Any theories on the train in Couriway town? It could just be part of the scenery, but it seems significant to me for some reason. It's gotta be for something. I have a theory, but I want to hear if anyone has any others.

I theorize that there will be a seventh region introduced in Gen 6. Sounds crazy, I know. That's never happened before. But consider the guy in the hotel who mentions that he's from a seventh region.

    Spoiler:

And, there's also the fact that there's only been 69 Pokemon introduced thus far. Seems kinda odd to me. Gen V introduced the most Pokemon so far, with 156 (I think? Something like that). Maybe there's another region that has its own region exclusive Pokemon? I think there will either be DLC, or there will be more versions that come out later where you can revisit Kalos like in Gen II, and the Couriway station is where you arrive. But this could all be wrong of course. Just a theory :)

    Any other theories?

The idea of DLC has been mentioned before, and as a recall, GameFreak/Nintendo/whoever runs things announced they wouldn't do DLC. Someone on here mentioned that Diancie, I think, might be accessible through the Couriway Train. Right now that seems the most logical thing to me (w/Volcanion in the Power Plants and Hoopa connected to the Ghost Girl).

I suspect it will be related to some added content, either a battle zone or an event area or an addition to the Kalos region, but I doubt it'd be a totally new region. Also, the hiker could be referring to one of the side game's regions, like Orre from Colosseum.
I would not be surprised if it somehow connected to more of the Kalos region which will be added in later. Since the legendary pokemon are based off of Norse and general European mythologies, but Kalos seems to just be France, I almost expect a Germany equivalent to appear on the far side of the Alps snowy areas in any future content.

Edit: If Gamefreak have said that the games will not have any DLC, then I reaffirm my suspicion of an event area for one of the un-attainable legendaries.

I see it leading a place like the battle zone areas in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, but I also think you'll be able to Diancie in the area, assuming the train does actually have some significance.

Locked Kalos is a possibility though it be nothing more than like the Nature Preserve in B2W2 at the least. It most likely be a small event area if its related to an Event Pokemon, but then again it doesn't have to be related to anything. There was an unused Railroad track in Gen 5 that was never clarified and didn't exist outside of map info for the railway system.

The Hiker isn't from Orre. None of the Side regions exist in the main Pokemon world. They were made by and belong to other companies that designed them, without sharing ownership and development of the game, even Gamefreak cannot use the regions themselves. They will likely never acknowledge those as real regions either.

Kiloude City is essentially the Battle Zone. Its the end game area with the battle tower-esque battle arena. The Battle Frontier usually doesn't appear until the next set, but this trend was broken in Gen 5 and may not make anymore come backs.

What Gamefreak has intended for us to have is already in our ownership. Don't expect large content add-ons since they dislike the idea of incomplete games. Small items and occasional Pokemon with slightly altered Data is all we have to look forward to as per the normal circumstances. If any locked areas (Naval Island like, Faraway Island Like, Liberty Island like, or Nature Preserve like), we should find out information within the next 4 or so months at the very least.

If we get no word on updates by at least a year after the game's release, expect news of the next game release some months after that. If by a year and a half passes, expect a new generation in the works. This is how I tend to view their information leaks based on how things have gone through in the past.

Don't know, but it's very interesting though as there's quite some mystery rumours going around. Hopefully, we get surprise.
