    My first thought when seeing Bouffalant was "Ooo, finally a evolution of Tauros!" but no? I realize the differences between them, the biggest being that Bouffalant doesn't even have a tail.. But how can you not see the connection? Personally I really like Tauros, and would love to see a evo., but yeah.

    Is it just me?
     
    I think Bouffalant would have been a good evo from Tauros, I like them both and they look awfully similar, especially their animation!
     
    Tauros is powerful enough that it doesn't need an evolution anyways. I'm still waiting for the common baby form between him and Miltank. XD
     
    Well, yeah, at first, I thought tauros had an evolution to Bouffaluant, because the look widely smiliar, but, yeah; the more I really thought about it, Tauros doesn't need an evolution; because its base stats total 490; its REALLY fast and has REALLY good attack too...while Bouffalunt doesn't have as much speed, so...you know, that probably wouldn't make much sense as an eolution to me, TBH. However, I can relate --there's alot of evolution misconceptions out there -- for instance, Luvdisk and Mamanbo; which I THOUGHT luvdisk would evolve into a Mamanbo, buuuut...yeah.
     
    The only difference between Tauros and Bouffalant is that Tauros is a bull and Bouffalant is a buffalo. A thing in common they share is that they are bovine mammals with horns.
     
    Cattle and buffalo are in the subfamily Bovinae, so of course there's a resemblance.

    Also, Tauros doesn't need an evolution, it needs a better movepool. Frost Breath + Tauros's Anger Point could be pretty devastating in doubles/triples anyways.
     
    Tauros, Bouffalant, and Miltank seem to be three different flavors of bovine.

    Tauros, the masculine one, is the fastest, but has the least endurance.
    Miltank, the feminine one, has the most endurance, but hits the weakest.
    Bouffalant, the gender neutral one, hits the hardest, but is the slowest of the trio.

    What's more, is that all three of them have the same BST of 490.
     
    They look the same. But hey, it's Game Freak's decision. Leave it to them to decide why it ain't an evolution. They do have a reason.
     
    Immediately when I compared those two, Tauros and Buffalon (using its Japanese name here), aren't really alike to be an evolution between each other. They're two different animals and species. Miltank is a close call, though.
     
    They whole reason Bouffalant exists is to be a new the NEW tauros. gen 5 is pretty much an attempt to redo gen. 1. Think about it, munna and musharna are akin to drowzee and hypno, frivalish and jellicent are akin to tenticool and tentacruel, and bouffalant is akin to tauros. Personally, i still like tauros better even tho bouffalant has the cool hair.
     
    As much as I love Tauros, I could never stop staring at Bouffalant giant afro, it is sooo friggin mesmerizing @_@

    I thought Anger Point only activated when the Pokemon was hit by a Critical Hit... Though I'm thinking you mean if a partner teamed up with Tauros and used Frost Breath on Tauros in Double/Triple Battles...?

    Originally, I wanted Tauros to evolve into Bouffalant, but now I'm fine with it, as bulls and buffalos are considered different bovines. Plus, Tauros has multiple tails and its collar looks more haggard, little features that would be lost in Bouffalant's appearance. But apparently, they have the same Base Stat Total of 490, so this would just be another Scyther/Scizor scenario - Tauros loses its Speed for more bulk and 10-point higher Attack... I think Bouffalant simply being an Expy of Tauros is fine, as both bold bovines can stand tall side by side in battle. It also gives one a chance to play with each bovine a bit differently - catering to Tauro's immense Speed and utilizing Bouffalant's sizeable bulk.
