy because the mafia has already started to die off so quickly.

Because in the end where do loose threads get us? Except to a cheap sewing machine in a desperate attempt to keep the frayed fabric of our population together. At the end of the day I have done all I can to earn the trust of the innocent today, it's true, I even did so with the expectancy that I may die as a result.

However I knew that if I lived I might survive just long enough to see another day, with the population standing alongside me. I have done all I can to support you all and now I am without option as to what else to do. But I give my word that I am still as I was as far as I myself can tell.

Since you seem so ready to part with it yourself? Maybe time is of the essence but I never trust a man who says things like "we have no choice" and "there are no other options". You're all looking to nothing but what is right in front of you instead.

Magic, twice today you have seemed rather inclined to have me in particular taken out of the picture. You were the first person to mention my post length being suspicious AND you're the one so openly proclaiming that lynching me now seems like the only option over a little bit of smoke coming from something that was SUPPOSED to be a bomb.

Bombs generally do tend to just, you know, fizzle out and start smoking when they're nothing more than duds. We've already discussed how pulling at straws is a bad idea, we can't stake our bets on random pieces of information. I doubt you thought much about it when you accused me... twice... on rather hasty assumption on both fronts, but I'll be adding you to my list of suspects regardless.

Still I'll admit that I have no alternative.

Try and kill me if you must. If it means protecting everyone here... then I will do what I must do and put myself in harms way. Just know that this WILL NOT go exactly as planned for you and while I don't want to say too much you'd be better off going for someone else.

Actually I asked if it should be seen as suspicious, being new to this game. I do find your long winded defenses somewhat odd. Also, I quite clearly said there is no reason to pick anyone other than this tentacle thing, it's literally the only thing to go on.

Tbh I found it kind of weird that you were willing to sacrifice yourself, and then the bomb didn't go off ><. Sacrificing yourself as one of the masses wouldn't benefit the group or game, it wouldn't shine a light on anything happening.

Yourself, Gunner and Bidoof have all had weird things going on. Your circumstance is different in that you put yourself in that position, they didn't.

I'll say it again:

Yeah, I am not convinced either that the tentacle didn't cause atleast some damage. But then again, they may be playing us.

So, the tentacle gave you a special, one time, power? Guess we won't find out without letting you live. But even then, you might get killed in the night.

Maybe something else gave me strength.

Or maybe just maybe I've been keeping something hidden up my sleeve this entire time. Waiting for the right moment to use it as a force for good.
