Brock Sucks.

um...the only thing i hate about brock is that he has lines for eyes:

His -.- face is pretty difficult to deal with sometimes.

But he has some of the best Pokémon ever. Crobat, Foretress, MUDKIPZ (he HAD that >.>), Happiny, and his best capture yet, Croagunk. Seriously, with the Ownage Frog, you can't go wrong.

Anyways, I don't like the fact that he appears in every Season. Then again, the series constantly talks about how great his cooking and survival skills are. So that may be the reason why they keep him around so much.
 
Erm, anyone who doesnt like brock is wrong.

He has some awesome pkmn. He is a breeder. He can cook. It's fun to watch him fail with women.
And he is one o the few characters who is still there rom the beggining.
 
Objection, sweetie.

Brock is a great character! He's older, wiser, knows a great deal about Pokémon, a former gym leader, a great character that supports Ash/Satoshi, a great comic relief character, and best of all, he can cook.

also i herd he leiks mudkips. =p

And how about elaborating on why you hate Brock, just stating you do is one thing, but having reasons as to why is another. Promotes more discussion, gets the thread on the right foot, etc.

I disagree with your opinion, he's fine in my book, I don't mind him at all really. And his overreactions to any female within a 30 mile radius is funny. XD I like his diversity with water, rock, and ground types as well. So, overall, he's a classic character that I still enjoy his presence to this day. Just my two cents. :x

Ahhh, but he gave the reason! Subtely, he is giving an example of what Brock does! This is Brock's personality at its fullest extent! No personality, one line of speech, no effort to stand out, no apparent opinion or reason...This thread IS Brock. kabigon will gather your opinions by seeing how you will react to this thread and, according to how you react to Brock personailty, will tell him whether you agree or disagree.

This is simply the greatest thread to EVER exist. Full of depth and...stuff. 5 stars from me.
 
brock is the man! Without him ash would always be getting lost and would starve to death without brocks survival and cooking skills! He will never leave the show until he finds a girl that takes him......which will be a while.

i think your wrong because hes a cook,breeder,used 2 be a gym leader,and all the pokemon he has and u gusy forgot his onix,geodude,and soodowoodo there was that 1 lady who liked him back aswell but i like it when mistey,and max pull his ear and how croagunk uses poison jab on him its hilarious
 
Jorah was sort of right when he said that this was the greatest thread ever. It's not the best thread I've ever seen, but I did laugh out loud at the bluntness and lack of elaboration of the first post. It's an okay thread, not too shabby, but it could do with less people asking the person who started the thread why he hated Brock so much.

I quite like Brock, something I share in common with the majority of old school Pokémon fans. His eyes used to make me crack up, his continuous flirting and failing with the opposite gender made me giggle sometimes and the mixture of the types he uses is pretty cool. Water, Ground and Rock are pretty groovy types, after all. He's a Gym Leader and his family is bigger than the amount of people you can fit into an anime convention. He can cook, he normally outsmarts Ash and he's the only person out of the original trio of protagonists who was level-headed.

What's not to like about him?

Don't know whether that's a typo, but I'm a girl hahaha. I think he would've only said "who agrees?" if there wasn't a character limit XD

But I think some people ask "What IS there to like about him?" plus Brock inturupts battles explaining all the time which equates to...hatred?
 
Brock also has some of the coolest Pokemon.
Croagunk? Yes, please.

I don't think so... They could create an another character with good cooking skills and survival skills... I didn't see Ash died when Brock is absent.
 
LMAO! Ive been wanting to start a thread like this for a while to see how people will react! What Jorah said made me lol because its true! I dont like brock because he does NOTHING. Sure he's a gym leader but hes aguably the weakest one out of all of them. Brock can also be replaced easily. the example: tracey! Did I miss brock at all during the orange islands? NO. Because he SUCKS. The truth is brock is a lame character overall, and having croagunk wont even save him. Brock failing with women stopped amusing me in the first season because it just got old. Fast. Also, how is brock a breeder??? I have NEVER seen him breed anything.

I think Brock has potential as a character, but most of it is just wasted. He isn't really that memorable, and while being a gym leader should imply a certain level of experience and skill (such that he could be a mentor of sorts to Ash and May/Dawn), it never seems to amount to much, with the exception of him making analytical comments from the sidelines (ex: Ash vs Norman)

If we're talking fanfiction though, I think Brock could be made to be a lot cooler without being out of character.
 
I don't think it's whether a character is good or bad by full intents, but rather how that character is justified and if that character, well, stays in character. Brock was originally a wise and affable Pokémon breeder (and Gym leader) who had a lot to say, pursued his own goals, and offered a lot more than going after nigh every woman he sees in a droll manner (which I don't think is funny - at least Team Rocket has a great many ways of being in jest, despite how redundant they can be) and clarify Ash's strategies. That's my issue with his character - he started out great, but became intensely limited as the series went on.
