Hi there. I'm Aurora, and I was born and currently being raised in the eastern suburbs of South Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I'm 14 years old and I'm turning 15 in September (26th if you want the date for whatever reason).

I'm a Smogon University import, hanging around their server and forums for no less than 18 months and eventually attaining driver status on their Pokemon Showdown server, which I temporarily rescinded. I'll have it back soon. Dealing with three thousand users, most of them incredibly low in intelligence, isn't the most exciting job.

I first landed on the battle server of PC around a month ago, for the sole reason that I wanted to visit Pokemon Showdown's second most populated server. I liked the atmosphere, I decided to stay, and Nica eventually discovered who I was, and dragged me over to the forums. I attained driver status fifteen days later. :) I'm usually there most, if not all nights, after school and most of the day during the weekend, so if you ever want to speak to me, that's the best place to reach me!

I'm an avid Borderlands 2 player (as evidenced via my profile picture) and devout Nine Inch Nails fan (as evidenced via everything else). I don't have many hobbies, but I enjoy football (or soccer, whatever it is you want to call it) and OzTag (which is essentially touch rugby league, but players wear tags on their hips). When I'm not on Smogon / PokeCommunity, I'm usually either playing Borderlands or listening to some music.

That wraps that up, so feel free to ask away!

I've seen you around the server a lot but I never figured we'd have so much in common - who's your favourite Borderlands character? Do you prefer Borderlands 1 or 2? What made you choose such a pretty name for the forum? What's your favourite NIN album?

    who's your favourite Borderlands character?

Not sure why, but my favourite's probably Saturn, a massive loader which is extremely difficult to destroy. I enjoy a challenge, and while the repeated deaths annoy me to no end, Saturn gives me said challenge -- it takes 5 minutes apiece for me to kill it, lol. I also like its design: massive robot with shooty things on its arms.

Do you prefer Borderlands 1 or 2?

I've never played Borderlands 1 before; I should probably pick it up at some. I probably woukdn't be able to adjust to the slightly different and 'primitive' playstyle, so Borderlands 2 would remain my favourite.

What made you choose such a pretty name for the forum?

Double meaning: I love auroras -- they're some of the prettiest examples of Nature's beauty. It's also the name I go by most everywhere I can.

What's your favourite Nine Inch Nails album?

The Slip, The Downward Spiral and The Fragile are my favourite albums. I love everything about them. Seriously.

While I'm at it, I might as well mention my least favourite album: With Teeth. What is this? Shallow attempt at replicating Broken and The Downward Spiral which goes completely awry. /sigh

Which do you prefer, PC or Smogon? :p

I have no preference. Both sites are great to be at in their own special way; for instance, PC has a much more friendly atmosphere than Smogon's, while the wit and humour I get everyday out of Smogon's many IRC channels and the server just kills me xD

I love the way your name matches your thread. Is it meant to be a Half-Life 2 reference? If so, when do you think Valve will satiate our lust for more Gordon Freeman action?

Have you ever played competitive Pokemon over Wifi? What benefits/complications do you see in picking one over the other?

    What is your favorite Pokemon?

    What is your favorite color?

Do you plan on playing X&Y? If so, which starter are you picking?

    Hiya,

    Do you play doubles?

What's your favourite move competitively speaking?

Why is VGC metagame superior to Smogon's rules?

What's the worst thing you've ever tasted?

When did you go to sleep last night?

Would you have a broccoli and chocolate milkshake?

Which do you like better, football or Rugby?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

    Dream Job?

    Fave Fruit and Veggie?

    Best moment in life?

    Worst moment in life?

What do you think of people asking you random questions?Like how many pillows on your bed do you have lol.

    Favorite thing about Borderlands 2?

What other video games do you like besides Borderlands and Pokemon?

    Thanks! :)

I've never even heard of Half-Life 2! I just picked "borealis" as the thread title because Aurora Borealis is the name of the northern hemisphere auroras (or the Northern Lights).

Have you ever played competitive Pokemon over Wifi? What benefits/complications do you see in picking one over the other?

I've never played competitive Pokemon over Wi-Fi, but I'd much rather play Pokemon over my 17 inch computer than a 4 inch DS which cuts out half the time :/

What is your preferred option for take-out food?

    KFC always

Do you have any plans for the future?

I really don't know yet. I wanted to become a lawyer, but I'm beginning to question whether or not that's the best idea. I also have a private aspiration far greater than getting a good education which I won't specify.

    What is your favorite Pokemon?

Probably Togekiss or Shaymin. Both are equally cute and adorable :)

    What is your favorite color?

Red. It's nice and vibrant and goes with quite a few of my other favourite colours, like orange and yellow.

Do you plan on playing X&Y? If so, which starter are you picking?

I don't plan on buying X / Y at the moment. I'm waiting for more information to come out; at the moment, details are sketchy and and I enjoy knowing what I'm diving into before buying a game. Should I end up purchasing one or both of them, though, I'd probably pick Fennekin purely because I love Fire-types. The designs are pretty meh this generation, IMO.

    Do you play doubles?

I've never played doubles. I've only ever played singles or triples.

What's your favourite move competitively speaking?

Thunder or Close Combat. The former's effectiveness is dramatically increased due to the ubiquity of rain in OU, and Close Combat can steamroll entire teams. Just look at Scarf Heracross in UU.

Why is VGC metagame superior to Smogon's rules?

I wouldn't know; I've never played VGC. Or doubles. lol

Do you like the move Auroua Beam?

If people on the main server could stop highlighting me purposely with "Aurora Beam" every time I kick / mute somebody, I would warm towards it dramatically; it's a pretty name! Until then, it rests in the great pile of annoyances I have to face every visit.

How many pillows do you have on your bed?

I have two: one under the pillow I physically sleep on, and one I actually sleep on. Reason being is because I suffer from heartburn and need to be propped up to reduce the likelihood of getting hit with it.

Do you have any role models?

I don't really look up to anyone. I follow myself, which sometimes isn't the best idea. I will occasionally seek guidance on issues with certain people, but no, I don't really have a concrete "role model".

Rugby league on its own is a garbage sport where brute strength and size is prized over pace and skill. Pace is the essence in touch / OzTag, though, which makes them fun to play. I prefer football as I'm good at kicking (essential when playing defence) and it's much more entertaining to watch (not that I support a football team...)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully I'll be at a university campus studying something I enjoy!

    Dream Job?

I haven't really devoted much time to thinking about this. I wanted to be a lawyer for years on end, but I've reached the age where I'm starting to question my aspiration and determining whether or not I should shift my focus elsewhere. So I don't really have a dream job set in stone yet. At least I have a few years to mull everything over!

    Fave Fruit and Veggie?

Favourite fruit would be Granny Smith apples; their tart taste and general crispness is really appealing to me. I don't eat vegetables that often, which is pretty bad, but I'd say carrots.

    Best moment in life?

Getting dux of my grade last year (highest academic honour possible!)

    Worst moment in life?

A camp I attended in Year 7 down at Jindabyne (Snowy Mountains) was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was tormented to no end by the other residents of my cabin, as if I was an obstruction to whatever the hell they might have wanted to do if I wasn't placed in there by the teaching staff. Nothing happened to them after. They only received a slap on the wrist.

What single event in your life has impacted you more than anything else?

I "found myself" in Year 4 (not specifying as it's extremely personal) and it's completely changed the way I perceive the world around me and how I think. Prior to that, I was pretty confused and didn't really know how I felt about anything, but I'm pretty "enlightened" in the sense of the word now.

    Favorite thing about Borderlands 2?

I find the massive variety of stuff you can find as well as the free-roam environment are the biggest reasons that I continue to play Borderlands 2. Every game is different, and there's something new and challenging ready for you every time you jump into one of your games.

What other video games do you like besides Borderlands and Pokemon?

I'm not much of a gamer. I enjoy the Mario series and I'm starting to find out whether or not I'm going to enjoy the Legend of Zelda. Super Smash Brothers is another fun series, and I'm waiting for the next couple of games to be released.

I might include that I loathe the Sonic series and always will for all of eternity.

I see. In Half-Life 2 there's a ship named after the Aurora Borealis, and since you play Borderlands I thought that maybe you played Half-Life 2. Still a good matchup!

What is your favorite Claptrap quote?

Have you ever been to see NIN in concert?

Is there any particular reason you don't like Sonic? I won't try to force you to like it or anything, but I grew up with Sonic and it is one of my favorites.
