Funny story about this run, too. You see, Emerald was the first Pokemon game I ever played, back in 2007 or so. I was 10 at that time. And as I'm sure many other kids playing Pokemon for the first time did... I solo'd my starter (Which was Torchic, if you couldn't already guess) throughout the entire game. It actually went surprisingly well, but it all fell down when I hit the (almost literal, seeing the Pokemon they use) brick wall that was Tate and Liza. Earthquake and Psychic was too much for my 10 year old mind, so I quit the game there. Later I picked up Pearl when it came out, and
actually played and finished it, and the rest is history.
Anyway, the Update. Here goes:

After 8 long years, I'm back for revenge!
- First attempt goes badly, getting OHKO'd by Calm Mind -> Psychic from Lunatone
- 2nd attempt fares no better, Managed to KO Solrock, but instead fell from Calm Mind -> Psychic from Xatu
- Also lost the 3rd attempt, Claydol's Light Screen was not having any of my Blaze Kick
- 4th attempt is lost to an Earthquake crit on turn one (sound familiar?)
- 5th attempt finally does it!
My childhood can rest easy now.
- Got Dive, went to Sootopolis to pick up Brick Break
- Taught TM Brick Break, Erasing Double Kick
- Went to and finished the Seafloor Cavern
- Taught TM Earthquake, Erasing Slash
- Flamberge has his FireRed Moveset: Aerial Ace, Brick Break, Blaze Kick, Earthquake
- Did the Rayquaza stuff, went to the Sootopolis Gym
- Juan Sweep
- Went to Ever Grande, Entering Victory Road...
This guy's line was so perfect for this run, I had to include it.
- Wally Sweep
- Got through Victory Road pretty easily, it was quite underwhelming
- Did the usual stuff; Boxed all HM Slaves, bought items, and used all Rare Candies
- Flamberge is Level 75, Going in...
Oh, Intimidate. I hope all of the Elite 4 battles aren't like this.
- Sidney Sweep
- Had a nice battle against Phoebe, It got pretty close a few times
- Glacia Sweep
- And now Drake...
Crit! Argh, rotten luck. Oh well, try again.
- Much like Lance in FireRed, I fight my way back up to him and win the 2nd time
- Saved and challenged Champion Wallace
- Having an epic, drawn out battle I come out... As the loser! I know what I did wrong and I know what I must do...
- Taught TM Bulk Up, Erasing Blaze Kick (!!)
- Gyarados' Dragon Dance -> Earthquake was barely fended off by a few Bulk Ups and I emerge victorious!
