Normally I wouldn't goad people to get SAO:Hollow Fragment, having played a good bit of Infinity Moment myself...

...Buuuuuuut, it does add the fantastic feature to not play as Kirito, which practically made me want to throw my wallet at it (though sadly, you still kinda are Kirito, but you can change their looks, name them, and you're not tethered to Asuna, so it's almost as good). Apart from that, it has faster paced gameplay than the original and new stuff. I still wouldn't recommend people jumping to buy it if they don't know what the game is and just want to buy it because it's SAO, though. I will stress that it plays more like an average MMO than like an Action RPG.

Anyway, Disgaea 4, Neptunia, Akiba's Trip, and Phoenix Wright for me. Also, SAO when it gets cheap. D4 has priority, and it'll probably be the only one of those that I'll be getting this month, with the others coming later.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is looking very promising, but sadly, it's for Vita only (isn't it?), which I just don't have. Might have gotten this console, but sadly, PlayStation handhelds just aren't my thing anymore; I wish they were. Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright sounds pretty interesting! I'm familiar with former series, but not so much of latter (but have heard good things about it), but that shouldn't been an issue; it wouldn't hurt to at least try.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much things for Nintendo this month, which sucks; was very much looking forward to more.

They just released an Infamous game.....I'm excited, but I wasn't too sure about Second Son, and First Light looks promising. Hopefully, it can be as amazing as the first two.

To be perfectly honest, that's actually the reason why I am getting it haha. But you are correct; people shouldn't get the game if you're expecting a well-designed SAO adaption game. I'm personally just getting it already having the expectations that it will be a so-so SAO game, but as an avid fan of the series I've wanted to play a game like this for awhile (which I actually didn't know that they had another game in the form of Infinity Moment already out. Hmpf, the more you know!)

Video Game News: August 4th, 2014

    • Earlier today Micromania.fr posted a listing for a white Xbox One bundled with Sunset Overdrive on their website for 399£, which as of now has been taken down. As people question the validity of such a new colored Xbox, there are numerous reasons in which one may believe that this is in fact true. To start off, Micromania had initially leaked that the hit game Titanfall's beta would go from the 14th of February to the 19th which was completely true. Second, and more convincingly, this isn't the first time that news has slipped that Microsoft has been in the works of creating a new version of their console. In January, a person claiming to be a Microsoft employee posted a huge leak of Xbox One info on the NeoGAF forums which included making a new Crackdown game, a remastered Halo rerelease with a beta for Halo 5, as well as this new white Xbox One (the first two of which have been confirmed.) At the time, the user posted..:
      NeoGAF Leaker "ntkrnl" said:
"I am incapable of fear. Plus, this is such exciting stuff, and me talking about it ahead of time isn't going to hurt anything, truthfully."
    • Now that the BioShock series is under the rightful hands of publisher 2K after Irrational Games decided to shut down, it looks like the series is being rebooted starting with the original game coming to new platforms. BioShock is currently planned to being released via iOS on the iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5c later this summer (although a specific release date has not been announced as of yet.) The game is stated to be available as a premium app with no microtransactions, but 2K has not announced yet what the price of the 7 year old title is going to be. While the game is going to take hits on a graphical standpoint because of the obvious hardware limitations, it will be retaining a lot of what made BioShock so unique. The game will be controlled be touch screen with some aim assistance for better control of some aspects of the game, as well as the Plasmids and Weapons being utilized by touch screen buttons.
    • Bungie has quickly gone on the defensive for their end game Raid set-up for their much hyped game Destiny after revealing that there will not be any matchmaking capabilities. Bungie's Luke Smith revealed that Raids, which become available when your character hits Lv.20, are made available for 6 people and will not allow players to fill in empty slots with strangers. Luke Smith quotes:
      Luke Smith said:
"Raids are a really big bet for us. It's a bit of a risk. Because the activity requires you to have a group of five other friends to play with."
Not only will you need 5 other friends to play with, you'll need them for awhile. Unlike Strikes, which are easily passable instances in little under 20 minutes, Raids can demand several hours of your time. But, as Smith points out, is part of the charm. He goes on to say:
      Luke Smith said:
"It's getting people together and getting them into a group and making your way down to the Vault of Glass and seeing what's at the bottom of it - if you can get that far. I understand everyone's frustration about the decision to not have matchmaking in a post-matchmaking world. I also understand the limitations that this places on the activity's adoption at scale. That barrier to entry - the requirement that you get a group of people together and venture into something that is going to challenge your ability to work together (first) and your thumbs (second) - is a barrier I was willing to erect to preserve the activity goals."
And that's it for today's news! What do you think of Microsoft making a white Xbox One? Do you think that this leak is true? What do you think of Bioshock coming to iOS? Do you think Bungie Studios is right in making Raids without matchmaking? Comment below with your thoughts and opinions!

I think it's pretty valid... PS4 has white version so Microsteal has to follow.
And bundle with Sunset Overdrive is an obvious choice.
It's the game that is most "in" now. Plus if this fails they can always try Halo bundle.

Xillia 2, Neptunia, Layton vs Phoenix, and Crown of the Old Iron King. Looks like I have enough of games for this month.

You can finish Neppys before the end of the month, don't worry! =D
I won't, though :( Because I want retail version so I'll be waiting for import :/

Hohokum looks pretty neat. I think I'll pick that up whenever I get a PS3. :) Xillia 2 looks nice too, but I think I should play the first one before I even consider that, haha. Other than that, not interested in anything else. Looking forward to selling these games, though!

I seriously can't wait for Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright; it's ABOUT TIME it got released, and gods, I can't wait to see what happens!

Someone told me about Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment before, and I'm really curious on how that game will be like, if they follow the general 'mechanics' of Sword Art Online from the anime! :3

Ace Attorney vs Layton looks cool except I played it already (hooray Europe)

The only thing here that I'm interested in is Ultra Street Fighter 4...but even after EVO I'm still unsure. I'll wait until the metagame develops more.

Nothing for me this month as well.

In all honesty? The nerfs Bison got really dampened my excitement for the game lol.

I'm just gonna wait and see if the metagame will be balanced enough anyway to try it out. I'm especially curious about how Dudley will do in the new metagame.

Weird thing, I just have Ultra Street Fighter.

...Not really sure how. I was just perusing my Steam inventory and there it was. There's no record of a transaction, code entry, etc. It's just there (in place of my Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition). Strange, because you're supposed to upgrade; I'm pretty sure it's not free for SFIV/SSFIV owners.

Bison got nerfed? We're talking about Dictator, right? I remember gleaming over his changes, and I know that his main negatives was that teleport has more frames now and Ultra 2 does less damage. Aside from that, he got a lot of buffs in general.

Even if Bison got nerfed, it certainly can't be as bad on what they did to Cammy. I was hurting while reading her changes. Granted some of those nerfs were warranted, but ugh.

Oh GOODNESS I forgot about Tales of Xilla 2 - I can't wait to see how that plays out because I hear that you can choose between multiple endings! Plus, the combos in the game doesn't look too bad at all; anyone else excited for ToX2 as well? c:

Yup! Already have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered and everything.

Xillia 2's combo system is probably the second best the Tales series in terms of freedom and versatility, just behind Vesperia. So, you'll be able to achieve some really fancy looking combos, especially with Ludger.

"While trying to uncover the truth (of her friends disappearance) Max reunites with an old friend, Chloe, and makes a startling discover: Max has the power to rewind time
While the game doesn't have a release date, it is said that the game will be released episodically like the Telltale Games of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, and as such the game's events will be played out based on the decisions you make in the game. It is going to be coming out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC. Life is Strange is currently being shown off at Gamescon in Germany to journalists, so prepare to get more info on the game as the week goes on.
    • Metro 2033 developer 4A Games is sticking with their pricing for their remastered game Metro Redux - a combination of 2010's Metro 2033 and last year's Metro Last Light - by offering a 50% discount for Steam gamers who own either of the two games in their library. While developers admit that the differences can be seen at minimal at best and fans of the series have argued why they should pay so much to begin with, 4A games responded to criticism by saying:
      4A Games said:
"Almost the entire team of around 80 people at 4A Games will have been working on the Metro Redux titles for almost a year by the time we release next month. It has been a substantial project for the studio. In the end, a flat 50% discount was judged to be the simplest, fairest solution. Ultimately, you are free to vote with your wallets."
The studio further goes on to point out that the remastered version has new DLC and new mechanics that weren't part of the game. The game is slated to come out later this month August 26th for Metro Last Light Redux and August 29th Metro 2033 Redux
    • As part of their multiplayer extravaganza in Gamescon in Germany, Activision revealed to fans of the Call of Duty series that there is a way to get their hands on their newest game Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare a day early of the release date on November 4th of this year. The "Day 0" edition as they call it will allow players to get double XP for the entire day before the game actually hits shelves. Those who order the games will also get 2 special weapons: an AK12G Assault Weapon and Crossbow B12; it will also come with the "advanced arsenal", which includes a brass exoskeleton and a special energy weapon called a Quantum EA1. Activision hyped it up by saying.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Website said:
"By pre-ordering you are qualified to purchase a Day Zero Edition unit at participating retailers on November 3rd. However, Day zero Edition quantities are limited, and availability is subject to demand and inventory at retailer locations."
As a bonus, all limited edition versions of the game will come with the Day 0 benefits and bonuses. Plus, all digital preorders will come with the bonuses as well on November 3rd.
