That's tomorrow. Anyone here celebrate Cinco De Mayo? If so, how do you celebrate? What are your traditions, etc? If you're not Mexican, and don't celebrate, will you eat Mexican food tomorrow?

One of my friends is Mexican and I was told that only Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I'd be too embarrassed to get Mexican food and look like one of those people who don't know.

looks like I'm one of those people xD

Im eating Mexican food tomorrow with friends

I'm probably the most outspoken Hispanic in this entire forum site, if not just one among the latest... and I haven't the slightest fucking clue what the day's even about. XDDDDD

I drank margaritas and got a "south of the border" pizza because no one wanted to get Mexican since it would be packed

The Mexican army's victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla.

How many of you thought that Cinco De Mayo was Mexican Independence Day?

    Anyone?

    Anyone???

GOOD. BECAUSE IT'S NOT, and I cannot tell you how many people, especially here in my area literally thought of that and as a Mexican native this makes me facepalm soooooooooo hard that my head will fall off.

The best part about the holiday when you live in the southern U.S. is the beautiful hypocrisy.

May 4th - "We don't need them mexicans! Get out of our country! Build a wall!"

May 5th - "Ay ay ay! Me gusta enchiladas!"

That makes sense. Mexican, American, Canadian; regardless of what origins you have, no one singular person is likely to care about history outside scholars and politicians. XD
